A Trip Full of Surprises which was Fun for the Family! *2 Updates! Completed 7/22*

I just ate breakfast but just looking at LTT food still makes me hungry! Glad to hear you enjoyed your meal!

Weren't those the good ol' days when we could all make friends that easy? :goodvibes

I love the colors in the CSR rooms! Those blue/teal bed runners are my favorite!

Can't wait to hear more!

Yum, that macaroni and cheese at LTT looks so good! I haven't had mac and cheese like that in so long since the homemade stuff I've made at home isn't as thick and luscious. The restaurant one reminds me of Stouffer's!

Aww, how cute that Olivia made a friend during dinner! So cute that they both wanted to go swimming!

It's crazy because when I was her age I could never have made friends like that. Haha! I love the LTT mac and cheese! I actually have a cookbook that has that recipe in it and now I think I will make it sometime this week. :)

Thanks for reading more. LTT makes me hungry all the time! I think next time we're there we might do the lunch again since that is another fave for our family!

I will be writing more soon. I promise I haven't forgotten this report but thanks to school being back in session and my spanish class not working correctly I am not having good luck with it I guess. Haha

hi Charlotte! So sorry for falling behind!

Olivia's BBB makeover was adorable. That's great that you received a pixie dusting as well!

I've only been to LTT for lunch (huge fan) but not dinner. I love comfort food so this is up my ally.

At least Olivia squeezed in a night time swim. Perhaps it was like a night cap which caused her to crash when she went to bed.

Looking forward to you sharing more of the Disney magic. :)

We have eaten at LTT for lunch and enjoyed it a lot. We were talking about eating there for lunch next time we go.

I promise I haven't abandoned this! School for me has been incredibly crazy and hectic. I also have found a new love of crocheting and have started making things in my down time. I will try to finish the update I already started on this weekend if not sooner.

We left off of us going to bed after swimming. It was nice to get into bed and it was good to sleep on a nice comfy bed. We all got up around 6 or so to start taking showers and getting ready for the second day at Disney World!

9141139570_8f25aa0ab3_z.jpg

We all got ready and hopped in the car to head on over to Magic Kingdom for Day 2!! We were trying to get to MK early because we had ADR at The Crystal Palace! That meant we got to get inside MK early and it is fun to always see and hear people ask why we get to get in early before they did.

We had ADR at 8:45am and it was the first time that Olivia was eating there. Jason and I had discovered CP on our honeymoon last August. Mom had never eaten there either so it was perfect for us to go!

9141138328_164aeba974_z.jpg

9141134832_d8156cc6dd_z.jpg

Since we had gotten to CP early we had to wait outside for a few minutes. Not too much longer it was time for us to go on inside and get seated. When Jason and I went last August it wasn't as crowded as it was this go round. Holy smoke! It was jammed packed. I almost felt claustrophobic in the table we were at but we did have a nice window seat. The waiter took our drink orders and as usual Jason ordered a coke and so did the rest of us. They also brought us Orange Juice too and water which we wanted to drink up on since it was going to be another hot one!

Soon after that it was time for us to go up and start gathering our food. Olivia wanted the same things she eats at home so that's what she got. Plus she got a small cheese omelet which was excellent in her eyes. Awesome! I had to get the famous Puffed French Toast and have deemed that the best french toast ever!!!!!!! Now if I can only figure out how to make that at home we'll be good to go. Mom enjoyed her food and Jason did too. We all made at least 2 trips up there which was well worth the money spent there. Then again we had the DxDDP so that was taken care of. We finished up our food, waited and greeted the characters and the it was time to go out and explore the park again. We were hoping and praying that Splash Mountain was back up and running today so that we could enjoy the fun we have that that ride. Since Olivia didn't know what she wanted to do we decided to head on over to Space Mountain and attempt to do it but the wait time was long and we didn't feel like standing in it so we instead grabbed a fast pass and went on over to check out the Tea cups and a few other rides over that way.

