Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

I just returned from an awesome stay in AKL Club Level. This was the first time I had stayed since the renovation was completed and it was so nice. Beers, Sangria, Wine, and mimosas are now all available throughout the entire day. It was nice to stop in for a mimosa or 3 every morning. They'll even make them with Jungle Juice. Here are a few pics.

I'm there in about a month - that's great to hear! Love a mimosa! And sangria in the afternoon sounds perfect! Glad you had a great stay - how did you like the current food options in the afternoon?

Unfortunately, I didn't really get to experience it as we were either at a park or had dinner ressies. The timing just didn't work out this trip. I did enjoy the evening cordials though. What's better than cupcakes and Grand Marnier before bedtime? I'm sure the 5pm spread was good though. I hope you enjoy your stay!

A friend and I just got back from DL and a stay at paradise pier hotel CL. CM’s at the hotel were fabulous but didn’t think the food selection or atmosphere measured up to any CL ar WDW. I do like the proximity of the parks at DL...so nice not to have to take transportation and time away from enjoying the attractions!
I've done dlh and GCH cl's and agree. All the cl's food offerings were better at WDW however the lounges and cms made up for it. That and having our disney bubble in Cali.

Dlh had a nice 11th floor view and GCH has a nice outdoor balcony so I enjoyed those.

Can't decide if I'll try ppl cl? How was getting to the parks? Walk , uber, drive or other?

I have a CL reservation for one night and the we will check in to a regular room starting the second night. Will checking in to that reservation affect my access to the lounge on the second day?

Most likely, yes, it will affect your access to the Lounge. I have had that issue a number of times in the past. The solution has been to give me a card to scan for the Club Lounge and have my Magic Band work for the non-CL room. I'm not sure if that's still the case, but as you're checking out of CL and into the regular room, ask so they can get it straightened out for you right then and there!

Thanks for the review. We loved the WL before the renovations. When we stayed in the Deluxe rooms - they were on a different floor. I lost track of the renovations and didn't realize that now the deluxe rooms are on the same floor of the lounge. That is great.

@DisneyFansInNYC - sorry I wasn’t clear, burn our room was not on the same level as the lounge. I believe the only rooms on the same level and the lounge are DVC rooms. The 5 min included taking the elevator lol.

Awesome!! Did you guys feel like you had plenty of room with the 6 of you?

Hi @Meghan4. The size was adequate for us, as we didn’t now spend much time in the room, with the exception of sleeping and having a quick breakfast. The rest of the time was spent in the parks and the lounge. The room is a bit tight if you want to eat in the communal room (which is the living room w the foldout sofa). There is only a small table with 2 wooden chairs that houses the telephone and plug outlets. By the time you place all small backpacks/purses, phones and iPads to charge, the table will be full. There are 2 additional living chairs, but they are heavy and the only place for them is flanking the tv (they are directly beside the tv). There is a small oval coffee table in the centre of the living room. There is a mini fridge and a small sink in the living area, which is convenient if you want to store milk and fruit, the night before.

The double bedded room is a good size for the kids. There is space between the 2 beds to place a crib. There is a tv Armoire with drawers for clothes. The washroom is accessible from the main living area/hallway, and from the double bedroom (sliding door).

In the living room, the sofa folds out into a double bed. Once open, there’s not much room to move around. Tip - beware of the bed frame once it is open as it’s metal sides protroud a bit.

At the end of the day, we didn’t spend much time in the room. We spent our days in the park. In the morning and evening, we hung out in the club lounge. The club lounge has a small area for the kids to watch tv, and a larger tv for the adults. I personally think the WL CL deluxe room has good value for our a family of our size. I loved having breakfast readily available. The drinks/coffee/tea in the evening lounge was also a nice way to unwind at the end of each day.

I’m so excited for you and your family! It’s very hard to book a deluxe CL at WL - I believe there are only 2 or 4 on each floor (1-5). Keep me posted!!!

