For those of you who didn't read my PTR, this trip started out with me and my husband and our friends John and Linda, who just got married. However a week or so before the trip we found out our friends couldn't go with us, and so at the last minute my brother Lonnie decided to come take up the spare bed in out hotel room. Lonnie hadn't been to Disneyland in almost 10 years so we were pretty excited he was going to be able to come with us!
So the cast of characters for this trip is....
Martin and I

and Lonnie

Well I guess Ill begin my story now....

Day 1 and 2 Traveling and Downtown Disney

I am a nanny and I work from 3:45am-7:30am so I went to work and then ran a few last minute errands. My brother had to drive down from Oregon so I went home and waited for him to get there, finished packing, and took a nap. When I woke up my brother was here so we loaded up my car and dropped my dog off at a friends house for the weekend. We then picked Martin up from work and hit the road.

He was annoyed that he had to start posing for pictures already. We drove to Fresno, about 5 hours, and stayed the night at our friends who were supposed to come with us. We still wanted to see them, and it made for a good stopping place. The next morning we spent a little time with Linda and John and hit the road again around 11:30am. The drive down was pretty uneventful, I slept for some of it which is always nice because it makes time go by faster. WE hit some traffic as we got into LA (imagine that):lmao: so we got to Anaheim at about 4:00pm and checked into our hotel. I was very pleasantly surprised with our hotel. We stayed at the Del Sol Inn which is pretty much right across the street from the main entrance. I had heard mixed reviews about this hotel so I was a little nervous, but it was perfect! It was cute and very clean inside and out and the rooms were huge! They would be great for those of you with little ones who need to have some room to run around. I was very happy with the hotel, the only complaint I can possibly think of is that the water in the shower changed temperature a little bit one time I showered. The pool even changed colors at night which was kind of fun!

We got settled into our hotel and headed over to Downtown Disney. We walked around the shops and hotels, and goofed off for a little while.

We all picked out shirts in the World of Disney, and we must think alike because they all turned out to be different shades of green. I was kind of excited about this because I don't think I could have talked the guys into getting matchy matchy shirts if I had brought it up. So it was better that they did it unintentionally and I knew it would look cute in pictures. They guys got Mad Hatter shirts and I got a Minnie Mouse shirt. We were getting hungry so we made our way over to House of Blues. I had purchased a 25 dollar gift card for only 3 dollars on restraunt.com! It was yummy yummy!! I had the wild mushroom penne

Martin had the Blues Burger (he gets a hamburger almost everywhere he goes)

and Lonnie got the Jambalaya which was soooo good!!

Once we were done with dinner we walked around a little more and enjoyed some of the live music in DTD and then went back to our hotel to get some rest for the next day.

Up next day 1 of 2 at Disneyland........:woohoo:

:cool1: Woo Hoo......the trip report has begun!!!!

Love the Mad Hatter hats/wigs.....we saw them on our trip......the only problem with something like that is you'd never wear it anywhere but there......lol

House of Blues is really good. We went last year & really enjoyed it!!

Can't wait to see more! :woohoo:

Part I of Day 1 @ Disneyland!!!

The morning started off to me waking up to someone walking around in our hotel room. I of course began to freak, seeing as I was practically still asleep, but it turned out it was just Lonnie. He has some pretty bad back problems and wakes up all the time because his back hurts. It about gave me a heart attack though!! Since the alarm was about to go off anyway, I just got up and got in the shower. While I was in the shower Martin got up and got dressed. Which is when we figured out his shirt was waaaaaaaay to big! He is so tall and so skinny that it is hard to find things long enough, but that he isnt swimming in. So he just wore a regular shirt and we made plans to exchange his shirt once we got over to DTD. So once we were ready we headed to the lobby to check out the continental breakfast. It was ok, there were pastries and some cold cereals. That was about it. The coffee was disgusting though so we walked over to Disneyland. When we got there we noticed there was no one in the courtyard area so we took advantage of it and took some pictures.

I told Martin to take a picture with the I because it looks just like him LOL
44585_1570778430293_1260472068_1555072_3436293_n.jpg

They dont have any of the letters for my name so I just picked the A
44585_1570778470294_1260472068_1555073_1800118_n.jpg

Once our photo session was over, Martin waited in line at the gates while Lonnie and I made a coffee run to the bakery in DTD. Lonnie got a regular coffee and I got a blended vanilla coffee. Mine alone cost over 7 dollars, and it was ridiculously sweet! I couldn't even drink it all. I poured a tiny but of it into Lonnies to cool his down, and it was enough to sweeten his whole cup. I think I was more awake from the sugar high than from the caffeine. :rotfl: But it did the job, I was awake and ready for those gates to open! We also tried to exchange Martins shirt but the World Od Disney wasnt open yet. So we made our way back to Martin and waited about 20 minutes for opening and then the day really began!
We made a mad dash to space mountain (Martins favorite) and got a fast pass for it, then rode it while there was no line. It was of course amazing!!!
44292_1570797310765_1260472068_1555149_4380879_n.jpg

Dont worry he posed for the camera he doesnt normally look this creepy lol
when we got off, there was still absolutely no line! Our luck begins! So we rode it again! Then we ran over to Indiana Jones, guess what...... no line there either! Woo HOO!!! We got off that, got fastpasses for it, and went over to the haunted mansion....no line(not as impressive but still)
Does he look scared?
44585_1570778590297_1260472068_1555076_8280159_n.jpg

Then the jungle cruise....walked right on.

