Disney After Hours returns to Walt Disney World in January 2023

I have exciting news to share: Disney After Hours events will return to Walt Disney World Resort starting January 2023! These fan-favorite experiences are scheduled to kick off January 4 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and January 9 at Magic Kingdom Park. They offer an incredible way to experience even more Disney magic during the last months of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” honoring the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary.

In case you aren’t familiar with Disney After Hours, these late-night, separately ticketed events let you enjoy a Walt Disney World theme park for three additional hours after regular park hours, with treats such as ice cream, popcorn and select beverages included. Best of all, the number of tickets for these events is limited, which means lower wait times for some of your favorite attractions.

At Magic Kingdom Park, this means you can enjoy more than 20 popular attractions such as Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios you can pilot the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, ride through a zany cartoon adventure in Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, shrink to the size of a toy in Toy Story Land and more.

With Disney After Hours tickets, you can enter the park where the event is taking place as early as 7 p.m. giving you the opportunity to get a jump on the fun! Disney After Hours admission is a separately priced ticket not included with regular daytime park admission. Event tickets for Magic Kingdom Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios can be purchased by all guests starting October 7, 2022, with prices ranging from $129 to $159 (plus tax). Guests of select Walt Disney World Resort hotels can begin purchasing Disney After Hours tickets as early as October 4. The advance-purchase window is available to Guests of Disney Resort hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels as well as Shades of Green at Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney Vacation Club members and Walt Disney World Annual Passholders can also purchase specially priced tickets for select dates.

Disney After Hours events at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are scheduled for select nights, January 4 through April 19, 2023. Disney After Hours events at Magic Kingdom Park are scheduled for select nights, January 9 through March 27, 2023. For a full list of events, dates and times, and to purchase tickets, visit the Disney After Hours page of DisneyWorld.com.
Kiss 11 pm closing times goodbye again.

Tickets for Tonight’s Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Are Available

Tickets have become available for the previously sold-out Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party for tonight.

This is most likely because so many guests have canceled their trips due to the impending Hurricane Ian that is slated to make landfall tomorrow in Central Florida.
I'd venture a guess that Friday and Sunday might have tickets available for the same reason. I know I could be very wrong about this, but I guess we'll see.

Disney Cruise Line Cancels September 30th Sailing of Disney Wish Due to Hurricane Ian

Disney Cruise Line has issued an update about the operational impacts of Hurricane Ian. Here’s the latest:

We have been closely monitoring Hurricane Ian with the safety and well-being of our Guests and Crew Members always top of mind. Due to the weather conditions most recently forecasted for Port Canaveral and Central Florida  and the impact that it might have on port operations, the  September 30, 2022, sailing of  the  Disney Wish has been canceled.

Disney World Halting Resort Check-In for 48 Hours as Hurricane Ian Passes

After Resort check-in is halted at 3pm tomorrow, September 28th, guests will not be able to check in to their resort until 48 hours later. Guests with resort reservations this weekend are being notified by Disney World that they should not show up before 3pm on Friday, September 30th. Any guests who attempt to check in before 3pm on Friday will not be allowed to check-in.

We fly out tomorrow at 8am, looks like it’s gonna be fine.

Was at MNSSHP tonight and they automatically gave everyone a free one day park hopper ticket good for a year because of the weather. Apparently they are automatically doing that for everyone who’s missing park days Wed and Thurs. As for the party though, I’m an AP so I’m currently in the huge guest services line asking what can be done since a park ticket doesn’t hold any value to me.

1971-Era Turnstiles Removed from Country Bear Jamboree at Walt Disney World

Earlier this year, Walt Disney World started removing the archaic turnstiles from ride entrances around the park. Attractions like Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress have seen their entrance spaces opened up thanks to this change, and now the Country Bear Jamboree is wide open too!

Walking into the opening day attraction in Frontierland, we see now a clear entrance with none of the former turnstiles or the bars with surrounded them remaining.

Disney World Hotels Roll Out Hurricane Meal Kit Menus

As is typical for modified operations during hurricanes, Walt Disney World has begun to roll out its hurricane meal kit menus for guests who are staying on property. A reader sent in the photo below of the hurricane meal kit menu from Port Orleans. Disney World will have limited food options for guests as long as it remains safe to do so.

Disney World Extends Suspension of New Resort Bookings Due to Hurricane Ian

According to the Walt Disney World website, Disney World has extended the “no availability” period for their resort hotels through October 1st. A current check of the website shows availability for arrivals beginning October 2nd. Previously, Disney had no availability through September 30th.
This means that Disney World is essentially not accepting new bookings for resort reservations until October 2nd as they continue to monitor Hurricane Ian. Disney World has suspended new bookings for a few reasons. First, guests currently staying at the resorts may have to extend their vacation if they cannot travel due to Hurricane Ian. Another reason that Disney is holding back rooms is for housing their Cast Members who will be part of the “ride out” team. Another reason that Disney could be holding back inventory is to reduce the number of guests in their hotels due to limited staffing.
