Had a great day at the park today. Crowds were average -- not terribly busy but the park was decidedly well attended. Rope-dropped Fantasyland and rode Mr. Toad, Dumbo and then the carousel... which may be my first post-pandemic ride of it. Headed to Buzz and scored 1.6M on my first round and then 2,087,000 on my second! I was pleased with that second score, as you can imagine. I thought that my score was 2,080,000 and was about to take one last shot but decided against it. I'm glad that I did because when I checked my score at the photo kiosk, I saw that it was actually 2,087,000. One more shot may have put me over the (arbitrary) limit and reset my score. That's always a major disappointment (and a mild outrage) when that happens. Phew!

Throughout the day I met several cool / pleasant / interesting people. While in line for the carousel I spoke with a nice family visiting from Canada. They had their two young children with them and it was all of their first-ever visit to the park! A little later, a girl (4 or 5 years old) got on the "horse" next to me and I could see that she was having trouble securing the safety belt. I asked if she needed help and I explained how to do it. She seemed pleased that she was able to do it herself. It was nice to help a child.

While at Pooh Corner I saw two women wearing First Visit buttons. When I asked where they were from, they told me Japan. I took a few years of Japanese in college (as some of you may recall) and was able to ask them a few things in their native language. Here's the cool part: they were both CMs at Disneyland Tokyo! Side note: about five months ago I met a CM from DL Paris while in line for Buzz. In fact, she actually worked at the Buzz ride there. Crazy. She was good at the ride/game and definitely gave me a run for my money.

I hadn't gotten a lot of sleep the past several nights so I was tired and left around 2:15. It was a nice time but I needed a nap :-).

Incidentally, I checkout out the Fantasmic area and saw nothing of note. There was simply a green scrim in place, as there was last Sunday.

I've got park maps if anyone would like a set. Simply DM me with your preferred address. Unless otherwise specified, I'll send a one DL map and one DCA. Domestic only, please. However, if you're in another country and you simply must have a set, I could be persuaded to send one :-).

Thanks for the great pictures! Sounds like a wonderful day :)

Any luck with your quest for postcards?

Nice report as always Rob! One of these trips I will spend a sunday in the parks and manage to meet you.

By all means! I'm usually to the right of the hub at 7:35 on Sunday mornings for rope drop. And usually I can be found at or around Buzz in the early morning :-).
