Disney Wonder Hawaii Sept. 2015

They allow B2B on the 2 Hawaiis, but not on the Hawaii-Vancouver/Vancouver-San Diego trips because it violates the PVSA.

What is the point of this act anyway? Who does it benefit?

It was supposed to encourage US flagged ships moving cargo, originally, if I remember right. Basically they wanted to promote US flagged ships and US jobs. Unfortunately it's not working at all in that regards - there just are not any US-US routes among major cruise lines with the exception of Norwegian's Pride of America - they all choose to have foreign flagged ships and routes that don't violate the PSVA. It's too cost prohibitive to have a US flagged ship.

It isn't just a matter of choice. In order to be U. S. Flagged a ship has to be built in the U.S. Only part of the NCL Hawaii ships were built here and it took an act of congress to get them U.S. Flagged. Another problem is they hire U.S.crew at U.S. Wages, and some of them are lazy.

Finally found a thread on EBH September 2015. We booked onboard California Coastal to Vancouver in May. Are there any other threads relating to this cruse? I'm a travel agent. This law is unfortunate, and outdated. It benefits no one. We found out about it because we booked Vancouver to San Diego, and were told it was our choice... Either Hawaii or California coastal. Duh... Any who... We plan to stay at Aulani for two nights before cruise.

 Actually, this isn't the thread for your cruise, this thread was started before the cruise dates were posted in anticipation for a Hawaii cruise. Here is the link to your cruise
