To anyone else who enjoys trip reports-here is a plug for the ones from Missyrose- Absolutely amazing photos from her boyfriend Franklin accompanied by well-written commentary by Missy. Great food porn, too, if you are into that!

Can't wait to see her report after her stay at BCV!

.

Thanks Dee! My plan is to try and put some live photos up while we're at BC. The TR for the upcoming trip is sure to be EPIC! :goodvibes

Hi everyone, I have been out of the loop for a few days. We are arriving at Beach Club on Monday.:jumping1::jumping1:

We are there to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, so looking forward to staying at a Epcot resort, for the first time. We booked a standard CL view room. So is there anything new we need to know or suggestions to make the trip extra special? We will be staying for 6 nights. Any help is greatly appreciated. :)

Have you read up about club level on that thread? I love club level at Beach Club. So wonderful coming to start off the day with breakfast in the lounge and to end the day with a cordial and sweet treat. You can ask for water and they will bring you large bottles of Evian to have in your room. Last trip, they actually delivered them to our room. Usually they will hand them to you. We often got two or three (when there were 5 of us in the deluxe cl room). If you have any special dietary needs (e.g.,lactose free milk) tell them and they will accomodate you at the lounge. Make sure the club level concierge knows its your anniversary and if you have any special requests, let them know. They will also do personal shopping for you so if you see something special you want to have waiting in the room as a surprise, they will do that for you. Have a great trip!

After much thought and review we have booked! We had such a great experience at the Beach Club last year, I didn't seem to have it in me to try anywhere else. I looked and looked but nothing seemed to compare or meet our needs as well. A little nervous about the crowds and heat in June but now that the kids are getting older, their school schedule just doesn't seem to accomodate times during the school year. So we are going in June and going to make the best of it! I look at it as better to be there than not to be!

Has anyone done this? I have booked a couple of packages for my brother and family. They will be there the day before with a room only reservation. I saw in another thread that you can go to guest relations and pick up the park tickets up to 3 days before your package starts. Has anyone done this? The CM's at AAA travel say no but the thread said they would say no!!! And someone had done it in 2010. I am fairly new at this booking reservations for people (other then myself of course!!!! :goodvibes) and want to get it right. It would save a ton of money if he could do this as opposed to getting 1 day tickets for the first day.

I thought I would ask in this forum since everyone seems so knowledgeable and friendly!

Thank you

We did this on our December 2010 trip and it worked out great :goodvibes. We had 2 nights room only at AKL before changing resorts where we had a package. Our first day we headed to AK where we went to guest relations and requested early ticket pick up. The CM was very knowledgeable and within 10 minutes we were entering AK. I was only asked to show a photo ID, but others have reported needing their package confirmation number, so make sure they have that with them just in case ;).

Amanda, hope the training is going well. We're so excited to hear your ToT 10 report. We were at Poly last year for our youngest son's bday during marathon weekend and there was such great energy!

Hi BCV23! :wave2:

Dee, thanks so much for the tip - LOVE Missyrose's CR trip report!

Yay for the slide! (Although we're pretty easy to please when it comes to SAB!)

Hi,
We are staying at the Yacht Club from 11/28/12-12/5/12. We originally booked CL at BC but since my mom is coming and her only request was a balcony we switched to YC CL to make sure she's happy.

Please add us to the Be Our Guest list. We'd love some time with the noodles when they aren't in use by others.

We've stayed at both the Beach Club and the Beach Club Villas many times. The BCVs are actually a closer walk to Epcot than many of the BC rooms. We love the fact that it is so easy to walk to Epcot. And the walk to HS isn't too bad, either. It is a great resort to stay at when you have teenagers or family groups, because everyone can go their separate ways and it is easy to meet up again later. It is also easy to walk over to watch the Grand Illumination at night.

That being said, we are opting for the Wilderness Lodge for the first time ever, since we now have grandchildren and the MK is not that easy to reach from the BC.

We stayed at the YC in March and loved it. The location is so amazing.

That said, our first family trip was to WL, back in 2004. I still have a soft spot for WL and know we will return there at some point in the future. It is a great resort for small children - close to MK, and a relatively small property, so it is quick for little legs to get around.

