basically the wcc menu is charging so its only the skillet, with no salad, and a vegan choice now...

no ala carte choices anymore, inc for allergies....

I think that's just for dinner. As far as I know the lunch menu has no skillet and is just a la carte.

''Starting this week, Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge will be changing its menus. The most notable change is that the famous "all you care to eat" skillet will no longer be available at lunch. At dinner, the skillet will become a "platter", that will include your choice of three of five meats offered (choose from ribs, chicken, sliced beef, fish, smoked sausage) plus four side dishes (mixed vegetables, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes and baked beans). If you order platter "refills," you can choose any of the meats even if they were not one of the original three that you chose. Cornbread will still be included, but salad is not. A dessert sampler will also be included with dinner. (The platter is NOT offered at lunchtime.)'' Taken from AllEars

lunch is completely a la carte - no skillet, but i don't see anywhere where it says there is no more a la carte for dinner.
i see the changes in the skillet, but not that a la carte is no longer available.

If you read the link there's someone posting full info on there. It looks like either or, not both.

i read the link - they show the lunch menu, where the skillet has been removed and now lunch is only a la carte.

But there is no dinner menu posted, so i don't know how that appears yet.

Is it really just the skillet for dinner? I find it very hard to believe that they've removed all a la carte choices from the dinner menu.

But maybe they have - i have to see the actual menu to know what is actually offered, not rumored to be offered.

Having a re-think about WCC. Not sure that everyone would want the skillet at dinner if a la carte isn't available. If I order a skillet, will they do a veggie version? Don't fancy the quinoa.

Granted its only what someone haas posted on that thread. Lunch will be a la carte only, dinner will be skillet only. Apparently it will help with the efficiency of everything, guests ordering quicker as there are less options to choose from, quicker turnover for tables etc

I wasn't overly excited about this restaurant in the first place so it's not a big deal if we switch this now, I like to ave a lot of choice when I eat so this doesn't sound like a place I would enjoy now, we booked it mainly for the ketchup drama! Lol

thats right gem, a la carte ie no skillet for lunch and skllet no a la carte for dinner, its a shame *** we enjoy it there, and my family all love the skillet, pity is due to my allergies i may struggle so will be interested in reports if people get other options for medical reasons... hey ho, just so everyone knows!!

we enjoyed it last year, but DD said that this year when she was there and she asked for ketchup the CM brought ketchup. not the whole show.

DD said the CM was totally boring and didn't do anything special. What's up with that????

she said the CMs at rose and crown were more interactive than their server at WCC...
so she said she wouldn't eat there again...especially since she prefers the food in other restaurants better...

Yep can confirm this as we ate there tonight, no more entrees, just the skillet. Gary was going to order that anyway but I wanted the steak so sucked for me.
Also no more dessert to take out, it now comes as part of the all you can eat
One of the options is jalapeño cheesecake, Gary spat it out, said it was horrible

I'm re thinking my ADR that I have for dinner in December. We would have been ordering the skillet, but DH especially would have liked the salad. The dessert choices don't sound great either.

We had an ADR for October 5th, but we are cancelling. WCC was our favorite...It is a sad day in the Milbert household

we certainly won't be eating there for dinner - and after looking at the new lunch menu, we won't be eating there for lunch either!!!

Jalapeno cheesecake sounds gross. I'm wondering where to eat now as it's a bit late to start swapping ADR's.:confused3

To be fair the cheesecake is a jalapeño lime cheesecake, I'm certainly going to give it a try.
Really looking forward to the skillet too!

It's never too late to switch ;). TBH most of ours are booked once we get there now - only book a couple of pre-rope drop breakfasts and maybe a couple of dinners before we go.
