Thanks for letting us know! I went back in and got 11:15 as well.Today, we were able to go back into the check in process and got a new PAT time of 11:15 with boarding group 5. We previously had Noon and group 10.
Thanks for all the info! I had reserved a lunch table at Geddy's - what's your thoughts on that?Hey all! I was reading through this thread because I live in Bar Harbor. For those looking for ways to get into Acadia Nat’l Park… If all of the guided tours are booked, try renting a street-legal electric vehicle through Acadia GEM. I’m not affiliated with this business or any I mention here. Just wanted to provide some real world advice. The GEM cars really are the easiest way to get around when you don’t have a vehicle. And yes, taxis and Ubers are not easy to come by and some taxis are sketchy. If you’re dining in town the best places are West Street Cafe, Side Street Cafe, and Leary’s Landing. For shopping, I would definitely hit Sherman’s and the Acadia Shop on Main Street, they now have select LL Bean merch as they have recently partnered. I hope these tips help you all. I’m planning to get on my husband’s boat (he’s a commercial lobsterman) and get some cool pics around the ship, or as close to it as we are allowed! Safe travels and enjoy Bar Harbor! 🛳
You’re welcome! Geddy’s is one of my favorites! Everywhere in Bar Harbor will offer lobster, Geddy’s is no different. Their lobster stew is awesome! Also fantastic pizza if you aren’t in the mood for seafood. They also have really good cocktails if you are so inclined. And they usually have Downeast Cider on draft. Highly recommend that if you like hard cider. Enjoy your cruise! Thanks for all the info! I had reserved a lunch table at Geddy's - what's your thoughts on that?
I am super excited for your LL Bean advice, I used to love reading those catalogues at home all the time (I have lived in Australia for 35 years, and LL Bean became a kind of hallowed ideal of American outdoorsy-ness in our family!)

To get to the Bar Harbor Airport (located in Trenton about 20 minutes from the center of town, I recommend setting up service with Bar Harbor Shuttle. It is owned and operated by James Witham. His daughter and mine graduated high school together this past June. Super reliable with motor coach-vans.Hi Day-al!
I wish I would have seen your post earlier. We booked a rental car at the airport due to the make-up of our group (2 people with walkers). Our plan was to taxi/Lyft/Uber over to the airport but your post makes me very worried that we won't be able to find one to get my husband there/back. Is there any alternate methods to get to the airport? I was hoping to use the bus as a back-up but since they stop service a couple days before we arrive, that wont work.
Also, thanks for the restaurant info. What are your thoughts on the Downeast Deli to get picnic items for lunch while we drive around? Or do you have a better recommendation?
Lastly (and for me most importantly), what is your favorite ice cream place in town?
Thanks again for all your advice!!
Jane
Thanks for the recommendations! I had called Woody about a month ago and he was booked solid for tours. I'll check with him again to see if I can book a couple taxi rides. To get to the Bar Harbor Airport (located in Trenton about 20 minutes from the center of town, I recommend setting up service with Bar Harbor Shuttle. Downeast Deli is great! I haven’t eaten there bc I have celiac disease and have to follow a strict gluten free diet My husband likes it tbough!
For ice cream, I prefer CJ’s Big Dipper or Ben & Bills. Mt Desert Ice Cream is not great, over hyped and over priced.
I hope this helped you! Enjoy your cruise!!

Welcome to the sailing!!We just booked our cruise - seems it’s too late to join the FE group (my request is pending). Cruising with a family of three including our very excited 3.5 yo daughter. Will be sharing some pixie dust instead. Hope to see you all there!!
I agree it is TOTALLY confusing. They need to have ONE page that tells you EXACTLY what is needed for our cruise. That circular guidance is just laziness in the person who has to update the website.Anyone else find it bizarre that :
https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/why-cruise-disney/experience-updates/us-checklist/
states "The Disney Magic sailing departing New York on October 10, 2022: please review Requirements for Cruise Passengers Visiting Canada Sailings."
And if you click on the link that takes you to
https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/why-cruise-disney/experience-updates/canada-protocols/
Which then tells you that "All Disney Cruise Line Guests visiting Canada must adhere to health and safety protocols outlined on our Know Before You Go overview page, including those related to vaccination and testing." Meaning go look at the previous page, which told you to come to this one to get the requirements? circular guidance!
DCL also states there "Per the Canadian government, all travelers, regardless of vaccination status, must wear face coverings throughout their entire travel journey while in Canada, including in cruise terminals, COVID-19 testing areas, airports and aircraft." Yet if you actually go to the updated Canadian government website at:
https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid?u...ing-canada&utm_medium=redirect&utm_content=en
It says there's no mask or testing requirement at all.
Hoping by Saturday they'll have dropped the testing requirement before we all deal with it, but no such luck so far it seems.
Bummer, they did update the Canada sailings page yesterday (4 Oct), and while it removes the mask confusion (none required), it does still say pre-testing required even for fully vaccinated guests. Wonh wonh.Anyone else find it bizarre that :
