I just want you to know, I feel forced to play along this week. We are packing up our kitchen this week for a remodel. There are several almost empty bottles that now do not need to get packed.

Any ideas on what to do with crème de cacao without needing to buy ice cream?

My go-to is Reisling. But sometimes I like to make a batch of espresso martinis.

I just want you to know, I feel forced to play along this week. We are packing up our kitchen this week for a remodel. There are several almost empty bottles that now do not need to get packed.

Any ideas on what to do with crème de cacao without needing to buy ice cream?

  • 1 1/2 ounces vodka
  • 3/4 ounce coffee liqueur
  • 1/2 ounce crème de cacao
  • 1 ounce espresso, chilled
  • 3 coffee beans, for garnish

  1. Add ingredients to cocktail shaker:
Add the vodka, coffee liqueur, crème de cacao, and espresso to a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice.

  2. Shake cocktail and pour into glass:
Shake the cocktail vigorously for 15-30 seconds, then strain into a martini or coupe glass.

  3. Garnish and serve cocktail:
Garnish with the three coffee beans, placing them in a fan shape over the top of the drink. Serve.

Ok, bar setups:
Bar cart.
yes there are two bottles of Aviation gin. The one with the smaller cabinet is HUGE, and hard to handle, so we pour it into the smaller bottle for use. Wines are hidden behind the gin, lol. The smaller cabinet also has the unopened Bittermilk mixers on teh top shelf. In the drawer are all the tiki umbrellas/picks/bamboo straws and flavored sugars/salts for rimming.
I've realized I have one bottle of tequila, one bottle of vodka, and the two bottles of the same gin. The rest of it are rums and whiskeys/bourbons.

I bought a big bar cabinet last year and love it so much.

Closed with tiki mug shelves visible on the left:

I showed this to DH, first the picture with the doors closed and then scrolled down to the one showing the stocked bar. His comment? "Nice... oh NICE!" Guess what we are getting when DD/SIL/TheBoy move out?? Might be awhile, and we won't have space until then, but we LIKE this bar set-up!

Havana Lights

2oz light rum
1oz dark rum
1oz Midori Melon Liquor
3oz Pineapple Juice
1oz Cream of Coconut

mix all in cocktail shaker on ice, shake until combined, pour into chilled glass, top with lemon lime soda if too strong.

Drank this everyday on the beach in Mexico!!

Enjoy all!!

Buy Monin syrups. They have a lavender one. This is the brand many high end establishments use. Syrups run $11-13 on Monin.com with free shipping at $39. I have several flavors.
I so agree...Monin is the way to go. And they always have a coupon code.

Blackberry Bramble
2 oz. blended whiskey (I use Crown Royal)
1 oz. blackberry syrup (Monin of course)
1/2 fresh squeezed lemon
5 blackberries (this is optional, but a nice touch)

I muddle the blackberries in a shaker. Like I said optional.
Throw in the rest of the ingredients.
Shaker well.
Pour over crushed ice.

You can garnish with lemon peel and a blackberry, but I'm not that fancy.
