It Happpened One Night - First film to win the Oscar "grand slam" (Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director and Screenplay).
I caught this on TCM this week, and it's held up very well.

I've always been a fan of Gone With the Wind...but I'm more of a musical kind of fan. My favorite has always been Meet Me in St Louis! LOVE that movie!!

I love all of the Fred & Ginger movies!!! Actually I love all old movies!

But my absolute favorite is The Thin Man with William Powell & Myrna Loy!

So many!

Fantasia
Gone With the Wind
Breakfast At Tiffany;s
All 4 Miss Marple movies starring Margaret Rutherford
Sabrina
Roman Holiday
To Kill A Mockingbird

That's just to name a few.....:)

:teeth: I overdosed on old classics when I first got my TiVo, but I'm a MAJOR sucker for all the old musicals:

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
Oklahoma
Carousel
Holiday Inn
Show Boat
On the Town
High Society
Unsinkable Molly Brown
and those already mentioned

Denise < --- needs "corny old movies" sometimes :)

I like The Heiress, it was on a couple nights ago :)

I really want to see Roman Holiday but it always is on when I cant watch it! Grr.

My all time favorite movie is Casablanca...it kills me every time!

Tonight I am going to some new film club set up by the local arts center and they are showing Lawrence of Arabia. Should be fun!

Jungle Josh

All the above mentioned films are worthy of being mentioned for sure but my favorites are:

Its a Wonderful Life.

Bringing up Baby.

Early Marx Brothers.

Just about any Laurel and Hardy short film.

Full length L&H Way Out West or Sons of the Desert, I also love the one where Stan smokes his own hand as a pipe and Chumps at Oxford is a total CLASSIC, get to see Stan play a totally differant character!

Whattya mean Fail-Safe is an obscure film!!
