Check in recently with under 5

I know things have been changing by the day, but I am still paranoid about not booking a time, even if we don't currently need one in the cubs. For those of you that have checked in over the last week or so since the reservations have been lifted, is it still an option to book even if you hope to not need it once on board? Or has it been removed as part of the check in all together. That is all that really bothers me for staying up to check in. Everything else does not really have a time crunch. We will be on DCL bus, so don't need a PAT either. Thanks for the help
