Johnny Depp - star of POTC 1, 2 and 3 and now part of the POTC ride. He was welcomed into DL for the movie premieres inside DL. And he also has a history of drug abuse and addiction. So for folks who say it is in bad taste for Disney to bring back Eo, I wonder how far bad taste extends? Julie Andrews and Dick VanDyke can only play so many roles for Disney.

I totally agree. The same things could be said about watching a professional sports game or prime time tv show. I'll do what i can to avoid supporting those that don't deserve it. But I can't stop without giving up all media. And I also have to forgive some mistakes as well, nobody is perfect, after all.

Sorry but there is no comparison IMO. Pedophilia IS NOT a victimless crime. What people choose to do to themselves is one thing, but when a child is victimized there is no forgiveness. And Disney is nothing, if not a place for children. I agree that it is in very poor taste and I hope it is not around for long.

Everyone has to make their own choices. And I get what you are saying about MJ and Captain Eo. I do. It is just more grey for me.

I do not have access to any facts about MJ and pedophilia. I have no desire to defend him. As I said, he has always creeped me out.

On the other hand, I have always wondered what kind of irresponsible parents would allow their children to go away with, let alone spend the night with, a single man without any other adult oversight. That alone makes me question the motives of the families involved. Further, I do know there are many gold-diggers out there who try to take advantage of the rich and famous. Since I do not know the people involved or any facts, I cannot say for sure who did what to whom. If someone else can, then they have more access to the facts then I have. Accusations are not facts.

Whether drug abuse and suicide are victimless crimes is a matter of opinion. In my experience there are many people around the abusers and suicide committers who have suffered tremendously. And when children see famous entertainers live lives of drug abuse, it does influence them. We all know that. The effect on society and our own children is real.

If any of you have followed the whole "bring back Eo" saga, you know it was not a slam dunk decision for Disney. Disney has to account for perception whether or not the facts support it. They ultimately decided to move forward with Eo. Lots of people wanted them to. Some did not. And I have heard that the theater has been pretty full since February. Now Tokyo Disney and WDW are moving forward with bring Eo back too.

If someone wants to skip Eo because of MJs reputation, then they should skip it. To be fair, I do think folks should also consider whether there are other things at Disney they should also skip based on the performers' personal lives. But that is for all of you to decide.

IMHO I dont understand how you all can say matter o factly the Mj was a pedophile , he was never convicted. Frankly the whole situation was a little suspicious to me, it would suprise me if those kids were coached into saying what they said. Now if it really happened is there any excuse for it? no absoloutley not. But if you really look at Mj's life, past, and present behaviour I get the feeling he was someone easily taking advantage of buy and messed up from a very messed up childhood. I wont see Eo, mostly because I cant get down to Disneyland any time soon , but I wouldnt see it any way for the same reason I think its not inapropriate for Disney to have it. They are buying in to the hype around Mjs death, people are no longer talking about jacko the wacko there talking about Micheal Jackson the Pop music legend and its making a ton of money and Disney is capitalising on there end of that, personally I think Disney's above that, but whatever. So if you dont feel its apropriate for your children to see Mj in 3d dont take them, but dont blame disney for wanting there cut of the money pie.

As weird as MJ was please remember that he was never convicted of anything. There are plenty of people out there that take advantage of wealthy people through blackmail.
The story that was all over the news yesterday re: the teacher accused of molesting 3 girls including her daughter proves that false accusations can spin out of control.

Personally, I'd like to see some statistics showing a connection between regular porn and child porn. Nearly every red-blooded American male I have ever had the pleasure of knowing has enjoyed their porn on occasion(and a whole lot of the women as well). Shocking, ain't it? Having followed the MJ creep show in Vanity Fair in the early '90's, the families involved signed agreements and received $$ settlements. MJ, while never convicted, was quick to pay off his accusers. That is neither slander nor libel. All this from someone with a post count of 57. Interesting.