Up Next...Getting Stuck on Splash Mountain!

I'm just joining your trip report. We love CSR! It's my favorite resort and the pool is great.
We were just at WDW last August and in 2012 in June, which is funny b/c it is the opposite of your last two trips. So, I want to know if you thought the weather was worse in August compared to June. It rained more for us in June, but I thought the heat in August was really bad. I don't know if I would want to go back then.

Thanks for joining in. We have been in April, May, June, July and August and honestly the most it rained while there was in June this time and August when my DH and I were on our Disneymoon. But stay tuned since I'm getting ready to update the report today. Thank goodness for a break from school for almost a month! :cool1::thumbsup2

After checking the wait time for Space Mountain and grabbing the fast passes, we headed on over to the tea cups and had a good time on that. Mom and I decided to take a cup on our own as Olivia and Jason got into another cup. Mom and I spun a little but we didn't do too much. Olivia and Jason spun so much I thought I was going to get sick watching them. I normally don't get sick on rides but after riding with Jason and Olivia last April, I haven't been able to stomach the ride again. Thank goodness Mom had some sea sickness/motion sickness pills with her on this trip. They were needed! I do believe the heat had something to do with the sickness feeling too. We tried to stay as hydrated as we could.

By the time we go off the ride, we wanted to head on over to Tomorrowland and check out Buzz Lightyear Ride and the wait time for that was only a 10 minute wait! Score! We hopped in line and went ahead and I took some pictures while waiting in line and then it was our turn to get on the ride. We had so much fun on it and it has now become a must do ride while at Magic Kingdom.

We then headed on over to Frontier Land and see about riding Splash Mountain. Now this is something that we should have regretted at the time but we went ahead and stood in line for a good 30 minutes and then it was time for us to get on the ride.

9140325202_56e8274038_c.jpg

We went through the ride smoothly until after the drop and that's when it happened! The ride stopped!!! We thankfully were in the shade when it happened and after hearing the song they eventually turned it off. We before decided to get on the ride to waste time before our Lunch reservations and before our Fast Passes were able to get used. We sat, and sat, and sat. Eventually after sitting in the raft for over an hour we were told we were able to get off the ride. Yep, the ride broke down again. Apparently it wasn't the first time they were having problems with it the week we were there. My good friends were actually in the raft behind us and they were at the top of the drop before it quit working. They were all let off before we were. Kind of bummed we never got to catch up before we went to our lunch ressies. The lady who was escorting us out was yelling at Jason "No Cell Phones!!" but he was on the line with Sanaa trying to find out what we could do about our lunch ADR at 1pm. We ended up getting off the ride and of course, Jason yelling back at the lady, "Don't worry I'm not taking any photos! I'm on the phone with a restaurant giving them all the details." Her face was priceless after he said that but he was really on the phone trying to let them know we were on the way since we got stuck on the ride. We also missed our FP time too. Oh well, we will get to ride it another time while there.

We got off the ride and made a B line to the bus terminal to head on over to AKL Kidani Village for our ADR.

Next Up...Lunch at Sanaa and not so Allergy Friendly Food.

Hi Charlotte! Joining in! I followed the link in your signature from my TR! :woohoo:

What a fun surprise for Olivia!

Sorry to hear you have to deal with food allergies. Amazing how well WDW handles them though, isn’t it?

What a fun first day at MK! I always like to start our trips there to. :lovestruc

How great that Olivia got to do BBB. We just love going there on our first WDW day.

I haven’t really considered LTT, but it sure does get good reviews. Might have to make an ADR one of our trips. ;)

Wow - the CSR room looks really nice!

CP is so fun, isn’t it?

What a shame about Splash. :( I was excited to read about Sanaa, but I’m concerned that you had a problem with your allergy dining. Yikes!

Hi Charlotte! I missed your CP breakfast update.. one of my favorite character buffet meals. I'm a puffed French toast fan as well. Here's a link to a youtube recipe that I've viewed before. I have no desire to make it myself since I KNOW I won't pull that off like Disney but it looks fun nonetheless.

