Is it possible to see both of these? They are only scheduled at these times during our visit and we only have one park per day passes....? Does Star Wars start late? Is this timing specifically to mess with peoples planning? Any advice?

1. Nope.
2. Nope.
3. Probably.
4. Park hoppers are totally worth it.

It is designed so that approx. 8500 guests from Fantasmic! don't try to fit into approx. 1150 spaces to see the Star Wars Fwx.

Disney painted themselves into a nightmare of a corner with the much too small venue for the firework show.

I agree, with it being mostly projections you can't even really view it properly from a distance either. I did really enjoy the Star Wars fireworks, but they are not easy to watch, especially for kids. Fantasmic you can sit down, get a snack, kids get a good view, it's just a bit more enjoyable.

No, sorry, it's not. You'll have to choose one or the other.

Not unless there are technical issues, which don't happen very often.

Yes, the scheduling is very intentional. Like @Robo said, there are very few places from which to see a (mostly) unobstructed view of the projections in the Star Wars show. The old Star Wars fireworks were very different, you could see them from various points all over the park. But now that the show centers on the projections and not the fireworks, you have to be directly in front of the Chinese Theater to enjoy the show.

We tried this back in November...left f! Went up to fireworks and jammed packed...we could see them but had an obstructed view... they were cool though
