7/13/2016 Magic Copenhagen to Dover Geothermal Cruise

Yes, TA reviews can often be biased, but can be used as a rough guide. I also cross check on Cruise Critic. I need to make sure if we are taking a tour with someone that they are reputable enough to show up and to get us back to the ship on time! We also tend to do private tours (that's what we did on our Eastern Med cruise two summers ago and also on our Baltic cruise), or else just bring along a tour book and do a DIY tour. The only Disney tours I will use this time will be for my mom, who has limited mobility and will be on the "panoramic" type bus tours where she can see something of the city/countryside without having to walk much. The rest of the family will be doing more active walking type tours.
Yes there for guidance only.

Whilst many here are seasoned cruisers we are coming up to some important dates, so let's have a recap.

Note the DCL website has been upgraded and things will be different to what you booked in 2015.

Booking actives for cruise, open for the 120, days mark,on Tuesday for platinum and concierge, you should also now be paid in full. Concierge could put in requests by email since last week.

Note you can't book online if your not paid in full, and the Tuesday window relates to platinum and concierge, if one or more platinum cruisers are in your stateroom you will be classed as platinum, but if travelling with another stateroom that's gold you can't book together until 105 days.

The next booking Windows will open up at ,105 days mark, for Gold ( 5+ cruises) to be followed by 90 days Silver, and 75 days, new to DCL cruisers.

You may have booked on DCL many times before but the website has changed and you have to make decisions fast.

Check in online starts at 00.00, thats Eastern USA time and thats normally 5am UK time. But as USA swapped clocks last night and the U.K. swaps at Easter currently the time difference is just four hours.

Do not log into your reservation until 00.00.

You can log into your DCL profile before 00.00.

The best route is via Castaway club if your registered and then go to’ view my cruises’.

Just before 00.00 hit this cruise reservation number, on the right hand side and also then click ‘my online check in’ left hand side. (Now that check in isn’t available to at least 3 hours later. Don’t worry about that at the moment, just click the toggle.

Now be sitting on the my online check in page at 00.00 and the moment your internet clock says 00.00 or 04.00 UK, click, my cruise activities.

You can try this a few times in advance the screen will come up but you will not have the toggles for booking.

Note only one person can log in per stateroom, if two log in it will freeze!

Now the best route is to have a plan in advance. Have a plan A, plan B and plan C agreed with the family if your desired activities go. Each day of the cruise is shown go to the day you want to do something, click add activity on that screen and then options come up for adult dinning, port adventures, spa, and even my onboard fun for the BBB on the Magic, just added recently. I have known new port adventures to show up they haven't been advertised on the site before, and care due to our port times dome long trips may not be available.

Brunch will go quickly at Palo, Dinner on sea days will go fast, Any shore trip with animals ( horses) will go fast. Now if you save any shore trips to your favourites before the booking date it will have a * next to it when you look on that day.

You can search adult dinning and spa from the main landing page without selecting a date if the day you prefer isn’t available.

Now when you select something, add all the names you have in your party, click check availability times should come up, select one, and confirm, now it goes to a shopping cart, my advice to you is to confirm that on the top right hand side before you move on to book the next thing.

The DCL site often boots you out and if you do this anything you have confirmed from your shopping cart will be safe, if you get booted out and haven’t confirmed, it will be lost.

I think first sea day Brunch will go fast, then second sea day, and Palo midweek say Frozen night will go fast, or movie night will go fast, my guess Iceland overnight, night, when there is not a show. Spa goes on formal nights.

To be on the safe side you can email all of your activities to yourself at the end and I would store them as DCLs website does strange things.

Online check in starts at 03.00 Eastern or ( normally ) 8am UK, ( Tuesday 7 am) but in the past for me it wasn’t up until late afternoon. This includes your port arrival time and its best to book this asap, unless you are on DCL bus transfers. Platinum and concierge do not need a PAT.

You need your passports and travel information, flights and credit card for this process; you will need to print out a document at the end with a bar code for port arrival. Ensure printer has ink.

