Cane Garden Bay, Tortola

Have any of you had experience visiting Cane Garden Bay on Tortola? We are considering doing on our own. Any advice?

Horrible! We went in November and it was not in great condition yet and the area behind the beach was super shady. There was glass and trash all over the beach and the buildings were still in shambles. There was a murky stream running down to the water from the mountain with tons of trash. Jost Van Dyke May be the way to go.

We did the island tour with it and it was so sad. They were not ready for people yet and the stop was dirty with one toilet.

Jost van dyke looks beautiful but quite hefty price

We had an amazing time there in February. Beautiful, inexpensive. But, yes, the island is still recovering. The trip over there showed much that still needed to be repaired.

Agree on the journey there but the beach is fine

We did this excursion. We enjoyed it. The taxi/bus ride over the island was an adventure. You have to keep in mind you're in a different country and traffic and driving can be well..... different. The guides were great. Yes, the island is still repairing from the hurricane, its' quite evident on the trip over to the Bay. You are welcomed with beautiful views on the trip over the mountains. The Bay itself was great. My kids liked the time there. It was pretty and clean. We only paid $5 for an umbrella/chairs.

We were there in Thanksgiving 2018. Loved it. Beach super nice and not crowded. Yes its not like other beaches with tons of amenities but for us it was great. We're going again in Dec and will definitely go again.

It had a make shift bar/snack shop, small souvenir stand, adequate restrooms. Not a polished beach, but for us it was quite, not crowded and beautiful. And it rained when we were there!

This beach was almost exact opposite of Castaway Cay. Quiet, not crowded (though crowded for us is the Jersey Shore), and picturesque. Its not like CC in that there isn't a buffet, tons of shops, etc. But we thought it was well kept, and clean.

I am really glad to hear it is better. Our day was really not good.
