Okay, so I told myself I wasn’t going to do this… That we would take the party as it came and not have a true plan. But… the closer I get, I want to make sure that we are getting in everything that we want to...
So far, the kids (DD – 12 & DS – 5) haven’t shown any interest in meeting the characters, so I haven’t added them in, but that might change in the next 37 days!
My top priorities are getting some magic shots, riding the party specific rides and the Haunted Mansion, Hallowishes, Boo To You, and doing some ToT…
I looked through some of the other itineraries and made one for us… What do you guys think? Anything glaringly ridiculous? I know that there is a lot of back and forth before the party starts, but I want to get DS on the peoplemover early to see what he thinks on the part through Space Mountain. If he doesn’t freak out then, we will all ride it later during the party… If he does, we will do some tag teaming. Also, we are taking it easy at the resort before the party, so hopefully we will be all rested up to make it to the end of the party!
When: Tuesday, September 11 / Who: DH, DD (12), DS (6) and me
3:30-4:10 Arrive at MK, go through bypass & get wristbands, hit some photopass spots if the lines aren’t too long
4:10 – 4:30 soak in atmosphere on Main Street – it’s our 1st time in the MK this trip! – and make our way to Peter Pan
4:30 – 5:00 - Peter Pan (FP 3:35-4:35)
5:00 – 5:30 – mosey over to Frontierland… maybe hit Haunted Mansion or It’s a Small World on the way
5:30 – 6:00 – BTMRR (FP 5:10 – 6:00)
6:00 – 6:30 – checkout the line for Splash Mountain and ride if it’s not too long.
6:30 – 7:15 – head towards Tomorrowland and ride the peoplemover
7:15 – 7:45 – Ride Space Mountain (potentially tag team – DH & DD on SM and DS & I on Buzz)
7:45 – 8:00 - ToT in Tomorrowland - mobile order dinner at casey’s corner
8:00 – 8:30 – Mad Tea Party
8:35 – arrive on Main Street and find a spot for the parade. We know we may not get the best spot at this point and will try to get there earlier…
Tag Team: DH to pick up dinner at Casey’s, Photopass with the kids on Main Street & Town Square, and pick up the SotMK card
9:15 – 9:45 – Boo To You Parade
9:45 - 10:30 Hallowishes on Main Street
10:30 – 10:45 – ToT on the way to Adventureland
10:50 - 11:10 – ride Pirates
11:20 – 11:40 – ride Haunted Mansion
11:50 – make our way out of the party… pick up the allergy friendly treats for DS and stop for any photopass people we see.
I really don't see too much of an issue with your plan, what I do see is you zigzagging which is going to cost you time and tire you out and by you, I'm referring to your entire group. In my experience BTMRR & Splash are generally walk-on's later in the evening. You can go from one ride to the other without dedicating 30 minutes for each. Peter Pan and Space Mountain hold the longest wait. I'm not sure if the new enhancements at Space is important to you considering you've never been on this ride how would you know the difference?
I highly recommend you secure a FP for Space if possible and check to see if you can move Peter Pan to 5:30-6pm with the intention to secure Space Mountain at 3:30-4:30 and Buzz 4:30-5:30.