But we will also be back to the BC or YC too! :)

I love a good trip report! Heading over to check it out now.

Thanks!

Sorry this off topic.

My DH & I wanted to stay at BC for our anniversary, but we couldn't pull it off this time.

We are looking at the Mount Washington Hotel in NH. If any of you have stayed there, please share your thoughts. Thanks.

To all at BC/YC, Enjoy!

Just had to stop by and share that I just saw that we finally have a narrator for our Candlelight Processional reservation (via Rose and Crown)...Blair Underwood! I'm excited! :) I must admit to being jealous of those who will get Gary Sinise at Christmas ;) , but I'll take Blair Underwood! :)

Soooo excited to be staying within walking distance of Epcot for this trip!! The kids will be at Sandcastle Club while we enjoy a night out. Can't wait!!!

Just 69 more days! :cool1:

I don't have any advice for you, Angel, but wanted to say congratulations!!! Enjoy your anniversary celebration!pixiedust:

Thank you my friend :goodvibes. How many years have we known each other now? A long time...from old concierge threads. :rotfl: we are here at the world now, staying at Shades of Green moving over to Beach Club CL tomorrow.
We had a little Pixie Dust sprinkled today, we were going to ride POTC, the CM noticed our anniversary buttons and made us Captains of the ship we sailed. :goodvibes. It really was fun seeing the ride from the front row, complete different prospective. Same thing happened a little later on Splash Mountain, they insisted that we had to ride the front row for our anniversary. It was So much fun.....and we were SO wet. We didn't care just laught and laughted.

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the list!

:cool1:

All of our recent trips have been in the summer and the best advice I can give you is to get to the parks early! Because the herds of vacationers don't start arriving until 10:30 or 11, you can get more done in the first couple of hours than you can the rest of the day. And it is coolest time of the day, too.

Just back from BCV after a split stay with BLT. I posted a pool update while I was there, but here's a little more feedback about our stay.

Compared to BLT, the 2 br villa was tiny, and had very little drawer space for clothes. Thr bathrooms and kitchen appeared clean, though the furniture appeared to not be dusted in weeks.

The good: the pool is big. The recreation staff seemed great, including many lifeguards that even ran routine safety drills. The location is great, the walk to International Gateway is so short, and the boat the DHS a nice perk.
We had breakfast at Captains grill at YC and it was great.

The bad: hurricane Hannas closed for renovation. This is a total inconvenience for refill cups, bar and food services, bathrooms...the line at the pool bar was often very deep, and they only have 1 pool server (the others reportedly call out all the time). The famous pool slide( the reason we stayed there) was down during our entire stay, a part was ordered from California but was not installed in the 4 days we were there. We were told by staff that this happens every few months, e same part needing replacement, and they then wait for the part to arrive from California each time. The gym is also closed and was moved to the solarium, which is machines only, no weights.
Dinner at cape may cafe still had good crab legs and clams, but there was a lot less variety. The kids selections were awful. The chicken nuggets were replaced with cod nuggets, the pizza was inedible. Our waiter brought us chicken nuggets, but they were e gross processed McDonalds style. For the price, it was not a great meal.
On the last day of our trip, someone stole my son's arcade card from the air hockey table. I finally went to the concierge, as the hostesses suggested at beaches and cream. After 3 calls for a manager, they never showed. I expressed concern over the state of BC during our stay, and was told that DVC knew of the closures and it was "all on dvc" to tell us. Thr bartender at Arielles had flagged down the recreation manager, who was so kind and brought my son a new arcade card.
Our villa location overlooked trees, eater, and the quiet pool. I would avoid this location. Quiet it is not, particularly late at night. Lots of hooting and hollering.

Overall, it's a great location and a nice pool, but I would never recommend anyone go there in it's current state, as the closures do affect the quality of your stay. The villAs need a refresh. Other guests told us the regular rooms were much nicer, but they also were upset over the closures and lack of service at BC.

I was hoping the gym would be done before our trip, which starts Thursday :cool1: are they allowing you to use the gym at the Boardwalk while the BC gym is not open? (We would need weights so I don't think the solarium space would work for us)
Can't wait to go!
