A couple DME questions...

Hello,

We recently called to book the magical express for our trip Feb 2nd to 10th. We actually arrive on the 1st, but it will be pretty late so we will stay at an airport hotel that night and then go back to the airport to ride the DME the next morning. We originally told them 7:45 am for airport pick up time, but then we decided it might be best to have more time so we aren't rushed for the epcot opening at 9:00 am, so we changed it to 7:30 am. However, when we called the second time the phone rep that we don't need to provide a pick up time to go to the resort, instead we can just hop on the DME whenever. Is this accurate? How often do the buses come, and do we simply provide a resort confirmation number to get on the bus? Thanks!

If you've already made a reservation, just arrive at the airport when you'd like. A difference in time of 15 minutes is a negligible difference.

There's no "time between buses" – buses are sitting at the airport and will hold until they have an appropriate number of guests before departing.

You'll scan your Magic Band before boarding the bus.

We don't receive our magic bands until we get to the resort since we are international. Are there any alternative ways to check in?

Yes they can look up your resort stay on their tablets with your name. Can’t remember if I needed resort confirmation number or not

the res number helps but as long as you have the exact spelling of how the name on the res was booked, you don't need it. I've heard this is only an issue if you have several first and/or last names or you don't know what name you booked under, like if your given name is jonathan , you go by Jonny, and you booked your res under jon-joe-bob.

Print out a copy of your resort reservation. It's nice to have in a pinch. That way, there won't be any questions.

Bring some paperwork that specifically applies to Magical Express. For example, since you are staying the night before at a motel near the airport, you may not use the yellow DME baggage tags and must claim your bags upon arrival in Orlando, so you could bring the unused yellow tags with you. Or bring the DME information that was sent to you or similar information you printed off of your computer. As you look for the proper bus queue, a roving welcoming area CM may or may not send you to the counter to have the DME vouchers (if any) revalidated or re-issued.
