If I book now for next October and a code comes out next year, can I have the resort apply the code even though I will have had a reservation in the system?? I want to book within the next week and start paying on it so I can have it paid before we arrive but was just wonder about codes that might pop up. Thanks!!

I book my trips through Dreams Unlimited and they can apply discounts that come up. I don't know if Disney does it for those who book directly, but you could always try. Others here may have that information.

Ditto,Dreams Unlimited is awesome! We booked last trip through them and they were great, not a single complaint. We were SUPPOSED to have a condo supplied by my father, and it looks like that fell through. Sooo, if I don't hear anything by Fri.we will used Dreams again, for our Spring Break trip next year. ;)

I had booked a vacation package directly through disney for our trip in Oct of 2004. A discount code came out later that I got off of disney's main page and called them. They said they had to check to see if it was available at our hotel and I was thinking "ya right they won't have it". Sure enough she came back on and said it was available and applied it. I actually had ressies for 2 rooms one for me and one for my sister and it ended up being a discount of $250 per family. I felt like I won the lottery. It was really pretty easy. Good luck. I'm getting ready to plan a trip for 11/06 and am trying to decide how best to do it.

:cheer2: Ok, I can see that I am not the only "early planner"..... I feel much better. lol
Ever since we decided to do this "BIG" disney trip and during halloween, I feel like I have been walking around in circles. Like what comes first, the chicken or the egg...................do we get the hotel now, or wait until they come out with 2006 rates for October. OR, do we just book this oct for next oct at shades of green again. Next is the question as to when in Oct. Obviously the dates for 2006 mickeys halloween party havent come out yet, and we definitely dont want to miss that. We are trying to make this trip the mother of all disnen trips, seeing as our kids will be of perfect age dd will be 6 and ds will be almost 5. Plus, this will be our last big vacation since my hubby will retire from the Navy within a year when we return from this trip, so until he gets settled somewhere in a new job, etc. this will be it. Ok, I feel like I am just babbling on and on, so I will go for now and let the keyboard cool off for a while. Hopefully I will get some good advice/info from everyone. Also, am I posting this in the right spot??

I'm also planning already for my October 2006 trip....I sure hope something comes out code or offer wise because every little bit helps right?

We haven't booked anything yet but I will be here very shortly. We're going 10/4-10/14 staying at the Poly. I wanted to go about a week later in Oct but if we check in by 10/4 we will still be in "value" season so I'm going with that to save some money right off the bat.

I have booked 2 rooms for Oct 22-28 2006 at the ASMu. I'm glad to know I'm not the only early bird! :cool1: Now if I can just leave it and not upgrade to the CR! I am having a huge fight with myself over this and I am still not sure which side will win, the practical money-saver or the excited live for today part! :p

We've put our deposit down for a 7 Day Eastern Caribbean Cruise Sept.2,2006 and I'm waiting to get some more money together so that we can reserve4 nights at POFQ after the cruise!

In other words, if a special comes up and you have already booked, do they modify your reservation or cancel it and make another one?

Coming from Canada(currency wise) this is kinda important cause if I book now and pay off little by little til then, will they refund my CC and start a whole new reservation? If this is the way it is done, it may not be to an advantage for me, especially if the currency fluctuates.

Am I clear? LOL, I would really like to know about this one.

I have done this through disney a number of times (that is, had a reservation and then gotten them to apply a subsequently issued code). I don't have a specific answer for your question, but I do know this: The reservation number stays the same, the deposit stays the same (even though it is now more than for one night), and all your preferences stay in the reservation.

Some have speculated on this board that people who make preference requests get priority on the basis of when they made the reservation, and that when you call to apply a code (or make any change), you go to the back of the queue in terms of preference priority. I've never seen anyone with solid knowledge deny or confirm this, but it might be potentially relevant to your question.

My hunch though, is that the answer to question is no, they are not going to reverse your transaction just because a code was applied.

I've done this and they did not cancel the reservation it stayed the same, if you already have paid for the trip in full they can give you a room credit for what they owe you and you can use it for spending money while there. When they have to cancel the room and rebook it is a real pain. My sister and I had booked 2 rooms one year under her name so that we could be sure to be together. Due to financial reasons she had to cancel a month or so before the trip. They had to cancel the whole thing and then rebook a room in my name because they cannot change the lead person on the ressie. It was a real pain and I will never book with another family like that again. Next time we will book our rooms individually.

We're going in October 2006 too!

I booked our Poly GV room-only reservation using the AAA discount. I'll watch for any other/better discounts too.

In the past I've made reservations well in advance of the trip and called to apply released discounts later. I've used AP discounts, general public room-only discounts, and package deals (7-for-4 was the best!) and never had a problem.

Oh, and we've always gotten our special requests too - even after calling later to apply a discount.
