AKV CLub Level Questions

SO we are going to stay at AKV for from Easter Sat through that week. The first 2 nights we couldn't get club level but the last 5 we are good to go. I wait listed the first 2 nights. So if anyone has club level the first 2 nights (Easter Sat and Easter day) fell free to cx them and throw em my way! lol

I got some questions.

1. Never did a room switch. What happens. I assume they will send up a birdcage so we can secure all our stuff and then go on our way to the parks for the day. I also assume our stuff won't magically make it's way to the new room until we officially check in? So should I just go check in right after they take our stuff even if the room won't most likely be ready so our stuff will get to the room by the time we come back from the parks?

2. The morning we do check in will I go to the CLub Level floor or is that only for CL non DVC guests?

3. Will the IPO contact me like when I stayed CL at WL non dvc? or is that for only CL non DVC guests?

4. I guess I'm trying to figure out what will be CL specific still even though it's a DVC stay?

5. Stupid question. . . will we get turn down each night or no cause I'm staying on points?

We only did this cause we don't need to carry any points over to 2015 cause we are doing only one DVC stay 2015 and going on the Disney Alaskan cruise that year so I won't even use all my points. I had enough to get us our 2 trips for 2014 so I booked it. Figured we would give it a whirl. We liked the CL at WL so who knows. . .

Thanks so much. We really can't wait.

We did club level once after staying in a regular room the night before. In the morning we took our luggage down to the lobby and bell services escorted us up to club level. We then checked in at the club desk. We were able to get breakfast that morning. Our room was not ready.

Later in the day we got our room #, I can't remember if we called or if we got a text. After we got to the room, we called bell services to bring up the luggage. I don't think they will deliver the luggage without you in the room (except magical express).

My friend made the reservations, I think she worked with IPO. It was her birthday, they delivered a cake one night.

We got daily housekeeping and turndown.

We loved the Sunrise Safari.

As Debbie said - only it won't magically make it's way to your room at all. You will need to call once you are in the room. They do want their tip!

2. The morning we do check in will I go to the CLub Level floor or is that only for CL non DVC guests?

Yes - you'll be escorted up to check in at Club level. That is also the level where your room will be.

3. Will the IPO contact me like when I stayed CL at WL non dvc? or is that for only CL non DVC guests?

Yes - you should get an email prior to the 6 month mark.

4. I guess I'm trying to figure out what will be CL specific still even though it's a DVC stay?

It's the same AFAIK and have experienced.

5. Stupid question. . . will we get turn down each night or no cause I'm staying on points?

Yes. And your room cleaned daily.

Good luck with your waitlist and have fun!

If you are on the sixth floor of Jambo House in the concierge villas, you will get daily full housekeeping, turn down service (chocolates on your pillow) and access to the lounge which is on the sixth floor as well. You can also sign up for the Sunrise Safari if you want to pay the extra. But it is rather fun and the breakfast is good.

Kathy,

Thanks for the info. That's pretty cool we get housekeeping. Nice of them.

I know to tip. I was brought up proper. My father always made sure I didn't forget the little things done for someone.

I doubt the wait list will be filled but who knows.

The tip info was just an explanation of why they want you in the room. I hope you didn't take it any other way.

Have you ever been on care.com? I use it at home and decided to try it on a recent Disney trip. I found a sitter who came to the hotel at my request the night before to have dinner with our family so I could meet her. Then, the next night she came and took the kids swimming at the hotel, fed them, got them all bathed, and put them to bed. DH and I had a lovely evening to ourselves at Citricos. If you need childcare, I can send you the sitter's number or you can post on care.com.

No I know sorry if that came out wrong. I can't type and get my opinion across right. Always had that problem! Lol

Thanks for that. I will have to mention that to my wife. The child care in akl do they take children if not potty trained? Kate is but kason won't be I would assume at 22 months. So I know she could stay there. She would actually prob like it there for a few hours but wasn't sure about him of still in diapers.

:thumbsup2 I know I have a knack for not always clarifying as much as I probably should. :goodvibes

I am thinking of getting the club level, if available when we go in March 2014, and I was wondering what so they generally have in the lounge? Is it worth it? We will be going for my 60th bday and would love to get treated royally. Years ago we did the Gold Key at the Poly and you could make your meals from the lounge but that was about 20 years ago. If anyone has AKV as their home resort and can check March 3 for 4 night I would appreciate it. Thanks everyone.

I don't think that I would call it royal, tid Bits, and drinks. I say go for it at least once and check out the safari if you are so inclined.

I wouldn't call it royal treatment. Breakfast is continental - toast, bagels, cereal. I think oatmeal is the only hot item. Evening is appetizer samples and dessert samples. Really not intended to serve as dinner. One complaint I had when we stayed there is they would bring out the tray of appetizers to the central table and the first couple people would take them all, leaving everyone else waiting for the next plate to be delivered.

I was just considering moving up to AKL "C" on my April 2014 trip with my niece and nephews. One question - do all of the Concierge rooms have Savannah view. that is the most important things to the kids (and me, really). And would you recommend Jambo or Kidani for 2 adults, 3 kids - 11, 11, and 8?
