I haven’t heard of a media event for the Skyliner. That’s sort of strange that they would have one for just the Skyliner. He just got Disney media and was told he could as it will be a media event, so we'll see.

I see this as a really big deal tbh; biggest debut thing since AK opened sort of since Disney springs was such a lengthy and piecemeal Reno and overhaul (aka 3 year garage builds).I haven’t heard of a media event for the Skyliner. yes they really need this to be successful with all the other headwinds they are dealing with on both coasts this season.I haven't heard anything about one either .... though it could makes sense - given the interest in but also some of the concerns about this mode of transportation, I could see getting a but of the bloggers and stuff to ride and then post a bunch of positive stories about it could get people excited but also provide evidence against those that have concerns, etc.
I wouldn't be surprised if Disney markets the Skyliner as an experience as well as transportation. It has already been featured on local newscasts, at D23, and the blog.I haven’t heard of a media event for the Skyliner. That’s sort of strange that they would have one for just the Skyliner.
To each their own but there is no way the Skyliner compares to the opening of a brand new park.I see this as a really big deal tbh; biggest debut thing since AK opened sort of since Disney springs was such a lengthy and piecemeal Reno and overhaul (aka 3 year garage builds).
Well of course. They use the monorail as that. I just don’t see the need for a major media event unless they pair it with something else like a sneak peak at Riviera or whatever else.I wouldn't be surprised if Disney markets the Skyliner as an experience as well as transportation. I'm expecting more of a news push, and maybe even a billboard on I-4.

A media event for this to me would just be weird. Take some pictures of a cabin, ride to a park and you’re done. Media events usually showcase lots of new things from the new attraction, to food, to merchandise and much more. Just seems odd to me.
I think you're reading too much into the term "media event". This year's first MNSSHP had a "media event", with bloggers invited and Disney PR cm's showing off displays of special food items and merchandise.Well of course. They use the monorail as that. And that happens every year to sell the event.I think you're reading too much into the term "media event". This year's first MNSSHP had a "media event", with bloggers invited and Disney PR cm's showing off displays of special food items and merchandise.
We're descending into semantics, but Disney uses "event" to apply to just about anything:Maybe "event" is the wrong term ... but I could see a "media preview" to let all the bloggers ride it a day early and get their postings out there and build some positive hype
Gotta remember people pay $20-40/ea to do one round trip in a lot of Tourist locations. In the last year I've paid $25 pp to ride on three different systems. This is not showing off a new bus, this is the equivalent of opening the first monorail or at least the Epcot monrail.I haven’t heard of a media event for the Skyliner. That’s sort of strange that they would have one for just the Skyliner.
Just to be clear, He "Spokesmayne" announced at his first "Media Event" on Saturday at Epcot that this "event" would take place within a few days not a day or 2 before opening, could be as soon as today or tomorrow...but as I said before ...we'll see.Maybe "event" is the wrong term ... but I could see a "media preview" to let all the bloggers ride it a day early and get their postings out there and build some positive hype
It will be funny if the big complaint ends up being that it will be too cold at night, "shut the vents!"
They run at ski resorts all the time why would they shut down?I think it will be. Since it was only "warm" fully clothed this time of year.
I guarantee they will need to be shut often in the winter. It was 29 degrees one night we were there.
She meant the vents would have to be shut. They run at ski resorts all the time why would they shut down?