I'm sad to say that I'm back from my weekend WDW visit - two nights at BWI CL, one night BC non-CL. We spent the weekend in sunny, 85-degree weather, and I'm wishing we would've stayed for the week! At home we're experiencing our fourth nor'easter in a month, and today we've had hail, rain, sleet, and now snow - and it's a crisp 30 degrees. :crazy2:

We arrived at BWI on Friday evening around 7:30pm. We had checked in online but still hadn't received a "room ready" text by the time we arrived, so I went to the registration desk in the main lobby and we received the standard "okay, well here's your balance, here's a map, here's a times guide" spiel and were told where to find the elevators to get to our floor - no acknowledgement that we were CL guests. I don't need special treatment, but this was just the total opposite of our experience at the Poly and the YC in December, when - once we told the CMs we were checking in as CL guests - we were escorted to the CL building (at Poly) and CL floor (at YC) and checked in there. Perhaps they don't do this at BWI because of the small desk area upstairs? :confused3

We booked a standard view and ended up in Room 4254, just inside the door and overlooking a courtyard. We dropped our bags off in the room and walked down to the lounge. It was between services but we were hoping to get some drinks before heading out for dinner. We sat in the lounge for 15 minutes without seeing a single CM before we decided to leave. Not a great first impression. We were in Epcot until after 10 that evening, so we didn't return to the lounge that night.

On Saturday morning, I walked down to the lounge to grab cereal for my DD and I asked for a mimosa. I was told, "Sorry, we don't have the liquor for those." I wasn't sure what liquor the CM might have meant, so I asked if they were out of sparkling wine. She said yes, and her fellow CM commented that I could probably run out to the store to find some and then use the OJ in the CL lounge fridge to make one. I was not amused. :sad2: We went to AK in the morning and returned to the lounge in the afternoon to grab some snacks and drinks to take down to the pool. I asked which wines they had available and was told they only had whites (I'm a red gal, myself). I asked for a Bud Light for my DH and was told that they were out, but they might have more in a few hours. This lounge was seriously striking out with me after the excellent service and amenities I've received at other WDW CLs. On the way down to the pool, we did stop at the CL CM desk to ask for help making a reservation for our DD at the Sandcastle Club for that evening. I didn't get the CM's name, but she was very friendly and was able to make the reservation for us in less than five minutes. Finally, a positive!

My DH and I returned for evening apps on Saturday after dropping our DD off at the Sandcastle Club for the evening. Redgie and his dishes were seriously the highlights of our BWI CL experience. That evening he made beef tenderloin with fingerling potatoes, and sauteed fish (cod, maybe?) with veggies. Both were delicious - between those and the other items (charcuterie, crudites, bread with fondue, and soup - that night it was New England Clam Chowder), we didn't need a separate dinner. My DH and I chatted with Redgie for a bit and he told us that we definitely needed to come to the lounge for the omelette station the next morning. After that, we headed to Jellyrolls for some St. Patty's Day fun before picking up our DD from the Sandcastle Club. I'll mention here that she had a blast - so much so that she requested to go back Sunday evening! They made volcanoes as a science experiment and had a pirate party where they got to meet Captain Hook and Smee. On Sunday, they had a luau and had a visit from Chip and Dale.

Sunday morning I was pleased with the lounge offerings. There were several add-in options for the omelettes, plus there was finally champagne for mimosas! After breakfast, we moved our bags over to BC (our room was ready by 8:00am!) and then headed over to MK for the morning. We had lunch at Epcot and then went back to BC to spend the afternoon at SAB. After getting cleaned up, we dropped our DD off at the Sandcastle Club again and headed to the BWI CL lounge for evening apps. Redgie recognized us immediately and asked what we thought of the omelettes that morning. His offerings that night were steamed mussels with couscous and pork belly with apple slaw. There was also a delicious lobster bisque. My DH really enjoys cooking and ended up chatting with Redgie about that for a while. The lounge was pretty slow, so Redgie offered to give my DH a demo of how he was cooking the mussels. At the end of that service, he made us a custom dish that combined the pork belly with couscous - it was delicious, and after everything else we could barely finish it! I can honestly say that, if it hadn't been for Redgie, I wouldn't consider going back to BWI CL. I saw @GADisneyDad14 make a comment earlier about how one shift can make the difference between a good and bad CL experience, and that was absolutely true for me at BWI. The resort itself was great - our room was clean and comfortable, and the proximity to Epcot was really convenient - but I didn't feel that we got the same perceived value for the CL price that I have from other resorts. WDW happened to send me a survey about our resort stay on Monday morning, and I told them the exact same thing.

