Just be certain that your reservation is made using the AP rate.
Otherwise you risk not having the AP rate available upon check in.

I overheard this scenario when checking in at HR years ago. The couple thought that the AP rate was applied when they arrived at the hotel, and weren't too happy when the TM couldn;t accommodate them.
