Discover Atlantis time of 11:15

As stated above, I was assigned a Discover Atlantis time of 11:15. Having never done this before, when do I want to leave the ship? Where do I go for the bus? Is the right bus easy to identify? Besides the waterpark, is there anything else at Atlantis worth seeing if we do it "on our own".

Did you book through DCL? If so, the info about where and when to meet will be on your excursion tickets which will be in your cabin when you arrive - or delivered that evening.

Oh! Great! Thanks, Dug! Yes, I booked through DCL. I'm finding out so many little things that help me know how to do this. Not hard, if you know. Clearly, you are a pro!

Thanks, again!

You're welcome! :) I couldn't answer the other part of the question about Atlantis as I've not done it. But I know that the meeting time and place will be on your tickets. :) Enjoy your cruise!!

I did Atlantis on another cruise line. I assume you will disembark and be taken to your bus to the resort as a group, so no issues finding the right bus. On the way back, the buses for all cruise lines stop in the same area outside Atlantis. They are well marked. I remember seeing a DCL bus while we were waiting. We were jealous.

In addition to the water park, we enjoyed the aquarium. There is a casino too if you are into that.

Does your excursion include tickets to the aquarium? If not, you can check out buying them once you get there -- although I've heard they go fast. We did an excursion that included a tour, the aquarium and then free time. We loved it there -- walk the grounds and find all the marine life pools! We saw turtles and stingrays, etc. Beautiful place. The bus told us when the last pick up was (I think 3:00 or 3:30). It was all so convenient. I think our tour left before 11:15.

Thanks, RedSox! That is all good information. Yes, we have aquarium tickets and The Dig or ruins tour. That's plenty and if you're saying the grounds are worth the effort, we'll be sure to check that out. Thanks again.

Thanks for the question DWillowBay. I'm anxious to get more details about this excursion. I'd love to hear about your experience in 2 months!!

I just read the description for the Discover Atlantis excursion.
Highlights are:

... length 2 - 4 hours
... narrated 25-minute drive through historic Nassau
... 45-minute guided tour of the ruins of ancient Atlantis at The Dig, an elaborate replica of an archeological site ... Explore a labyrinth of underground passageways, where large viewing windows framed by age-old hieroglyphics are filled with exotic marine life-from docile sea lions and manta rays to fierce-looking piranha and gigantic lobsters.
... Stroll through Predator Lagoon
... After the tour, feel free to enjoy the rest of the afternoon as you desire: you can visit the casino, spend some time shopping in the Marina Village or simply wander through the impressive lobby of the Royal Towers.
... make your way back to the designated pick-up point and begin the 15-minute drive back to the pier

Has anyone done this excursion? Does "The Dig" include what would be the indoor aquarium? Do you have to stay with the tour group or can you move at your own pace? I occasionally have mobility challenges.

Disney notes there is 15 minute walk to/from bus location plus additional walking during the tour. I can do this if I can move at my own pace.

Be aware that as part of the "tour", the guide walks you through the aquarium rather quickly and points out very interesting facts and displays. At the end when we finished at the aquarium exit and she said we were now on our own, we went back into the exit and went through the aquarium to spend more time at some of the exhibits. So don't get frustrated if you don't get to see everything or spend more time during the tour.

Thank you, so much Red Sox. This is really good information. My son is autistic and I can see that he would want to spend time "communing" with the fishes. This gives me great hope that I can give him the time he might want at the exhibits. Thanks again!