My DH liked being within walking distance of Epcot and we briefly discussed trying BC CL next, but he's set on returning to Poly CL for our next stay - so we booked a bounceback for June, after DD's school year ends. :goodvibes

I'll try to add a few photos when I get some time to reduce the size of the ones I took on my phone!

Just wanted to say, I love your Avatar! Jim and Pam...
Thank you for your honest eval of CL,!

I have a CL reservation for one night and the we will check in to a regular room starting the second night. Will checking in to that reservation affect my access to the lounge on the second day?

I think someone already answered but yes, I've done it MANY times. You will still have lounge access even after you check into your new room. I always ask as we are leaving what to do if the elevator won't let us up and the response has always been....it will let you up..... and it always has.

I'm there in about a month - that's great to hear! Love a mimosa! And sangria in the afternoon sounds perfect! Glad you had a great stay - how did you like the current food options in the afternoon?

From 1130-3 they have "safari snacks" that's dips, breads and homemade chips, make your own trail mix (spiced nuts, goldfish, dried fruit, yogurt pretzels, etc) and cookies.

Then from 3-430 they have afternoon tea. Scones, homemade granola bars, PB brownies and rice krispie treats.

So, we've always hoped to get to a hallowe'en party one day, but always thought we'd have to wait till I retired (teacher). Between work, DD university and DD sports, we're always back home just before the parties begin. But, this year, Disney put a party on the 17th! However, we also have booked CL for the first time ever at BC (we love BC, but it's our first time doing CL) and we are so excited about it. We have 10 nights at PORS (and lots of park days) and thought 3 nights of BC CL would be so relaxing to end our trip (using pool, lounge, wandering in /out of Epcot, walking the Boardwalk). Now I need to decide if the hallowe'en party is worth leaving BC for an evening when we are only there for 3 evenings. So, for those of you who have done both CL and the hallowe'en party, which do you prefer? I know they're almost impossible to compare, but still wanted to ask your thoughts. I really think I am leaning towards not doing the party (which is crazy because we've always wanted to do it). Ahhh! It's a good problem / decision to have to make but still tough to decide. TIA :-)

We will be at WL CL in NINE DAYS! I will take pics and report back. We stayed there last June and had a great experience.

I will be eagerly awaiting your pics and review. After much deliberation I booked WL CL for our anniversary this year. I wanted to make sure that I booked something before the parking fee went into effect tomorrow. I know it's crazy, you're spending thousands on a room, what's an extra $24 but it's more about principle for me. I did think it was interesting that the CM asked how would I be arriving.
Anyways, I want to be really excited about this stay but it's just hard because I had my heart set on going back to BWI but no military discount was available, even after calling multiple times. So it will be good to see some new pics of WL!

I'm sorry @beesly your BWI stay was not the greatest. That sounds totally opposite from what we experienced both stays last year. I asked for a mimosa every morning and one morning they were out of sparkling but she had someone bring more up right away.

Ok, maybe I'm missing something but why can't you do the party one of the days that you are at POR? Personally, we did MNSSHP once and it was nice but we paid like $45/ each person. @ the current price point....it's tough to see value in that. Last year, we got in line for Peter pan at literally 6:59 so the party was in full swing as we left. I feel like we got a good taste of the party atmosphere in our way out so that was fun.

But you are right there's just no good way to compare CL to MNSSHP. If you have your heart set on the party it's probably "worth it" to go and skip CL that night.

Edit: ok, now I see that the Halloween parties start on the 17th of AUGUST!!! Ok, that's crazy. Just a thought....it's SUPER HOT here in August and it rains almost everyday. So there's a good chance it will be REALLY hot and will rain. I would just take that into account when deciding.

That's a good point that it will be very hot for the first party. With so many park days ahead of your possible party date, what would be important to you to experience at the party? For us, the only real "must do" experiences are the parade and fireworks. I even like to try to see both showings of the parade if I can. I'm not even a parade person but this one holds a special place in my heart, maybe it's just nostalgia, but since I can't see it at any other times it's important to me to see it during the party. Aside from fireworks and parades, everything else is just gravy to us, and aside from maybe a quick trip on haunted mansion, we don't ride that many rides.

