Disney Store Permanently Closed 2020

I wonder what the future for Toronto Eaton Centre, Scarborough Town Centre, and Vaughan Mills? Those are the only Disney Stores in Canada that are not closing, Yet. But it’s a shame that Yorkdale is closing. As well as Ottawa, Hamilton, Newmarket, and London. Those four Disney Stores in Ontario are closing. Along with Manitoba and Alberta. We lost British Columbia this July.

I have seen CM's on social media posting about receiving news of their own store closures this week - I'm anticipating we'll see the website start to show more locations closing. The pattern tends to be an announcement once a month around this time, with closures 3-4 weeks after the announcement.

I know that. First pattern was March 23. 2nd was was April 14. Then May 19, And then June 16, Then July 14, And now, August 18. We are not sure if September will have a closure. Not yet.

The latest closures in the UK have happened on schedule, with the last tranche due to be confirmed soon. However, there's still been a lot of criticism of shopDisney due to their failure to cope with increased demand, and the queueing system for limited releases has been met with mixed reaction. Some have praised it, but others (myself included) have slammed it for still favouring scalpers. Which leads to the big question: when eventually everyone is forced to use shopDisney in the absence of a local Disney Store, what's the satisfaction going to be like, and is it definitely going to be universally panned for its shortcomings and experience paling in comparison to the Disney Store experience? And will Disney eventually return to having physical stores lest all the malls become deserted and everyone is living in a hikikomori world dependent on a smart device to do everything including shopping?

I checked all 82 US remaining stores and 3 last surviving Canadian stores. None have the “Now It’s time to say goodbye”, Not yet.

I live about 5 minutes from the outlets in Hershey. The Disney store there is still open. I’m thinking it could be in its last days. Makes me sad to think it could possibly close.
Same with Smith Haven. I still miss The Mall at Palisades Center. That one closed on May 19, 2021.

Here's something surprising that I learned yesterday that might give Disney competition to reopen their stores and expand them to other stores. My mother told me that Macy's partnered with Toys "R" Us to sell toys during the holidays along with FAO Schwarz and it seems like a smart thing to do and also to revive the TRU chain. Now I often wondered why Disney Stores didn't partner with Macy's instead of Target or JCPenney? Because Macy's seems to want to be the king of everything and a Disney Store partnership with Macy's would've have saved the stores from closing and made it better. But as ShopDisney is growing I don't think we will see Disney Stores revived but I think Disney is planning to make the closed Disney Stores into Disney Store Outlets. And maybe perhaps Disney will think about adding the World Of Disney Stores to malls rather than in the parks
