Canadian Buffoon's North South Vacation - New! 09/01 - Of course there's a contest

Eh??? Eh?????
You say that to a Canadian???

You dare use my own spells against me, Potter?
I said eh not ay.

Eh rhymes with meh.
Ay rhymes with day.

Good day, ay?
You're such a hoser, ay!

Yeah but your 7 countries all fit into North Dakota.
No they....err you might be right. Can't believe I just said that about YOU. :rotfl2:

D*mn! Why did I go to Luxembourg and Lichtenstein?

Edit: HAH!!!! Nope, you're wrong. Much easier to type that.

France: 213,011 sqmi
Germany: 137,988

North Dakota: 68,944

Even using Montana, which is initially what I thought you said, it's 145,566

Glad you didn't say AK.

Well this just made my day, a new Trip Report by Ponzi!

I'll hang on every word, I'll wait with eager anticipation for each chapter, but I'll leave the contest to others who don't have to catch up and binge like I will have to over the next couple months. It's fun to read everyone's guesses!!
Congratulations to your lovely daughter! It sounds like she really needed this trip, and you too!

Can't wait to read more, thank you for taking us along,
Dawn

Well howdy neighbour. :)
:welcome: To the TR!

Absolutely. I have a sure-fire way to get rid of them.

It’s called………… snow.

:lmao:

Sure ya wanna win?

But you can’t win if you don’t play. ;)
I'll take some snow if that will murder enough mozzies to make life bearable again 😁
Any who.... Me me! I want to play! D!!!!

Hey folks! Been a while.
At least it's been a while since I've written anything of note.
Yeah, seriously! The last time was...

No, I guess you're right.

The contest will involve you, dear reader,
trying to win a prize.
What? You want to know how to win?
It beats blindly stumbling around in the dark, which is how I go through every other part of my life.

In every chapter that I write,
I'll ask a question or two (or three... who knows?!)
There'll be real easy questions too.
Like... "What's your favourite snack?"
Bacon! Oh, wait, we're not starting yet. Sorry.

Some questions will involve a bit of
guesswork, like... "Where do we go next
I'm always sooo good at these random guesses.

I'll also hide a few things in the photos.
How many photos will depend on how I feel.
But I'll always tell you how many to look for,
so you're not searching incessantly for hours on end.
My eyesight has gotten progressively worse over the last couple years. Can't wait!

If you wanna play, say "Me! Me! I wanna play!"
Me! Me! I wanna play!

The prize will probably be dependent
on the winner and the winner's location.
I usually award the winner with Canadian chocolate,
but if you're in the UK or Canada, you can get that
on your own.
I was hoping for a seat on that Alaska cruise, but I guess chocolate is almost as good.

A year later (and a full year as a teacher under her belt)
we finally made it down to celebrate her success.
Congrats Elle! I know how hard teachers work.

I'm the pretty one on the right.
Someone pretty on the right? Maybe under the railing? Hard to see.

After not being able to travel, the bug really itched.
I think they make a cream for that.

But seriously, I know what you mean.

For those of you slightly puzzled by
"Not-quite-so-far North" when talking about Alaska...
The cruise's most northern stop is Skagway, AK,
which is about 200 miles/320 kilometers south of Yellowknife.
(And about 700 miles/1,100 kilometers west.)

You certainly have spent quite a bit of time in the far North.

When I'm all finished writing about Disney,
I'll leave it up to you whether you want to hear
about any, all, or none of the above journeys.
::yes:::wave2:

How many minutes in total did we wait for busses?
a. 30-60
b. 60-90
c. 90-120
d. 120-240
e. More than 240
I'm gonna go with C.

I said eh not ay.

Eh rhymes with meh.
Ay rhymes with day.
Don’t teach your grandmother how to suck eggs.
You dare tell a Canadian this???

:rotfl:
Good day, ay?
You're such a hoser, ay!
Rick Moranis is spinning in his grave…
And he’s not even dead!

No they....err you might be right. Can't believe I just said that about YOU. :rotfl2:
I’m having this framed!

You spent wayyyy (rhymes with ‘eh’) too much time on that. :faint:

Well this just made my day, a new Trip Report by Ponzi!
Dawn! Hi!
Nice seeing you again!
And :welcome: to the TR!

I'll hang on every word, I'll wait with eager anticipation for each chapter,
As you should! :snooty:

:rolleyes1
but I'll leave the contest to others who don't have to catch up and binge like I will have to over the next couple months.
Sorry you’re not gonna play…
But I do understand.