If I were you, I'd view the party as an even more special indulgence (like CL) and if you can find room for it in the budget, just go after you enjoy hors doeuvres at 5:00, making sure to arrive at MK well before the parade. That way it will be closer to dark, you can really enjoy the lighting on Main Street and maybe some of the shorter character meet and greets or ride a few rides, see the parade, trick or treat, and enjoy those amazing fireworks. We took a year off from the Halloween Party last year but I probably watched the parade on YouTube about 10 times. I miss it and even though it's ludicrous to say, I think the parade, fireworks, and ambiance might be worth the price of admission.

Edited to add: I completely forgot to mention the Hocus Pocus Spelltacular, which we saw the last show of the party when we went 2 years ago (if the same is true this year, the last show of this starts when the party is ending so I wasn't giving up other stuff to see it) and was surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Mind you, I'm a Hocus Pocus diehard but it's a cute show and also unique to the party. I wanted to point this out if only to mention you could still get a lot of enjoyment out of the party even if you don't get there until 7:00 or after - I think the last show was at midnight so we had a long evening of entertainment.

You can do both. Go to park at 4pm for party and get all the signature pictures . I love my headless horseman pic! Enjoy seeing all the costumes and decorations.

Then head back around 5-6p for 30 mins and take a break. Have some wine and appies then go back. It's a long night so the break will be nice. It's so much easier having everything ready in the lounge vs trying to find somewhere to eat. Besides no alcohol for the most part at MK.

Probably the only time I might suggest splurging for an uber.

lol I responded without seeing other responses. So many ways to make it work. YOLO!

As someone who also works in a school, do the party! This is the first summer we aren't going and I'm so bummed to be missing the party. Personally, missing one night of cl is worth it. You can have apps before you go. The evening drinks/desserts aren't so spectacular that I would pass on the party, especially since you have 2 more nights there. Of course that's jmho.

Thanks for your review. Glad you had a great time and enjoyed AKL CL :wizard:.

Thank you @mickeynut1! I see you have a ticker too! Are you also staying at the GF?

No, not at the GF this time. Staying at BWI in May and then Poly in October. I'm excited to try BWI, as well as CL at the Poly (although I did consider the GF for Oct) :goodvibes.

Hi CL friends! I've been very MIA! BUT I am Disney Dreaming for summer. I have been to DL twice since my last WDW trip, and honestly if I had to pick...I would do DL again over WDW. That said, we have a trip to the Florida Gulf in July soooooooo fingers crossed that some decent summer discounts come out and I can get the family back to WDW!

Hi pas .....nice to "see" you again! Hope a discount comes out for your July trip :).

We will be at WL CL in NINE DAYS! I will take pics and report back. We stayed there last June and had a great experience.

Have a great time! Looking forward to your review and pics when you return :wizard:.

Thanks for your review. I'm sorry your BWI CL experience wasn't the greatest, but hope you had a nice trip overall. Congrats on the BB, have fun planning :).

I really think I am leaning towards not doing the party (which is crazy because we've always wanted to do it). Ahhh! It's a good problem / decision to have to make but still tough to decide. TIA :-)

It would be hard for me to think about Halloween and going to a party in August, but since it's something you've wanted to do but haven't been able to due to schedules, I think I'd go. Going to the party will still give you 2 nights to enjoy CL ;).

Friends.... the “Incredible Summer” room only discount is out. Poly, CR, WL, and BC get 15% ( >:( ); the rest are at 25%.

As always, discounted rooms are subject to availability. Also these apply to ‘normal’ room categories. Discounts for above-standard rooms (such as suites, for example) may differ from the below.

The summer discount can still be booked after 5/22, but 5% less than below.

Happy planning!

I requested the tower room twice. We got it the first time but last January they were all occupied upon our arrival. There is only 3 so its tricky.

However if you don't ask you probably wouldn't have any chance. GOOD LUCK!:daisy:

This was prior to breakfast ending around 10:15 am and that is a mimosa!

Your tray looks so appetizing and exactly what I would be having for breakfast too!
Were the CM's cool with getting you the sparkling wine in the AM?

So you had a tower room! That's great. How did you like it compared to other GF rooms?
