RED TEAM ROCKS!!!!
I'd like to ask each of you to try to get a "before" picture taken. We can post before and after photos at the end of the competition if you want. It is not required. A photo would be good for you to have to document your success as the BIGGEST LOSER.
We have a team of 28 and 11 have checked in with their initial weights. I hope to hear from everyone else some time today.
Let's do some introductions.
#1 some general info about you
#2 why are you taking this challenge?
#3 what healthy eating plan will you use to reach your weight loss goals?
#4 what type of exercise are you doing and for how long each day?
A little about me
#1 I live in MD 1/2 hour from the Atlantic Ocean. I'm 48, married 27 years, three kids, DD26, DS25, & DS22. DD married and in PR at an engineering firm in Seattle, WA. DS25 is a middle school teacher in Colorado Springs, CO and father to my only grandchild Kyler 8 months. DS22 taking a few online classes right now from home, returning to college at Brigham Young University in Provo,
UT in January. I graduated in May from a local CC with an associates degree in accounting. Right now I am working for my husband's business trying to keep the office straight. He is a self employed electrician with two employees one of them being DS. Business is booming and fortunately I do not have to work full time outside of the home right now. Unfortunately that also means we have no medical insurance and that worries me. It is hard to get affordable coverage as a small business.
#2 I have gained and lost the same 25 pounds several times since I was diagnosed with type II diabetes in 2004. I am morbidly obese and have 170 pounds to lose. I could write a book here but will not. I have poured my heart out at the beginning of the MASSIVE amounts of weight to lose if you really want some details. When I had a horrible eating time I disappeared from the thread. I have extremely low self esteem. I think being part of this challenge will help me to be accountable to the team. I do better trying to impress other people than by trying to do things that I know I need to do for me.
My major reason to get in gear RIGHT NOW is that DS22 will be married November 30. I hated my mother of the bride dress in 2003. It made me feel fat. I wore the same thing as mother of the groom in 2005. I refuse to wear that ugly dress to another wedding. I get to dance with the groom, my baby, and I want to feel fabulous that day. I KNOW I can lose 50 pounds by the wedding date. 7 are gone already.
#3 Right now anything is an improvement. My five goals each day are:
1. drink 64 ounces of water
2. exercise 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week
3. eat at least 5 fruits and vegetables
4. stick to my WOE
5. do not eat after 8 PM
WOE (way of eating) is Dr Phil's rapid quick start program. Low carb, lots of f & v, lean protien, low fat.
#4 I really hate to exercise, but as my goal #2 above states I will do it. My exercise method is to turn on the TV and just move my fat *** for 30 minutes. It's not much, it's not difficult or challenging, but I hate it.
That's all for now. I haven't even had a chance to eat breakfast yet. I'm now off for a healthy 'brunch'. I hope your day goes well.
