Are Jogging Strollers really banned from the parks?

Did I read this somewhere correctly? Can you not take your own personal jogging strollers into the parks? What about the joggers at MGM? Are they still renting those? Can someone clarify this?

I haven't tried it, but there have been emails from WDW saying that joggers aren't allowed, and at least one poster was told she couldn't bring hers in. The rentals that resemble joggers don't have that big wheel out front, which is what makes the difference. The front wheel is underneath the seat, so it's not as easy to run up people's heels.
