to be fare you couldn't understand why a town had four dunkin donuts either.....The level of oversimplification in those two sentences is mind boggling. I can't respond as fully as I'd like lest I get dinged for veering too much into politics, but suffice to say, you know nothing about US History, sir.
For every point you could make against my argument I could make two. You should probably stop posting as well. The level of oversimplification in those two sentences is mind boggling. You seriously made that comparison?to be fare you couldn't understand why a town had four dunkin donuts either.....
YES, and while I was reading your screen name Lord Manhammer...... what does that mean? It sounds like a porn star nameYou seriously made that comparison?
HAHA!! A porn star name? Now we know where you spend most of your time.YES, and while I was reading your screen name Lord Manhammer...... what does that mean? It sounds like a porn star name
Boogie Nights, babyHAHA!! A porn star name? Now we know where you spend most of your time.
The handle Lord Manhammer was Richard Langly's handle when he played Dungeons and Dragons. Richard Langly was one of the three Lone Gunmen, a group of computer hacking conspiracy geeks featured in the Sci Fi drama, The X Files. The Lone Gunmen would often assist Scully and Muller with various cases. They were given a self-titled one season spinoff, which I think is on YouTube. The Lone Gunmen were my favourite characters, and Langly was my favourite of the three. So now you know. It's about as nerdy as you can get and the diametric opposite of a porn star.

I like to hope, Disney got the message loud and clear from BUD LIGHT, and by quieting the noise, he wants to "return to the core value of entertainment", a statement that in itself is subjective.Returning to the original post that started this thread, I find it interesting that most people seem willing assume that "quiet the noise" means that Disney will stop talking about certain things. Noise can also be understood as other things that are obscuring the message, such as static in radio signals, which when reduced or quieted, makes the main signal stronger. So maybe by quieting the noise Iger meant he wanted to make the message stronger? The reality is that no one knows. This all about a three word quote with no context that everyone wants to read something into.
The difference is the friend being followed b/c he’s got a reputation, black ppl are getting followed b/c there is a presumption based on race/appearance. So, yes, that is racism.Does the inverse hold true?
I'm white, when I walk into a store that has a mostly black staff, and I perceive being closely observed, are the employees somehow racist?
My stepson has a similar problem he goes into the store alone and most of the employees know him and come up to him to shake his head, congratulate him, etc.
He goes into the same store with one of his friends and loss prevention follows them around the store.... Police are usually in the parking lot when they go to leave....
His friend is a known hoodlum, he has never been caught stealing, but just general bad news.....
He also happens to be white....
Is the store racist, or has the friend just made a name for himself....??