44585_1570778550296_1260472068_1555075_172109_n.jpg

Then pirates....no wait...
44585_1570778630298_1260472068_1555077_71056_n.jpg

Then we ran over and did Thunder Mountain Rail Road, and got fastpasses for later. At this point we were really excited because normally there are lines by this time of the day. We were starting to get a little hungry, so we hit up the Dole pineapple whip stand. Its one of my favorite treats, and I had been talking to Lonnie about it the whole week leading up to the trip. It did not disappoint! We shared two between the three of us and that was plenty. So once our tummies were full of pineapply goodness we made our way to the Matterhorn. This ride is not my favorite, but Lonnie wanted to try it and I didn't want him to miss out on anything so we got in "line". This was probably the longest line for a ride that we had all weekend and it was.........wait for it....... 15 minutes tops!! For the Matterhorn!!!!:woohoo: Amazing right?! Since we had a few minutes we took a few pictures...

Lonnie kept saying he was too broke for Disneyland food so he thought this would be a good alternative
41047_1570785310465_1260472068_1555087_5908035_n.jpg

We waited our 10-15 minutes and it was our turn to get in our bob sled, we noticed it was taking a long time for the previous group to get back to the gate. Then a cast member informed us that side of the ride had broke down, and we would have to be merged into the line for the other side. Fortunately since we were next we got put pretty close to the front of the line on the other side and in no time we embarked on our journey to find the yeti. It was as always a fun but very bumpy ride, and Lonnie agreed that we didn't need to do it again this trip. When we got off the Matterhorn, the boys spotted the tea cups. I have a love hate realtionship with the tea cups, they are sooo cute but they give me a headache. I tried to convince them to let me watch but they made me go on it. At least we got some pictures out of it.

Martin was sitting to my right and if I turned I got to dizzy so they pretty much all turned out to be of Lonnie. We could not believe how much we had already done. It wasn't even quite 11am yet! So we kind of just started to wander and do whatever we happened to come across. We came across Mr.Toads.....

We also did Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln, the art gallery, pet the horses, and looked around most of the shops on Maine street. This took us to about noon, and the most anticipated meal of the trip!
Stay tuned for Part II of Day 1

Sorry it has taken me so long to get to this, I have been working extra hours lately and because my hours are so weird I am always exhausted! I will try to do the next part tomorrow.

I figured you were busy....just wanted you to know I was still interested in reading your report!!!

Love your pictures...looks like you all were having a great time....my favorite is you with Mr Toad......hilarious!!

Amazing that you had no crowds....walking right on is AWESOME!!!! So on the Matterhorn did you ride the Fantasyland side or the Tomorrowland side......I've yet to ride the Tomorrowland side....and they are different!

I'm going to miss the letters in the esplanade when they remove them. I had our family each take a letter & plan on buying white frames & painting them to match the letter color & then figure out how I want to arrange them. Lucky for us there were 10 letters for 10 of us...worked out great!

Can't wait to see more!! Enjoy your weekend!

Take your time. I will continue to stare at your House of Blues food porn...

Thanks for hanging in there with me! ;)
We ended up riding the Tomorrowland side, I haven't ridden it often enough to be able to tell the difference between the two. This time we saw the yeti twice and I didn't remember the second time but that could just be my poor memory.
What a cute idea with the letters! I want to see a picture when its all done and up on your wall! I am going to miss the letters too, I love seeing all the different ways they decorate them. It also gives me that excited we are here feeling when I see it.

Hey girl! I'm here (finally). I wish I would have known sooner that you were writing a TR!!

Love the pic w/ the Mad Hatter hats...although I find the hats TOTALLY creepy. The first time I saw one, it was on this cute little girl and it fit her so perfectly. I pointed her out to Todd and said "how cute!" Then, about an hour later I saw it on this weird guy, and I realized that almost no one can pull it off without looking creepy. I guess that is the point though. :confused3

I also LOVE the picture of you in the letter A. You should frame that one!

Can't wait to read more. :goodvibes

It was me and you who saw the little girl in the mad hatter hat on the little mermaid merry go round, and then on the creepy guy later. Thats why I had them put it on because I knew they would look totally creepy for the picture :goodvibes Glad your on board! Now if I could just take the time to sit down and finish it lol the problem is I didnt take notes so after the first morning I dont really remember all that well what all we did. So I have been procrastinating:laughing:
