When we were up at my MIL's house over the summer, we got to see Trevor Morgan perform at her church. We really liked quite a few of his songs, and bought his album The Blessed and the Broken.

The song "He'll take care of the rest" is my go to happy song!

I like the contemporary songs too.

But I also think the classic hymns of the church need to stay. We discussed this in SS last week, and most of us agreed our kids should learn at least some of the *old hymns too. If they don't, they'll eventually be lost forever.

I like our 3rd service where both contemporary and classic hymns are sung. And IMHO, the original A Mighty Fortress is Our God is the best of the best.

I completely agree with you......on both counts.
Thankfully my two teen DDs are growing up with both classic, traditional hymns and contemporary praise songs. Our school Bible class opens each day singing a hymn, and our church does a mixture of both. The deep, rich doctrine in the hymns is important. It is also important to teach the church heritage. So much wonderful truth there!

DD and I went to a tobyMac concert last weekend. It was my first time to see him in concert. To be honest, I only went for my DD; she had a VIP meet and greet pass. I went so I could take a picture of her with him. However, I have to confess I enjoyed myself tremendously. His heart seemed so pure, so genuine.
This was my favorite song from the concert.

Hey everyone. It has been a while since a song has been posted. I heard this one for the first time today and came home to look it up online. It really hit home as we are going through a tough time right now with my DH's job. He comes home every day looking like the weight of the world is on his shoulders. It breaks my heart to see him like that. I appreciate that he gets up and goes in each day. He is such a hard worker and wonderful provider for our family.

Stamper, I have been playing that very song numerous times recently! I know God has given it to me for this time of difficulty. DD and I went to a Casting Crowns concert a few weeks ago, and when I heard it, it so spoke to my heart! Thank you for that reminder.
