We were on the 10/29 Bermuda sailing, and we had two completely different weather days on the island.
On 10/31 we took the Haunted History Tour (walking) in St. George’s, which took place in the evening. This was our windy and chilly weather day. The description of this port adventure is a little misleading regarding the meal. The tour started with a bus ride (small bus) to St. George’s. We were then escorted towards the Deliverance replica; the port adventure has this listed last, but it was first. The meal was a piece of chicken (thigh or drumstick), macaroni & cheese, and coleslaw. Beverages were provided. We sat on folding chairs on the deck but no tables. At that point I told my husband that if the rest of the tour was as poor as this experience, I would be heading to the Port Adventures desk and asking for at least a partial refund. Thankfully, once we were handed off to the actual street theatre group the tour exceeded our expectations so much that my husband sent a message to the founder of the group complimenting her and her team. It really was the perfect excursion for Halloween, and the kids in our group were invited to trick or treat at one of the stops (families were out trick or treating). I did provide all feedback to the Port Adventures team.
The next day we did the Railway Trail Bike and Beach Tour. Since the weather was really beautiful, they were able to transport us by boat to the start of the tour. This allowed us to visit the remains of a Bermuda Triangle shipwreck and the sea turtle area. Once we reached the starting point of the tour, we were outfitted with helmets and bicycles appropriate for our heights (seats were adjustable but hard to unlock). We first pedaled a paved path but then took a turn into an off-road area. One person on our tour was not able to participate from that point forward; we met up with her later at the beach. The beach part is a bit inaccurate here, too. It was mostly biking and hiking, and the hiking was done on uneven (and sometimes steep) ground. The beach part was about 30 minutes; we just sat on some chairs and relaxed. They do provide water, but I suggest that you bring a small snack if you think you’ll be hungry; I packed Rx Bars for this purpose. Despite the “Know Before You Go” description, there wasn’t a place to purchase souvenirs, snacks, or beverages along the way. They did provide us with snacks on the return boat trip. We really loved this excursion and provided feedback to Port Adventures as well. There is a height minimum and weight maximum for this excursion.
The Atlantic was mostly calm. It was a bit rough on the way out of Bermuda.
