Anyone know anything about livers?

wondered what happened with you, sorry you still are up in the air about this.my lymph nodes are always swollen but that's the cfs.

have they successfully ruled anything out?
I've been away from the boards for awhile. We had a wonderful 11 day Disney trip, then returned home for my latest surgery. I had a hernia repair last week. I was very excited because they were also going to do a lymph node biopsy, but for some reason the surgeon decided not to do it. He wants me to see an ENT first. I have a new, WONDERFUL internist. She actually listens to me and is concerned about my liver. My CTs and MRIs still come back clean. She thinks I may have NASH or Autoimmune Hepatitis. She has mentioned a MRCP or a referral to a liver specialist. I go back on July 11, so we shall see...

Thank you for remembering me!

Hi Tracey!
Glad you had a wonderful 11 day trip to WDW! That's fantastic!! :goodvibes Sorry but I don't have any pain issues with my liver issues. It really stinks when things aren't clear-cut, doesn't it??

I have to admit that I am tempted to just quit checking this liver stuff. I have done a bunch of research on NASH and NAFLD and the treatment is exercise and maintaining a healthy weight, so I am focusing my energy there. Why should I keep getting tests done, blood drawn, paying co-pays? (can you tell I am frustrated? :sad2: )

Just an update... not that I know anything else....

Dr called this evening (finally!) and he wants to do an upper endoscopy and small bowel biopsy. It seems one of my other numbers is slightly elevated (should be 11 and under - mine is 14) and he wants to see if I have celiac disease. He says since I have Eastern European ancestors that could be the problem. I told him my family has been here for years and years and that I am officially a 'mutt' but since I do have some Irish heritage, he wants to check it out. He wants it done in 3 weeks.

Next blood test will be at the end of August.

Next office visit at the beginning of Sept.

Meanwhile I am supposed to keep trying to lose some weight and exercise more, just in case my liver enzymes come down in coorelation.

I guess I should be happy I have a plan again but I feel :headache: .

Well I would like to share one thing which I witnessed of my friend's mother. She all of a sudden had complains of stomach pain which got serious within no time at all and therefore she had to be admitted to a hospital. Now she was diagnosed with an infection in her liver which required a surgery according to the doctors. So what I would like to know is what are the conditions that have been responsible in affecting this problem in her? As this concerns the liver I thought someone may just update me about the same.
