Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

Just been updating the Major Refurbs and Projects thread to remove Play pavilion as it is safe to say that project has been cancelled. But wondering if we've had any updates on Wondrous China replacing Reflections of China? Do you think its been cancelled too?
Does anyone know if they are still updating the movie in the China pavilion?

Hmm, wonder where this is? Tortuga Tavern is getting re-themed for more direct pirates content right?
I'm thinking the Stitch space could work, maybe also Tom Sawyer Island. They could also section off part of Tomorrowland terrace.
My money is on Stitch's Escape location for the DVC lounge.

Haven’t heard a thing. It’s currently still the last version. I think they were doing it in cooperation with the Chinese government. I thought it was announced at D23 Expo 2019. So, with Covid occupying them and subsequent relations with the US, I suspect it won’t happen soon, maybe ever🙁

Currently watching ResortTV's stream and the last Country Bear show didn't happen due to the Henry and Liverlips animatronics not working. It was reported that one of the bears was leaking hydraulic fluid so the show couldn't go on. CMs let guests do a walk through and take photos of the theater.

Last I heard was that they had filmed it before covid, but the installation if the seamless 360 screen was delayed. No idea if it'll become another cancelled Epcot Overhaul project or if it might be delayed just to give Epcot something new at some point when the other parks are getting more attention?

Liverlips was just protesting his name change to Romeo 🤣🤣

Hmm, so maybe the takeaway is that we should all collectively stop riding Journey Into Imagination with Figment in hopes that Disney will FINALLY give the ride the refurb it deserves. I mean, the interactive section looks exactly the same as it did when I first visited WDW back in the early 2000s.
I must be a time traveler, because I started implementing this plan years ago.

New Textures & Design Added To Communicore Hall

As crews continue to work on the CommuniCore Hall structure in World Celebration at EPCOT, it looks like there will be a starkly contrasting section closest to the World Nature section of the park.

While most of our coverage so far has been focused on the Mickey & Friends facade at CommuniCore Hall, crews are still hard at work in other areas, including a newly constructed concrete facade on the northwest side of the building. Here’s a look around from our recent visit to EPCOT.

The Spaceship Earth-style panels seen on the left of the images above is for the Mickey & Friends portion of the building. It’s not immediately clear what part of the building this new facade design is for, but there is an exhibition space that will be used for EPCOT Festivals, as seen in the concept art below.

From a vantage point near The Land Pavilion, we can see the differences in textures and designs.

Here’s a closer look at the facade and some concrete that appears to be a bit more finished than the image immediately above.

WDW seemed super busy last week, did i miss any speculation on the cause? Later January used to be pretty pretty slow, in pre-covid years.
