pjlla - that looks awesome, I'm sure she will enjoy having that to use!
I used cardboard that came with album refills and altered it with paper, ink and stickers. For the inside of the smash book, I cut paper to size and hole punched it. I didn't want to order a premade smash book, because I saw it as an opportunity to clear out my paper stash and use the stuff that was sitting for years and years.
My pages are sturdy because I am using cardstock and adding paper to it. It is a work in progress that will evolve as I add to it.
No rules! Make it yours!
I have 5 Smashbooks in the works for our August trip. One is mine combining some scrapbooking of the trip as well as using it as my trip planner. I am also making 4 mini books for our children and my Mom and will be surprising them with them before we leave for the airport. They will include our dining plans and different spots they can capture their own memories. I am so excited to have learned about these great little gems.
Thanks so much!

I picked up some new smash type items at Michaels this past week, it's called Snap.
I liked the lined pages and the slide in sleeves. They had sleeves that were like project life too.
I'm going to see if they fit my smash book today when I get home.
