Forgot to mention this. Last Sunday they let us through the gates a little later than usual. We later found it that was due to a wedding going on in front of the castle. Yes -- weddings in DL are a possibility. Here's the rub, though: they start at... wait for it...
$200,000. I expected a DL wedding to be pricey -- say $20,000 or so. But $200,000? I'd rather stay single ;-).

Yikes! I hope that includes admission for 200 of your closest friends and family :P

Believe it or not, it doesn't. One security CM told me that guests were allowed in for the ceremony but everyone was escorted out of the park after the wedding. One of the reasons for the high cost, he told me, is that 400 CMs had to be on hand for the wedding.

400? Whyyyyyyy?

Well now I'm glad the rest of my group didn't get up for rope drop! Not normally a rope drop person anyways, but so glad those teenagers decided to stay sleeping.

I think the only way I'd ever willingly get married is to be married in Disneyland, lol! Good thing it's way out of my price range ;)

Looks like the security guard was a bit misinformed. A night wedding at Sleeping Beauty Castle, including reception, is a minimum of $180,000 and includes the following:

The Evening Sleeping Beauty Castle Wedding Ceremony in Disneyland Park must be held after Park hours during the week, in a non-peak season. The Ceremony includes décor, Chivari Chairs, the Crystal Coach, Major Domo, Fanfare Trumpeters, Harpist, 5 Bouquets, 5 Boutonnieres, Officiant, Sound, Lighting, and the use of Main Street Vehicles. The Small World Mall Reception includes a Reception DJ, White Dance Floor, Satin Linens & Napkins, Chivari Chairs, Centerpieces, Favors, and Lighting.

A morning wedding costs much less:

The Morning Sleeping Beauty Castle Wedding Ceremony in Disneyland Park must be held before Park hours during the week, in a non-peak season. The Ceremony package includes décor, Chivari Chairs, the Crystal Coach, Major Domo, Fanfare Trumpeters, Favors, Harpist, 1 Bouquet, 1 Boutonniere, Officiant, and the use of Main Street Vehicles.

Minimum cost - $62,200**
Still a heck of a lot of money, but not quite as bad as stated.

'Tis pricey for sure! Maybe it was more since it was Sunday morning though? What is it now...the average cost of a wedding is like $35000 or something. They do make a Disney one sound pretty magical. What do they say on Once Upon a Time...magic always has a price...:rotfl:

Add to this, this is for 50 guests. After 50, start adding more $$.

We got married in WDW, Epcot actually last year. MUCH cheaper! We are doing a late anniversary trip to DL this year, so excited.

I didn't save our bill after it was all paid off.... I believe it was around $15,000. Including a dessert party the night before and a in park photo shoot. HOWEVER, the package we used doesn't exist anymore...
