Are you cooking for the holiday?

Yes, we’ll make everything, but it’s just 5 of us for dinner, then a few more are coming over later for dessert. We did cheat and buy the desserts. Hard to beat Costco’s pumpkin pie for $5.99.

Nope. Due to family circumstances I’m left home alone. I previously thought a Thanksgiving buffet alone, but all the usual tribal casinos with don’t have one or shut down. It looked like some converted to steam table style restaurants where the staff would plate everything and no seconds. I did check again and one is doing a buffet for Thanksgiving, although their other restaurant has a cheaper dinner option of turkey and dessert.

It’s going to be weird as it’s the first time in ages without family, but I’ll manage.

It is just 3 of us so we got a turkey breast to last for 3 nights which was cooked yesterday. They have food allergies so years ago I found some non dairy recipes for crockpot stuffing, sweet potato casserole with marshmallows, corn bread muffins, and pumpkin pie and will also have green beans and jellied cranberry sauce. DH did some of the prep work today and we will have fun cooking together tomorrow as we watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, National Dog Show, and football.

Yup - got started today, and will do most of it tomorrow.

Everything was tasted and declared great today, so even if I fail at everything tomorrow, we'll have something spectacular to eat!

Yes - Hosting and Cooking

I’m leaving work soon to make my pumpkin Bundt cake and some c.chip cookies - I’m definitely not doing that tomorrow.

Yes, I'll be cooking for my family of three and my dad. We got a turkey breast from Costco that I'll cook in the air fryer. I also bought pre-made mashed potatoes and gravy from Costco, pies and rolls from the grocery store, as well. I'm making stuffing, butternut squash casserole, corn casserole and cranberry sauce. I'm sure we'll have a lot of leftovers but it's all the stuff we like so I couldn't think of anything to leave off the menu.

I'll do my prepping tonight so there isn't much to get done tomorrow.

Yes I am for DD,SiL and the 2 grandsons
Got a lot done today
Only turkey and stuffing tomorrow

I am making a copy cat Loaded Baked Potato soup from Carnation Cafe tomorrow for my Thanksgiving Meal tomorrow. The plus side is that I will have leftovers for the weekend. We usually go to my parents house and never get any left overs.

I am now. We were supposed to visit family. DH started feeling sick this morning and by this evening, we cancelled. There will be a ton of people at his mom's and we won't risk getting anyone sick. The menu is now steak and a bunch of sides we all like, plus a day of movies and maybe some board games. It actually sounds more relaxing than going to a house with a ton of people. I love my in laws but we will visit when we are all healthy.

Today I cooked the turkey, and prepped it for reheating tomorrow. Also make Jello salads and stuffing.

Tomorrow's meal preparation will take a little over an hour (mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, gravy, relish tray). I'm baking a Marie Calendar pumpkin pie in the morning. Dinner is at 4:00.

We do to my youngest daughter's house because she bought one with 2 ovens. My oldest son is smoking the turkey, youngest son is making mashed potatoes, oldest daughter is making a green bean casserole by hand (no soup, cooking sherry, real mushrooms????), youngest daughter is making deviled eggs, stuffing and carrots,I'm doing the candied yams/marshmallows, bought the pumpkin pie from Costco and individual cheesecakes in their freezer section. Decided I wanted little work this year. My brother in law asked if I was making my mom's fruitcake (darn....he's 80 and by himself so........made fruitcake tonight). It's not a real fruitcake, it's more of a brown sugar boiled cake with raisins and walnuts, cinnamon and cloves. It's good. Oh and my 17 year old grandson is making some rosemary rolls.