Oh man! Bummer about Splash. I secretly desire to get stuck on a fun ride sometime but I suppose there's a down side to that like missing your ADR or what if your kid needs to go potty? At least you were set free and now you can get to lunch.

I want to wish you a very Happy New Year! :goodvibes

Thanks for joining in Roni! I love to plan trips to where the first day is always at MK! I think it just brings out the best in me for the whole trip!:cool1:

Olivia gets to do the BBB every few years and it was a nice way to allow her to have some fun "me" time there too. Plus my mom has never seen the process of becoming a princess so it was fun to allow her to see what all goes on.

CSR rooms are so nice! Jason and I stayed there for our honeymoon and we really loved it there. Such a relaxed feeling compared to going to POP which we normally book. Plus this year we sprung a little and decided to do a few days at AKV and we loved it! More on that surprise in a little bit. CP is one of our favorite restaurants to go to. But after looking at your TR on Cape May I might have to give the breakfast a try. I'm not a big person on the seafood side as far as dinner goes but that's just me I guess.

As for the food allergies, normally I don't have an issue with anywhere I go but this year just seemed like it was going to be difficult. Especially since I get to carry around Epi-Pen's with me at all times now. I have them in my purse, backpack and car for whenever we go out of town. And since hubby works at Walgreens we can get a refill if we needed to while in Orlando.

Hey Brenda! Yes you missed my CP update but at least your all caught up. I love the puffed french toast but then again I love french toast no matter what. I think it tastes so much better at Disney than it does at home. :worship: I have seen the recipe to try it at home but I think I'll stick with wanting to go back instead of making it myself. Maybe that is one way to get Jason to figure out when we can go. Our original plans were to go in April this year but since he is taking a full course load at school to graduate in May we might have to wait until the fall like the first or 2nd week in September to go. But since we've never done the fall I'll take it!

As for getting stuck on a ride, I have been stuck before on one. The one before that I got stuck on was "It's a Small World" and let me say for a while I didn't want to ride that again. Thankfully I got over it and love it again!

Once we made it over to AKL Kidani Village it was time to head to Sanaa. We at that point were only 30 minutes late and they were happy we called them to let them know we were stuck on a ride. They were very understanding from that point.

9141123928_dfebab4f20_z.jpg

We did however have to wait a few minutes for them to get a table ready for us and so we welcomed the small wait. We went to the bathroom and washed our hands and Olivia checked out the animals outside. We had asked if they could sit us by the window but they didn't have any tables at the time. Phooey! We were really hoping we could since Olivia is in love with Animals. She put the adults to shame when it came time to name some of them.

Soon it was time to get seated and we were seated not by the windows. :( But that's alright because we would soon get to go outside and have a little fun for a while during lunch. We all ordered our drinks and we all got cokes except for Olivia who wanted Sprite. Not a problem at all. I even asked Olivia if she wanted one of the drinks that come with the light up Tinkerbell and she said no, just a sprite. We also had the waitress bring us some water too to get us hydrated again. She asked if we had any questions and when I told her that I had put up there about a food allergy she waited to get our orders until the chef came out to talk with us. Normally I can tell what I can and can't have but since it's a different food than what I eat on a daily basis then it was best I do this at Sanaa.

The chef came out and talked to me about the food allergies and sometimes I wish I didn't have them. I sometimes can have one thing and then if I try again I can't. I just wish at times they could figure out what I was allergic too but it's hard to find out everything. I guess I'm a little too scared to as well.

Once they told me what I could and couldn't have I was a little bummed. Most of the things I wanted to try was out for me. So for my appetizer I was given the choice of Tomato Soup or the Seasonal Soup. I decided on the Seasonal Soup which happened to be a Carrot Ginger Soup which was well just plain odd! There was no other word for it except I didn't like it at all. It was warm and still was cold and I guess thinking of soup you would expect it to be hot but it was not and this was how it was supposed to be served. Eww!

