Advice During Tornado Warning

This may be off topic since it may have nothing to do with Disney, but I believe this is for safety and could save lives. You should never stay in your RV during a tornado warning or when you see a tornado or hear the sound of a tornado (sounds similar to a freight train). If it is a tornado watch, you can remain in your RV, but be prepared to evacuate it if the watch is upgraded to a warning when one has been spotted in the area. It is best when you first get to the RV park is know ahead of time where to seek shelter just incase of an emergency.

My best advice on what to do during a tornado warning is to retract all slides, get out of the RV and find a building built out of bricks or cinder blocks with no windows (such as the bath house, or inside the restroom at the clubhouse (the first floor restrooms are the safest places in a building in the event of a tornado)) to take shelter in. If you have any pets on your camping trip, bring them with you. The most dangerous place for shelter would be inside the RV. This happened to me that there was a tornado warning and I was camping in my travel trailer at Red Shoes RV Park in Kinder, Louisiana and hunkered down inside the casino at Coushatta Casino Resort. One good thing is there was no damage to the trailer. RVs can be replaced, but you and your family cannot be. Many experienced RV campers may already know this, but it is wonderful advice for those who are new to RV camping.

Just to add, lots of campgrounds, even state parks , have designated shelters. Most are the confert stations. So, ask if you think thier is a need for shelter.