If you have more than one reservation with DCL do not look at the other reservation before this, but log out and clear cookies.

Note if unlucky on Palo booking online, about 45% of slots are held back for reservations on embarkation.

Hi folks. Just thought we'd come over and say a welcome aboard to our newcomers. We're looking forward to seeing the sights on this tour, especially northern Scotland! Our DD (16) does a mean Merida impression and is happy to email similarly aged teens for a pre-cruise "meet". Looks like Andrew has plenty research done already so I'm off to read up. Thanks Andrew.

Hi folks. My DS Michael will turn 16 at the beginning of the cruise. He would love to meet some teens in advance. His email is

if you want to pass it along.
I would be careful posting an email address here on an open forum, it's better to have people post replies here and organise by PM message.

Super useful information, DISNEY FANTASY! Thank you for posting. A friend of mine already warned me about the new website quirks, how you can book Palo and excursions right when your window opens up, but that you can't really "check in" until hours later. I do still have a few questions, however, since this will be the first time that I will be attempting to book things for three cabins. We have put a daughter in with my mom and my sister so we can all book during the Gold window. I have linked the reservations, and when I go into my Castaway Cay account, I am able to "see" all three. So does this mean that I will be able to book for everyone, or will my sister need to sign into her own account to book (I'd much rather be able to do it for everyone!). I am going to get her passport, credit card info, etc. in hopes that I can do everything for all of us.

Brunch will go quickly at Palo, Dinner on sea days will go fast, Any shore trip with animals ( horses) will go fast. Now if you save any shore trips to your favourites before the booking date it will have a * next to it when you look on that day.

How do you save shore trips to favorites? I don't see that as an option right now?
And I am worried about choosing the "right" Palo date. The kids don't like us to do it on the formal night. I don't want to miss AP show nights (since we are sailing with first time cruisers, plus *I* like those nights, toO!) I want to do it on the Frozen night. But now you've got me worried it will be all booked, DISNEY FANTASY ;)

You need your passports and travel information, flights and credit card for this process; you will need to print out a document at the end with a bar code for port arrival. Ensure printer has ink.

I'm assuming we can also go back in later and do this? (I don't want to print documents for others in the party -- we are located on different continents)

If you have more than one reservation with DCL do not look at the other reservation before this, but log out and clear cookies.

Do you mean don't look at a reservation for a completely different cruise, or don't look at the other linked reservation in the party?

If you can see all three reservations you can book it, " if" thry are all that castaway club level. If say one stateroom is all a lower level you wait till then to book theirs, do not have two people log in st the same time it will crash.
You cannot save favours any more the new website doesn't do that currently.Palo dinner will have available dates it shouldn't sell out, brunch will. Brunch is limited to sea days. On the first page there is a list of the expected rotations.online check in can be undertaken later, it doesn't have to be done straight away, platinum and concierge do not need a PAT do it can be completed anytime. Do not have more than one person log into your current reservation at any one time. Not other cruises.

Online check in was a breeze but have, passports, ( if not cruised recently- will be there) flight information, credit card details, and also remember to 'save, say on declarations for not being pregnant and if you take costs for all the party etc.

I have been watching this thread from the beginning but since we were not 100% when we first booked it I forgot to actually join the roll call. Here it is now:

Name: DIS name: Jasrhon First name: Rhonda and DH (Jason)
Family: DD: Zara (turns 16 in June), DS: Kieran (turns 8 in May)
Home town: Vancouver, BC Canada
Something: Like Mom of a *Princess* I didn't go to Disney as a child. My first Disney trip was on my Honeymoon just after I turned 24. Also, like Mom of a *Princess* I have more than made up for it since.
This will also be our 3rd cruise with thestewarts and our DDs are looking forward to meeting up again. Send me a PM if you have a teen wanting to connect before we sail.
How many DCL cruises: This will be number 13 for me, number 12 for my DH and DD and number 9 for our DS (I went on a girls only cruise in January with friends I met on DCL and had so much fun!). In all of our cruises we have never done the same itinerary on the same ship.
