Hey,
Has anyone here used AAA to plan their trip? are they any good? snd do they get any better deals? :thumbsup2

to book my trip to disneyland in March. If you book before the end of January, you pay the kids price for all tickets, you get drink mugs, lanyards, pins, luggage tags, etc. I found them to be about 120.00 cheaper than anything else I could find.

I never used them before, but i checked Dreams Unlimited first for a price quote and then went through AAA. On Sunday night I went on the website, you can have a representative all you which they did the very next day with the quote. I had decided that on Monday morning I would take a swing past there. I was in and out within 20 minutes, but I also new exactly what i wanted. They were great. I saved $13.00 on 6 days/7 nights, vavalue hotel, park hopper and DDP. $20.00 down and the balance is due in March for my May trip.

What is this about paying kids price for ALL tickets? We just booked with AAA and she never told me about that...???:confused3

Maybe it was a Disneyland special only. Is that where you are going? If so, she may not have told you, but you would probably get all your vouchers when you pay the balance. That happend to us. I asked about the AAA Storytime and AAA Diamong Parking pass. She said that it all comes when i pay off the balance.

No, WDW.

I booked thru them to get the room discount and the AAA parking pass BUT as far as them knowing anything that's funny. I told my agent more about Disney than she knew and twice when I was there I ANSWERED questions for other travelers - Hey I want a cut! I guess some offices have people that know about Disney but ours didn't. The luggage tags were nice.

We booked through AAA and saved a lot of money (i'm thinking 100's) for the 6 of us in 2 rooms at the POLY. We did book a package (I don't normally) because it was much easier the way our trip is working out. I don't depend on them for info on Disney though (although she answered all my questions), thats what I come here for :goodvibes . Good luck in your planning. I would call the world first get a price and then call AAA, it worked for me.

I didn't ask my representative for any information. I went in there knowing exactly what i wanted. I knew that i should get the pass, storytime and luggage tags. When she didn't mention them, I asked her abou them and she told me that I will get them when i pay off the balace. I didn't even think to ask all the DDP questions that i had. I knew that i could get all the info I needed from everyone on the DIS. This is where i come for all imortant information.

ITA;)

I book through AAA and receive a discount on my room, but I'm not sure that I get a discount on the tickets. I save a least enough to pay for a free night going through AAA. Like other DISers have said, you do get the storytime, luggage tags, we got a free meal at Planet Hollywood (I think), and if you reserve by the end of January, you get a free gift. (January is Disney month at AAA.) Last year we got a clock. I thought it would be just a cheap plastic clock with a Mickey picture on it, but it was actually a nice heavy clock like one that someone would sit on their desk. It was more like a statue with a little watch face on it. (Great little bonus!)

I'm using them for the second time this summer. Both times, it's working out to close to 10% off the quote from Disney, for a package for my family of 5 at the Poly with hotel, passes, and dining.

The post about all people at kids' prices and free mugs is about Disneyland in California, NOT Disney World in Florida.

As others have noted, at Disney World in Florida, you get a parking pass, some discounts on shopping at Downtown Disney, and the AAA Storytime in the MK (if you book a package). You'll also get luggage tags when you pick up your materials.

By the way, I've booked two trips over the phone and only go into the office to pick up my paperwork several weeks before the trip.

We used AAA for our trip this past October and I will never do so again. Our travel agent was dumber then a box of rocks. She messed up our trip at least 6 times when I would have to call her and make her correct it. There were 10 of us going and she just couldn't get it right. She would have some of us going for 6 days and the rest going for 8. Some had the meal plan, some didn't...you get the picture. Thank goodness for these boards or my trip would have been a disaster. When I found out about the free dining that we were eligible for I called her and she said "oh, I do think I heard something about that". What?!! If I hadn't fould out through here we probably never would have known. We're going back in Oct 2008 and I'm booking strictly through Disney.

thanks for all the help. i'm going into the office tomorrow and i know how much it will cost through disney so i will know whether i am getting a good deal with AAA or not.

I used AAA last year for our trip. If you are booking room only you can call Disney yourself and get the AAA discount applied it is only on a package that AAA must make the reservations for you. As for service our agent was very nice and helpful but had no clue about Disney but she did try to come across as confindent in her knowledge. As long as you read up on the dis boards you will be ok in knowing more than your agent and come here with your questions and just use them to book it for the discount. Oh yeah, she did forget to call ME for us but I called myself at 2 months out to double check and just gave them my info myself. When I called her to ask about it she swore she called them for me. Just make sure you explain to her exactly what want. We did use a Disney specialist agent on another past trip and yes she was way more knowledgeable but not more knowledgeable than the people on the boards so I used the boards for questions. She also screwed up our plans because she didn't listen to me completely as well as convenietly not telling me I could have gotten a better price through AAA even though she knew I was a AAA member. I was clueless back then. This time I will use AAA again if I book a package and they get me a good price otherwise I won't bother and will book on my own. I am a bit of a control freak when it comes to vacations though. I paid for my vacation well ahead of time but they did not get the final documents from Disney till about 6 weeks before we left.

HTH,
Angela

we booked our trip with AAA and saved 100's our agent was and is helpful if we have questions she is ready to answer and told us if any discounts come up she will help us get them booking the trip gave us all those extra plus free luggage and gift card can't beat it :cool1: Brooklyn

I also booked through AAA last year,I had a great advisor, she was a certified Disney agent,I saved 100s.She booked all my adrs,my air tix,the story telling AAA exclusive was great(we had a story from Alice, all the kids got to sit with her and ask questions). If you get a knowledgable person you will be fine.I plan on using them again for my next trip!

I wanted to find out if I could get a better price with AAA than I would with a ticket broker online... Wanted AAA anyways for our trip for safety of driving and if we have any troubles as well as some parksI know you get special parking which could be a little bit handy. But when I got it... I tried to see how much tickets were and I could get them cheaper with a online ticket place than I could a AAA. I am not staying at a resort so I was only needing tickets. You do save some but not alot if you go that route as far as gate prices. But I got a better deal with online ticketing.. its gonna cost me 1213.00 for 5days w/ water park.. 4adult tickets 1child and we have 1child that will be free due to being under 3yrs old. Most online ticket brokers and AAA are around 1250-1270 Ithink for same deal. WDW online or at gate was more. I will be investigating to see if we get any other types of discounts we can use.. but all the Seaworld/Universal Studios are both Better prices off their own website than anywhere else.. they got a special going on. I did save like $5 going thru expedia.com for Universal Studios though. If you go to Discovery Cove and that is on your list of things to do.. that price includes admission into Sea World as well so will cut your cost some for doing both.

It depends on how long you are going for too. We are staying 13 days and wanted a 10 day pass and they couldn't do that for us. Semmed like such a simple request.... Oh well I just made room only resrvations and save 15% that way during summer too. Tickets I can get at one of the discount places.
