Cruise combined with Universal

We are taking our first Universal trip (because of Harry Potter ) but combining it with a Disney Cruise. Does anyone here know what some good options would be besides renting a car? Have you had experience with other shuttle services besides Disney?

We rented a car from Hertz which has a location at/near Hard Rock Hotel. The car was delivered to us and we dropped it off at Hertz near the port and took their shuttle to the port. It seems silly to rent a car for such a short period of time, but it was much more economical for our family of five.

The Harry Potter attractions at Universal are fantastic! Enjoy your adventure!

Ummmm this is a bizarre thread. We are doing same thing as you with universal first and then heading to port. When are you cruising? It’s also bizarre as we are from Illinois too.
I have a hertz car being delivered to us at the end of our universal stay and doing what MUN described.

For our last 4 family spring breaks, we have done 3 nights Disney, 4 night Dream cruise and 2 days/nights at Universal - because of this, we found that car rental park at port was best option - for our itinerary, we get off the ship about 8:30, drive straight to universal - check in at hard rock, and then we walk to the Universal and are there by little after 10:30. With front of line privleges, we were able to tour that same day and the next.

A lot depends on your itinerary - are you cruising before or after your trip? If you are going to airport, flight timing comes into play as you may consider onboard check in....

We used uber to get from Universal hotel to the port last year and will do that again later this month. Not a fan of driving, especially in strange cities, much prefer being chauffeured lol. Can't wait!!

We do this too. Our first trip we used the Universal associated shuttle to Universal, car rental from Cabana Bay to port, then Disney bus to the airport after cruise. My husband hated all the shuttles and waiting at the airport all day, so since then we have rented cars. This year we got an amazing 10+ day car rental rate so we're keeping the car the whole time - even with parking at a hotel near port it's cheaper than renting three different times and much more convenient.

We stayed two nights at Universal before our cruise in 2016. We had Happy Limo pick us up from the airport on our first day, and drive us to the port on our last day! We were very pleased with the service. Our driver let us stop at Publix on the way to the resort. The driver we had from resort to port got us to the port before they were even letting people in!

Just a heads up that Avis now is dropping off cars at universal and will shuttle you from their office in port canaveral as of this week.

We did a cruise first then 4 days at Universal. We booked a private shuttle (semi private might be the better way to describe it) called Laura’s shuttle. They picked us up from Port Canaveral and dropped us off at Portofino Bay, then a few days later picked us up and took us to the airport. I believe it cost about $150 for the five of us.