9138892993_554ab2d6d1_z.jpg

Mom ordered the tomato soup, Jason ordered the Lamb Kefta Sliders and Olivia ordered the Kids Tomato soup as well that came with Naan bread.
I did however take a bite of the sliders and they were absolutely delicious! Mom and I ended up trading appetizers because hers tasted much better to my liking! Plus the appetizers here were huge!

9141120218_fdcdc6458f_z.jpg

Soon it was time to pick out our entrees. Mom chose the Slow Cooked Butter Chicken and Short Ribs with Rice. She said that the short ribs were too dry and didn't taste right. She ate the butter chicken instead until she just couldn't eat anymore. Sometimes certain spices messes with her stomach and she had to keep running to the bathroom. I felt so bad so she just finished her soup and at some Naan bread they brought out for her.

9141118344_3b9d6ea63e_z.jpg

Jason got I believe the Bison Burger on the Naan Bread. He said it was awesome and he would definitely get again!

9138890937_cc51e53e41_z.jpg

I got the Tandoori Chicken on the Naan bread and it just didn't fill me up. The spices were just too much for me and so I ended up eating some of Olivia's food instead. We found the waitress at the time to be quite annoyed with us but when you have someone who has multiple food allergies it just doesn't mean that you treat us like dirt.

9141119758_367d113258_z.jpg

Olivia got the Savannah Joe which she did not like at all. Thank goodness they brought her out some fries at that time since she wasn't eating anything and more Naan bread too. Something they did with Olivia that I have never seen a restaurant do at Disney is spread a little Disney Cheer to her. She was chosen as the guest of the day and was taken out to have her picture taken with the animals. So cute! She loved it and she even got to take home a souvenir as well which was a perfect treat for her.

9138889367_1b73e95589_z.jpg

For dessert, my choices were very limited! They had several things there that I just couldn't have like the Mango Mousse that our waitress Natalie put in for me. I had to tell her to take it back and I wanted at that point to just have the children's cookies n Milk dessert like Olivia had chosen. She eventually brought it out to me since I knew it was a safe dessert for me to have. Jason had gotten the Banana Kulfi but I don't have a picture because he demolished it before I could take a picture of it. Mom got the carrot cake and she said it was good but she wouldn't order it again.

Jason's dessert...um it's gone!
9138888719_b44cba1ff6_z.jpg

My Cookies n Milk dessert. It was so good too!

Olivia's Milk n Cookies dessert.

Mom's Carrot Cake. I do believe we ended up taking this back to the resort later that day.
9138886135_5c47246c7b_z.jpg

One thing that I have to say is this restaurant is good but for someone like me who has severe food allergies just wasn't up to par. I don't think I will eat here again. Plus I didn't like the way Natalie treated us at the end. Instead of waiting for us to give her the tip money she instead circled the amount to be given to her. :scared1: Um No! That is very rude in my opinion and if she was patient enough she would have gotten a nice tip from us instead she got a talking to from the manager on duty and we left her a not so nice tip.

After lunch was over we headed back over to the MK for some more fun activities. :)

Next up...Playing in the waters of Fantasyland!

Gosh...you all might have thought I forgot about this trip report but I haven't. Let me say that I had a very rough 8 weeks of school and now I am getting ready to start on my 2nd 8 weeks of school. I will be happy when I'm done with school for the Spring Semester! But let's move on to another post or two...since I'm planning a new trip in September...we need to get this one done!

After lunch at Sanaa it was time for us to go back to MK to go allow Olivia to ride more rides and enjoy more fun at my favorite park! We got back in the car and we headed back over to the park! We of course this time got a better park than we did that morning in the Handicap parks but it was nice because Mom was having a hard time with her knee at that time. Even though she had knee surgery back in April it was still a lot of walking we were doing. We grabbed the stroller back out of the van and continued on to the park entrance. I always skip there because well it's Disney World and I just can!!!

