Actors that play the characters...

Hi.

Was just reading through all the threads (like you do) and noticed megarasweet's Avatar. I am sure the person playing Jack Sparrow next to her is the same guy that lent on my sons head in 08 playing the same character.

It got me thinking. Has he been playing the same character all this time..?

Have any of you noticed the same person playing different characters?. I would have to admit, even though it's disney i'd get bored being the same character day in, day out.

"Actors that play the characters..." - Wash your mouth out with soap and water.

THEY'RE REAL OF COURSE!!! :rotfl2:

i do know that the characters sometimes go on holiday, etc. so for example, if jack sparrow had to leave to film his movie, then disney sometimes have to bring in a replacement Jack Sparrow while he is away.;)

I know when my brother worked in Florida he said that the fairy god mother was originally Cinderella because she had worked there that long! X

My brother too worked in Florida. He says they're all real and I believe him.

On a serious note... costumed characters play multiple depending on height and weight. Sex has nothing to do with it... for example Mickey is usually always a woman (being shorter in height).

Face characters are a little more specialist though. Most probably only play one character.

What a funny thread :rotfl2:.

My DD1 (who was 4.5 yrs at the time) noticed on our last trip that Eric (as in Little Mermaid) looked different two days running (once in Auberge and once in the OUAD parade)!

That was interesting trying to explain - I just told her he had his hair a slightly different way :rotfl:.

And she kept asking me why the non face characters couldn't speak :lmao:

That girl is too darn sharp for her own good I can tell you! ;)

If we do manage a trip back this June I'm dreading what she'll find this time - she will be just turned 7! Sadly, no more believing the non face characters are real which is awful  As long as she doesn't tell her little sister

I dread this day to me its worse then the dreaded santa question

When I took DD1 to disney studios aged 8 ( 4 yrs ago now) she got Daisy's autograph straight the way the gates opened, and was first in the scrum! She was thrilled!

As we walked away we looked and realised that Daisy had got in a muddle and signed Minnie by mistake! LOL!

Dd1 is still huffy about it, as we've not managed to get another Daisy since- but countless 'minnies!' she stuck the pic of daisy next to the minnie autograph, and wrote on it that it was actually Daisy! LOL!

Bless.

We'll no doubt be trying for Daisy again this time!

When I was in line to meet Eeyore last month there was this little girl behind me (she was maybe 5) who asked her mom why Eeyore was holding the autograph book so weird. Her mom proceeded to loudly tell her that this was because the human inside the costume needed to see and went on to explain were the head and the eyes where. :scared1:

I have never seen a group of people glaring daggers at one person that much. The other parents around were not amused. If your own daughter doesn't believe in the characters anymore or you decide to ruin it for her be my guest, but don't ruin it for other children. *sighs*

Lmao... That genuinely made me laugh. You have to give her credit for her staying power.

Ohh I just hate people like that. I had similar with the Tooth Fairy when we were waiing for DD and DS to go in to their swimming lesson with one mum (whose child wasn't there because they were in a lesson) talking about it....makes me so angry

When we went to WDW back in Oct 2010 DS was 7 years old and I really thought he had worked out that the characters were played by people until on our first day there we had a character meal with Winnie the Pooh and friends. After Pooh had visited our table DS whispered to me that "Pooh isn't real, it's someone in a costume" and when I asked him how he knew, he said "I can see the zip"! He was the child that got upset that his HP wand didn't do real magic though, and still very much believes in Santa at 8 yrs old, so I guess he's not out of "that" stage yet :goodvibes

Luv Suzy

I look forward to having children one day and introducing them to the magic. I was a Disney child and despite having the 'teenage stubborn and cool years' I'm back to being an addict now. I'm probably more Disney now at 25 than I was as a kid! lol

Vala

I'm sure DD still believes the face characters are real and tbh I'm sure she half does the non face ones too especially when they make a fuss of her :goodvibes

Shame on that Mother for saying that especially in earshot of other children. However, I recall a child in my younger DD's playgroup that had a German mother who insisted he knew Santa wasn't real (he was 3) as she didn't like telling him "lies"....

Do I feel my ears burning? :lmao:

I think Jack was having an off day when I met him. He looked as good as he always does, however was acting a bit superior and snobby. It's a good job I have faith in Disney or I might have thought it really was an actor not quite living up to the role.

In all seriousness though, I did see him posing with a few children by leaning on their heads, so there is a very good chance that we encountered the same Jack.

I get far more excited about characters now than I did as a child! Our last trip got me hooked and I can't wait to try Auberge on our next trip - I really want to meet some princesses. princess:

It looks like the same guy. Bear in mind my pic is three years old :)