It's fun to read everyone's guesses!!
You can play along as you catch up…
You’ll have the benefit of knowing
all the answers!
Congratulations to your lovely daughter! It sounds like she really needed this trip,
I’ll pass that along. :)
and you too!
Oh Lord, yes. :faint:
Can't wait to read more, thank you for taking us along,
Thanks for reading! :goodvibes

Ok. Me me I want to play. Think I’m going to have to fire up the old laptop for this. I literally do everything on my phone. I’m going to be a rebel and guess A. You have a horseshoe up your butt when it comes to time waiting on busses. 😁 Stay at a Skyliner resort and your bus time will really go down.

One of those states you went to better not have been Ohio or anywhere close to me!!! I want to hear about all your travel.

We want to do a cruise to Alaska someday. But we booked one to the Bahamas from Baltimore. It’s close enough to drive there because we aren’t paying those crazy airline prices. Going in February for a week.

Doc S - how’s life in Europe?

No...pretty sure Canadians(at least you) already know how to suck eggs. Can't even get your bacon right....it's HAM! :rotfl2:

Rick Moranis is spinning in his grave…
And he’s not even dead!
The shrunken one or normal size?

And why would dark helmet care?

I’m having this framed!
Please note....

The word --- might

You spent wayyyy (rhymes with ‘eh’) too much time on that. :faint:
Peh!

Oh wait, bet you think that rhymes with way also?

:P

Actually, I really did think you said Montana at first. I thought, yeah, Montana's pretty big. More of a for my own edification thing really.

Doc S - how’s life in Europe?
Loving travel. Work sucks! Not the job that was advertised or interviewed for. Best analogy I've been able to cime up with:

You hired me to be the chemistry teacher and you put me in the home ec room. Not the supplies or tools I need to do my job.

Looking for a new job that actually has/uses/needs what I do.

Woooo a new trip report! As I think you saw on Instagram we finally got married on Friday, so now that I have no big time-consuming life events to plan (only a big time-consuming baby to look after) I can spend a bit more time on the DIS woohoo!

If you wanna play, say "Me! Me! I wanna play!"

Me! Me! I wanna play!

This is us.

Elle is so beautiful !

(Also, * * searches frantically for Marvin the Martian * *)

How many minutes in total did we wait for busses?
a. 30-60
b. 60-90
c. 90-120
d. 120-240
e. More than 240

And just to make things even easier for you...
I'm going to tell you how many busses we took.

We rode 17 busses.

Heck, I'll even help you with the math.
If the average wait time is:
5 minutes, the total time waiting is 85 minutes
10 minutes, the total time waiting is 170 minutes
15 minutes, the total time waiting is 255 minutes
(15 or longer and the answer has to be e.)

Hmm ok I was going to go down the middle and say you waited an average of about 7 minutes for 17 buses, but that equals 119 minutes, so I still don't know whether to choose C or D..! I'll be optimistic for you and go with C :thumbsup2 (but if I was dead on with 119 minutes I do hope I get a bonus point or 2 :flower1:

Yeah, seriously! The last time was...

No, I guess you're right.
Of course I’m right. It’s my TR.

Except when I’m blatantly wrong.
It beats blindly stumbling around in the dark, which is how I go through every other part of my life.
This is true. I’ve met you. Very accurate.
Bacon! Oh, wait, we're not starting yet. Sorry.
Never… ever apologize for bacon.
I'm always sooo good at these random guesses.
:rolleyes1
My eyesight has gotten progressively worse over the last couple years. Can't wait!
I’ll include a PM with the answers highlighted, just for you.

You’ll still miss them of course,

but it will level the field a bit.
Me! Me! I wanna play!
Okay!
I was hoping for a seat on that Alaska cruise, but I guess chocolate is almost as good.
You can’t eat a cruise ship.

Although many have tried.
Congrats Elle! I know how hard teachers work.
Thanks :) I’ll pass that along.
Someone pretty on the right? Maybe under the railing? Hard to see.
It’s the first hidden picture!
I think they make a cream for that.
Hydrocortisone
But seriously, I know what you mean.
Oh, I know.
You certainly have spent quite a bit of time in the far North.
A bit. :)
I'm gonna go with C.
Noted!

Ugh! I did not know you started this TR!

I want to play, but I'll have to come back to comment!