We wanted to head on over to the New Fantasyland after we rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and even though we could have gotten pictures and autographs with Woody and Jesse we passed and hopped on the train over to Fantasyland. It was a hot one I will say and it was a good time to find something to cool off. We instead rode The Great Goofini (I still call it the barnstormer) and after that we decided to ride Dumbo! We did have to wait but it was so nice to wait in the A/C and allow Olivia to run around and play while we waited. They said the wait time would be a good 30 minutes but 10 minutes later it was time to go board our Dumbo. Olivia and Nanie rode in one and Jason and I rode in our own! We had so much fun and let me say that is a ride that just can't be passed on our next trip!

9140330732_41f7247321_z.jpg

9138103349_161efc0a1d.jpg

After getting off the ride we headed into the Big Top to check out a few things and we ended up getting a snack while in there. Mom got a Frozen drink while I got a Mickey Cake Pop. Yum! So good. While we ate it, Olivia discovered the Water Play area in Fantasyland! She had such a good time and really enjoyed running through the waters getting all nice and cooled off!

After riding a few rides and even going to a few different places like shops and what not it was soon time for dinner! It was one of our favorite places in MK to eat at...Tony's Town Square!!!

Up Next...Tony's Town Square and Swimming at Coronado Springs!:woohoo:

After having a good day at MK minus getting stuck on Splash Mountain and having terrible service at Sanaa it was time to get our grub on at Tony's Town Square! We love this place and have eaten here since 2010 when Olivia and I first started to come here!

We went to Main Street and checked in. It was a little longer wait than we were used to but it gave us time to chill out and Olivia was watching "Lady and The Tramp" and Jason, Mom and I were just enjoying the cooler air. It was still hot out but hey we came during the summer...so it was to be expected! About 30 minutes later it was time for us to be seated and we were placed at a very nice location in the restaurant. Of course I forgot to take pictures because my camera was just about dead...and so was my phone. Go figure! But we did enjoy a nice dinner! Here is what we ordered:

Mom: Zucchini Fries, New York Steak Strip, and I believe Gelato.
Jason: Calamari, New York Steak Strip and Spumoni.
Olivia: Sliced Apples, Cheese Pizza and Ice Cream Sundae.
Me: Tomato and Mozzarella salad, NY Steak Strip and the Signature Cheesecake which was Key Lime...it was good just very rich.

The cheesecake was the only picture I got during the whole dinner. Figures!

9138104609_7002bc8c56.jpg

After dinner we were very tired and we wanted to head back to the resort and meet up with Justin for a night of swimming. He had never been to the pool at CSR and we decided why not. It's nice out and still steamy so we all met up at the resort. We all got ready and mom decided she was going to stay in the room and so we got in the car and headed to the pool. We parked close by..or so we thought and grabbed a couple chairs by the pool. Olivia went down the slide only I bribed her to! Haha! Then we headed over and swam for a bit while we talked trash about a few people we knew. Then it was so funny. We were talking in a circle and Olivia was playing on the steps in the pool and this girl walked right through our circle..not around us but through our little circle. Didn't say excuse me or anything. She got out of the pool and was talking to her parents...no yelling at her parents telling them we were in her way. Ugh. Of course Justin said..."Did you see that? She locked her eyes on me!!! Someone should be watching her!" Of course we started to laugh at it because it then became a joke with us during the rest of the trip but it was classic!

On the way back to the car we were telling Justin about Prancersizing and he was like what is that? I pulled up on my iPhone the youtube video of it and he died laughing over it. So instead of walking back to the van...he decided to prancersize with Olivia! Classic! If only I had gotten the video of it!:crazy2:

After getting back to the room we said our goodbyes until tomorrow and headed to bed after grabbing a quick shower and all!

Up next...Breakfast at Tusker House...and Getting a Scooter!

