A clarification: When Iger said Disney could build "7 new lands" he was actually referencing a 2023 company statement that said Disney has "over 1,000 acres of land for possible future development ... across its existing sites - the equivalent of about 7 new Disneyland Parks."

During the Morgan Stanley teleconference, Disney CEO Bob Iger said the company "could actually build seven new full lands if we wanted to around the world." He also said they have enough land to expand Disneyland Resort by more than 50%.

FYI. D23 Membership Terms were recently changed. Some of the changes in terminology and substance are below. It looks like they are no longer calling it a magazine or publication, as they are now electing the right to have it be digital. Also, they now emphasize that you may get less than 4 editions a year. We noticed the magazines have become less robust, as they transitioned from thick card stock to thinner paper. I suspect they will either reduce the number of mailings to less than four and replace them with digital editions, or they may begin by adding digital editions to the current four mailings, and then gradually take away the printed ones.

For individual D23 Gold Memberships and D23 Gold Membership Duo Plans, please allow 4 to 6 weeks after activation of your membership for your first issue of the Disney twenty-three publication to arrive by mail. NEW: Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort will soon add the ability to search dining availability across multiple days in a single search. No more searching one day at a time. Disney says the feature is "coming soon."
When the feature is live, you'll be able to view available dining reservations for any given restaurants for up to 10 days at a time.

Am I the only one who was wowed by the fact that the grandkids, even Abigail who is often very outspoken again Disney, wrote in support of Iger and the current board in the current proxy battle? Like, if Abigail is against you over the Disney management that she regularly slams, how bad are you? Or is it just that they figure the new people would be bigger pushovers and easier to oust from power?

It is pretty weird to see Abigail on the side of Iger. She even made a point in her statement about having differences with Iger, but she sees that these new groups want to dismantle a lot of the company, which at least Iger does not want to do.

I hadn't noticed a difference between the newer and old magazines. But they're usually pretty beat up by the time we're done with them in my household because they get dropped around everywhere as one person reads one article then the next person grabs, folds it, etc.

We do enjoy having physical copies, though, so I hope that continues. I stare at enough screens every day!

Projection Mapped Dante Topiary Debuts at Flower & Garden

With the 2024 International Flower & Garden Festival in full bloom at EPCOT, the park has come alive with amazing topiaries, beautiful gardens, and delicious food.

While Flower & Garden is a special time at EPCOT every year, Disney has added even more magic to this year’s festival with an illuminating Wish topiary, a musical Groot topiary, and a special Encanto version of Beacons of Magic.

Earlier today, Disney announced that projection mapping technology was set to debut at Flower & Garden tonight in the form of a special new Coco topiary.

We here at MickeyBlog had to check it out, and as you can imagine, it is truly a sight to behold!

Dante Lights Up the Night​

Located near the Mexico pavilion, the Miguel and Dante Coco topiaries were already beautiful.

As night began to fall on EPCOT, however, Dante slowly but surely began to illuminate.

By nightfall, Dante was fully glowing, really showing off his alebrije form.

As you can see, Miguel’s topiary is unlit at night, giving Dante a real moment to shine.

Here is a look at the projection-mapped topiary from another angle. He looks great!

Hopefully, Disney will continue to add these special touches to the Flower & Garden Festival. Between the Wish topiary, Spaceship Earth’s Beacons of Magic, and now Dante, the festival really comes to life at night.

So, next time you visit EPCOT, be sure to stick around through nightfall. You never know what you will see!
