B2B changes

I just saw a post that B2B protocol has changed. This is a big change. Seems ALL cruisers must pack before leaving to be tested, regardless of if you are booked in the same room. I actually had a B2B planned for august/September and recently dropped august. Though I have one October/November now. There are some other guidelines too in the letter attached.

I’m glad we did our B2B in March.

I understand why they changed the policy, but it does make staying on board less appealing.

I almost don't even want to unpack for our first leg since its the 3 night sailing first on the Wish. I get the point of it but it still puts a damper on the B2B aspect of it all. We did a B2B on the Dream back in 2016.

So many people testing positive and not being able to sail on the next cruise. Imagine how long it takes for room stewards to pack up those staterooms. They probably weren’t able to finish all their usual work getting the staterooms ready for the next guests.

This was the letter we got on the MV. And our son tested positive, so they had to go up and grab our luggage from our stateroom. Honestly, not having to pack when in the same stateroom is one of the perks of B2B, with testing requirements in place I would not do it again.

Is the website available using the on-board internet or will you need to pay for a package to get the internet access? Will Guest Services help with the process if you do not have internet access? No issue with packing bags (planning on doing that anyway( but now needing to log in and get all that other stuff completed seems to add a level of complexity I was not expecting.

Website is available for free, not sure how fast the speeds would be.

For us we were soooo thankful to have driven and not be stuck in quarantine for 10 days if we were flying...

Sorry to hijack just trying to answer questions. Back to original programming...

And imagine the liability if something gets damaged or forgotten. It puts the employees in a precarious spot.

Why not test people the night before then, instead of testing them at port? It would solve all the issues about testing positive and the staff having to pack, or now having to pack for no reason.

Exactly. This is what my husband has been saying. Test the night before, like they do for little ones. That way we know if we have to pack or not, plus we get some time to make alternative arrangements .

Now you have to get on/off the ship AND pack/repack? Might as well go home instead of giving them more of my money. However, I suppose that they don't care because someone else will book the room anyway?

one of the perks was not having to pack. My next b2b is a *GT so I would’ve had to pack regardless. But now you dont even have access to your cabin until 1:00. I still got a great deal on both cruises booking OGT fares.

That may be the official time, but B2B might get to their rooms sooner. B2B usually was back onboard well before 11am, and the letter says that is reboarding time - I wouldn’t be surprise if it happens earlier.

I agree it’s a bummer to pack mid-vacation. Exactly why I don’t do split-stays at WDW.

b2b on the Dream July 4th-9th & 9th-14th were let back on board 11:30am
all b2b were suppossed to meet 9am in one on the lounges to be escorted for test, everyone was not there until 9:30, all were taken at the same time to be tested off the ship
basically you loose 1/2 day of ship time doing b2b

If DCL continues to test, I would think with a lot of people doing b2b on the Wish, it will take even longer to get back on

You can just use your normal cell phone plan in port. No need for to use the ship’s slower WiFi.

The online check in things you need to do can all be completed before you leave for your first leg. I wouldn’t mess with ship Wi-Fi.