Good news!!! We just booked our next trip to Disney World. We are going September 15-21st. Can't wait!!! We will be there for a few days of the Food & Wine Festival! I'm beyond excited!!!

Today was Animal Kingdom day and it's Olivia's favorite park! We had dining reservations this morning at 9:10am at Tusker House so we actually got in before everyone else this day! :cool1: One thing I'm not sure if I mentioned it or not was I had been on steroids for about 8 months prior to our Disney trip in June so I unforntunately was still swollen from being on them that long. Gained a ton of weight too but thankfully have lost a lot of it. Still working on it but I will be back down to my pre-steroid weight soon. You might be wondering why I am telling you this now...well here is why. Normally I am way ahead of my family heading towards our ADR but not this trip. The heat didn't help either!

Well as we were on the bridge heading towards Africa and towards Tusker House the mob of people were swarming behind me and I was struggling to make it over the bridge. My legs and feet were killing me and honestly I was in just about pure agony just trying to get to breakfast. Once we arrived there we parked the stroller and we headed on to the booth to check in. We made it right at 9:10 which was amazing if you ask me.

When I made the dining reservations I put on there that there were allergies. My allergies have since calmed down but I still need to avoid sausage, a lot of tropical fruit and what not. So soon were were called to be seated but not before Mom and Olivia had their picture taken with Safari Donald!!!

Soon we were seated in an area where it was so nice to be close to the buffet and the chef came out to talk to me and show me around the buffet. I was very impressed with the amount of food that I could and couldn't have. But I loved the fact that they had Krispy Kreme Donuts up there! And yes I probably at a dozen of donuts at breakfast! I have a problem with KK donuts because everytime I see the "HOT NOW" sign on I have to get a dozen of donuts. OK I admit I get 2 dozen! :rotfl2: They brought out regular OJ for our table and also let us get Water and Cokes too. I was pretty good at drinking a ton of water and we always made sure we had cold water bottles for our days in the park. Here are a few pictures from Tusker House and Olivia.

After finishing up at TH we headed out in the park and went straight towards The Safari! It wasn't a long wait either which was very nice! We sat on the second row and got some really good shots of the animals too! Here are a few of my favorite ones too!

After we were off of the Safari we headed over to Expedition Everest to ride it. We still had a good 1 1/2 hours before lunch at Yak & Yeti and so we decided to wait. I believe the wait time was around 60 minutes so we went ahead and got in line. Not bad at all. Now I will say that standing in the heat was not good but the line was moving pretty quickly and so it was nice to get near the fans when we could. Olivia behaved fairly good for having to stand still and then when it came time we got on the back of the line. Very cool indeed. Never did it there before but will definitely do it again for sure! After our ride...we headed on over towards Yak & Yeti and decided to see if they could get us. By this point I was in tears. My legs were killing me and I thought honestly they were going to fall off from pain!

We got there and they said it would be a good 20 minute wait so that was Ok. We happened to get in the A/C where my legs could take a break from it. By this point Mom was trying to get me a scooter to ride around since I was having such a hard time with walking. Mom found one with Apple Scooters and even better they were going to deliver it to the park! I highly recommend using them if you need one!!

Well we were quickly seated upstairs by the window and we made our decisions on what we were going to have. For drink I had to order myself a Pina Colada, Water & Coke.

Jason got the Baby Back Ribs and Olivia got the Chicken Nuggets and fries. For dessert Mom and I both got the Fried Wonton's to go, Jason got Sorbet and Olivia got an ice cream sundae. Yum!

While we were eating Mom and Jason headed up to the front of AK because Apple Scooters called and they were there to deliver the scooter for me. Jason went out to the van and got mom's registration for her handicap sticker she has. Mom had surgery on her left knee last April so she needed to be able to walk not a far way at times. She went to guest services and got a Guest Assist so that we can use it at times. I will say I ended up putting that thing in Rabbit Mode and it flew faster than the others could keep up.

Up Next...Finishing up AK and Dinner at Via Napoli.
