D23 Destination D 2016: Amazing Adventures - FULL AGENDA post 132 (pg7)

:) @Accident That is strange. It gave me both the options when I signed on. You've refreshed, and signed out and back in? Still nothing?

It put 2 VIP tickets into the "cart" and they are stuck there. I can't seem to do anything but move forward and pay for vip. I even tried from other computers and those 2 vip tickets are stuck. I suspect the system might have an issue as trying to call them says leave a message or call back when we're not so busy.

Tickets for this event went on sale today (4//21/16) at 1:01pm PDT. The Wilderness Explorer VIP tickets ($1,100 each) were already wait-listed at 1:30pm (Good thing my finger was on the trigger at 1:01pm!). Through the D23 ticket link, I was able to get 3 Wilderness Explorer VIP tickets and room at Grand Floridian (Garden View, Outer Building) at $295.00 per night! The same room is regularly $649.00! The Grand is MUCH nicer then the Contemporary Resort. The rooms are boring at Contemporary! I stayed the the Contemporary last D23 (2014) and it was nothing special. The link for all three hotels was active (Grand, Contemporary, and Port Orleans) when I bought my tickets. I'm local, we live 45 minutes from the parks!

Got our Destination D tickets & room at the GF! (Great price on this resort). We'll be there 11/17-11/21. All I need now is a MVMCP ticket for the 18th!

Did you feel like the VIP ticket was worth it? And are you planning to purchase it again?

From what I can tell, the advantages are front row seats, extra goodies, and a private event. Any other perks that help round out the value? What was the exclusive give that you received last time and was it in addition to the gift given to general admission?

TIA!

Sorry that I just saw this. I managed to score a VIP ticket, and they were on wait list by the time I went back to the site after paying. Main page says they are sold out.

I did VIP last Destination D. In terms of perks, there was a separate VIP line for check in and VIPs were allowed into the Archives exhibit and Mickey's of Glendale store 2 hours before the general ticket holders. The night before it started there was a nighttime event with a private ride on Carousel of Progress, a photo op with Tony Baxter and Marty Sklar, and a dinner at Fort Wilderness and viewing of the Electrical Water Pagent. During the actual Destination D, there was a VIP lounge with snacks and drinks that you could sit in instead of waiting in line to enter the ballroom. When it was time, somebody got us and escorted us into the ballroom first. Once we were in our seats, they started to let the general ticket holders in. The first 4 rows in the ballroom were reserved for us. Our gift bags has a few extra things that the regular one had, like H2O products, a crystal paperweight, and a Disney Infinity figure. As a final gift, all of the VIPs were given a plastic character made from the World's Fair machine. They gave away five of them to the regular crowd.

All in all, while it was pricey, I liked going VIP. Just being able to get into Mickey's of Glendale early was huge, and a lot of the limited quantity stuff never made it to the general ticket holders. Being able to sit in a quiet room and eat a bagel for breakfast was way nicer than standing in the general queue, too.

Yes, the last D23 was a lot of fun! We purchased a ton of merchandise at the Mickey's of Glendale pop-up store! I brought my camera last time. You were not allowed to take photos during the event, but you were able to take photos after the presentations. I have photos of all of the displays, such as Marty Skylar sitting in Mr Toad's Wild Ride, and the photos from the private event at Carousel of Progress with Marty Skylar and Tony Baxter.

Ditto to everything you said, except I live in NY and only got one VIP Ticket as I'm coming solo :)! I was STUNNED to see that rate at The Grand myself! So exciting. Looks like I'll see you there.

So Sorry to hear that, I really hope you were able to get it all cleared up. I know this may be the silliest question, but I guess there was nowhere that said empty your cart, or no "Clear" or "X" button hiding anywhere to let you start over? It just seems so surprising that this was a difficult fix. As I said, hope you were able to figure it out.

Nope, but I did get an email that I was no longer on the waiting list and I just need to pay by 5pm PST today or I'll go back on the waiting list.. At least this email had an email for ticket help but that came back with "we'll get back to you in a couple days" auto-response... I think I'm in a never ending circle and hopefully it doesn't sell out.. The email was a little nerve wracking as it said "even if the site is closed for being sold out, I can still get in to pay for the vip tickets"..

Thanks! I made it in and I'm so excited! I'm coming solo unless I can recruit non-vip's to come with me! I also saw this response on FB shortly after they sold out. I was in and out in less than 60 seconds and by the time I refreshed the original screen, they were sold out! I'd love to know how many people where trying to buy tickets vs. how many tickets they sold.

I'll see you there!!

To follow up, I finally was able to get 2 GA tickets and this is the worst system that disney has in place.. It took someone adjusting the tickets and manually changing them to GA in order to be able to purchase.. any type-o on ticket type, qty, etc and you need someones help and they only do it in email and it can take days to get someone to investigate it.

I'm really excited! I am attending (GA) and now trying to figure hotels. I am not sure exactly what I'd like to do... or what I can talk my husband into!!

Maybe a stupid question, but are GA tickets transferrable before the event start? Can I "gift" a ticket purchased for myself to someone else?

Are there ticket options as well? And are there still GA tickets available? I'm trying to decide whether to go to this solo or not!

I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that. I know that's the biggest issue with D23 that you can only get in touch with them through e-mail basically. It's given me some problems in the past, but have always found a resolution. I'm glad now that it's all said and done, you were able to get the two tickets you wanted! :)

I'm fairly certain all tickets are non refundable, and non transferable :/.

General admission tickets are still available for $190 (D23 Gold Members) or $250 (D23 General Members).
