Back to Back Cruise Questions

We will be on the Magic for back to back cruises (January 31st and February 7th). I've heard conflicting reports about whether or not you have to leave the ship in between cruises and am hoping that someone can give me the right answer to this. Also, will we continue on with the same dining rotation?
Thanks

Travis and I are also thinking of sailing on back-to-back cruises next year. We've already booked the September 4th Eastern sailing and we hope to book the Western sailing either before (Aug. 28th) or after (Sep. 11th) the 4th cruise.

Anyway, as it stands, you do not have to get off the ship between cruises. This comes from DCL directly. However, DCL did state that all ship board services would be suspended and you would also not be allowed to stay in your stateroom during that morning.

Hope this helps!

Jason and Travis...Think about the 8/28/04 cruise as your other half of your back to back. It would be great to meet you both. Check out our thread for that sailing. Lynr, joined our thread last night as she is sailing then also.

We do need someone who could make a spread sheet like you did for your last cruise.

Joanna--

Thanks for keeping us in mind for your cruise! :) As it stands right now, we are really leaning toward the 8/28 cruise to complete our back-to-backs.

Thanks Jason and Travis - It would be kind of nice to do some laundry in between sailings... AND to be first in line for ressies and lunch... Maybe you'll reconsider the weeks you've booked and change them to our weeks??? It's a great time to cruise (okay anytime is a great time!!)
Thanks again,
Annie

Back to back cruises would be great once the kids are through college.

One question for ThreeCircles. Do we have to have political ads in our posts? Please feel free to leave them out.:D

The ads are totally optional. And, I'll keep mine, but thanks for the concern. ;)

Hi, dw and I did a back to back in June July this year and loved it. The first week was westren and with then kids. Then we booted them off so they could spend a week at OKW. Then they returned to pick us up at the end of the b to b. We told Guest services we were staying on. They had us come down to the desk around noon after the ship was emptied, escorted us to the desk at the terminal where we took our cruise docs and passports and got escorted right back on. The whole process took twenty minutes actually off the ship and I did it in a bathing suit and flip flops! (boy, did we get looks!). They were great. While we were on the ship alone we did laundry, walked around and tried to stay out of the crew's way. I also had our room attendent do our room last so he could take his time getting to all of the others first. He was most appreciative. Since we stayed in the same room we were on the same dining rotation. We plan another b to b in 2005.
I have heard from others, however, that did not have to leave the ship at all. I think its variable. Have a great time! Wes

Hey Jason & Travis -- just surfacing back on the boards, now from Canada's beautiful south west coast! (Might have to change the name to watermouse ;) ) OK, now you've made me jealous and got me scheming!

We've still got a back-to-back in mind, but between the Rae & Verandahman birthday cruise, and the timing of your back to back, and moving even further from Florida (but close to cheap flights from Seattle) what a choice! Keep us posted on what you decide to do.

BTW, I've PM'd you about other special vacation options, too!

My favorite Canadians return to the Dis Boards!!! :)

It is SO good to hear from you and even better to hear that you're still considering back-to-backs! Hopefully we'll be able to make the Rae and Andy Birthday Cruise (to think I'll be 30!) and we'll see you there (I hope, I hope)!

Now... Off to see that PM...

I hope so too..... You guys were great company on the May 3-10! Would love to cruise with you all again.

Travis
