I recently purchased an AP for my upcoming trips to WDW. I now want to order the DDE card (love 20% savings! :) ).

Do I call Disney Dining to order this or another number. CAn someone post the number to call?

Thanks!
Terri

Disney Dining Experience

There is a link on the AP site (I think) where you can print out the order form & fax it to them also. IIRC, just put Disney Dining Experience in the search box.

I paid $65 with the passholder discount, and I made one trip with DW, Sis and her DH and three kids. In four days, I believe it paid for itself, and like the annual pass is good for a year. Good for food and beverages including alcohol for your party of ten.
Don't forget with your annual pass, you have discounts on merchandise at Downtown Disney as well as food and beverage discounts at Downtown restaurants.
There is a link on the Disney website for passholders which lists all the benefits of your pass. Check it for a complete list of dining discounts.

It was $50 in 2005...thought it was $60 in 2006.

We have AP's and are thinking about getting the card for when we head down in Dec with my parents. My question is...if we have the card I know it goes on that persons bill, which would be mine or my husbands...but would my Dad be able to slip in the credit card to pay? I know they will want to, but it would be nice to save some money. Hope this makes sense! popcorn::

you can call now and order the card....tell them when your vacation will begin and they will send you a card with that beginning/exp date on it.....just did this.

I was trusting my memory. If I am incorrect, bill me for the five bucks.

They say the memory is the first thing to go, and I can never remember what the second thing is.
:confused3

:confused3 I thought you had to have a package in order to get the DDE card. We are AP holders and inquired about it before our last trip this past June. We were told we could only get this if we purchased a package.

DH and I are going back next week for a long weekend without the kids and are interested. What's the deal?

Yvette

Thanks everyone.

Yvette - the DDE (Disney Dining Experience) card is good for 20% off food and drinks (all kinds). Must have an AP to purchase.

Maybe you were thinking of the DDP (Disney Dining Plan, which you must purchase a package in order to get)

I'd give them a call....It only took me 2-3 weeks to receive mine.

Thank you for answering. Will do. I just decided that I would do that again since the other dinning plan is too much food for us and all that planning. I just rather get the 20% dinning discount card and eat where I want. Do you know where they have a list of the restaurants it includes especially for next year? I had a card this year but expired in April. I hope the list is the same. Thanks again for any help. Carol :goodvibes

I can remember many years ago when it was just for FL residents, it was $20 when I first started purchasing it. You got 2 cards too for that price! Last year I want to say I paid $60... and still had my second card free & then they changed it right after mine was renewed. Now they are charging an additional $25 for that second card. That to me is just a way of trying to up the price to $85! IE: husband & wife...one card each get discount.. then husband & wife with $25 added fee for 2nd card..each get discount.

When I called yesterday (for our first week of Dec. trip) I was told that the card activates immediately upon purchase (not like the AP voucher) and I should wait to order it until Nov. 6th.. When I asked what would happen if it didn't arrive in time she said I would be able to pick up a temporary card somewhere (I think she said Epcot).. :confused3

Yep, the bad part about the card is it doesn't activate when you
first use it, but when you order it.

We just ordered ours for our oct 1 trip, yesturday. So, it has all of this month and sept to arrive.

The lady on the phone, said it would take 4-6 weeks.

Someone else asked if you could get this at the park. No, you can not wait to get the DDE card at the park, you have to order it before you get to disney. If you order it really late and it doesn't arrive in time, I'm not sure of the options.

Last year, they sent emails to you, and you could use them to get the discount. I didn't ask on the phone yesturday, since we have a good 6 weeks before our trip. If it doesn't show up close to the trip, then I'll be calling back.

We're DVC members and since we took my in-laws with us in January they insisted on paying for the meals. We used our DDE card and never had a problem with FIL using his credit card. It is so worth the money, especially if you like an alcoholic drink with your meal. At restaurants we generally tip around 20% for really good service anyway so we think of it as taking care of our tip. It all adds up!

don't understand why she told told you that....I am holding my new card in my hand and it is dated as expiring 10/31/2007. I received this about 3 weeks ago. The CM asked me when my vacation was, I told her in November and the card is dated to begin when my vacation does....well, a couple of days before we go on 11/3. Maybe call back and try again with a new CM.
