Are you able to not have the turn down service in the morning or evening? I just plan on having my sign up the entire cruise.

I would talk to your cabin host. Even though you have the tag on the door they may have the same policy as the resorts where they still do a daily security check.
From the Cruise Contract:

37. Carrier reserves the right to enter Guest staterooms, even when a “Room Occupied” or “Do Not Disturb” sign is displayed, for maintenance, security, safety or any other purposes at any time. The Guest, in the interests of the security, safety and health of Guests, crewmembers and the Vessel hereby consents to Carrier conducting reasonable searches of the Guest's person, property, and stateroom and to the removal, confiscation or destruction of any object which may, in the opinion of the Carrier or the Master, effect the security, safety or health of the Guest or others, or the Vessel, or violate Carrier rules and policies.

If you don’t want the room tidied, tell your stateroom host on the first afternoon. The host typically stops by to check on which beds (if any) to set up. As noted above, the host may still enter the room, so it might be better to use the “please don’t come in” sign only when you are in the room.

On another cruise line, I mention to our Butler and Assistant when we meet that often we will not need AM Service and even occasionally the Nightly Turn Down

I have done it, never said anything to the room host. He did keep asking if I needed anything witch I found annoying. I have no problem if they need to enter to for security checks. I think they did call the room once, but left a message, but never heard from them again. Didn't want the cleaning, touching my stuff or anything. I find thee stuff on Youtube videos to be a bit overrated, Towel animals on the toilet, reorganizing your things, and other little things they may do. Just stay out of my way lol.

They kept asking because it is their job and they live on tips. You sound like a real treat.

I would not be surprised if they need to come in at least once a day for a security check. In our 15 DCL cruises I have never found towel animals in the bathroom (maybe just our experience). They have always been in the main cabin.

If you do insist that they not come in to clean the room are you at least allowing the standard tip charge to be processed? It is their lively hood. Even though you may not want the room cleaned they may still provide some service to you including bringing your luggage to you on the first day and taking the luggage from to disembark. Did you ever use room service and left the dishes out for them to clean up? As far as asking if you need anything, You should not be annoyed. They are just making sure you have any of the items that they would normally replenish if they were cleaning the room daily as needed. Clean towels, toilet paper, soap.

I requested no nightly turn down service on my last 3 cruises. I write it down with my Cabin number and name and hand it to my room person with $50. You don’t have to pre tip, but I do. I usually will get a call from the Head of Housekeeping confirming my request. Often, if I see my room person in the Hal I will say “We”re good this morning” or “Just new towels, the beds are fine, thanks.” We fold down the couch bed on our own. Just not that fussy I guess? Oh, and yes, I pre pay the norma gratuity as well.

Honestly, I feel that they should at least go into each room daily to make sure there aren't food dishes in the room. That would attract bugs and I don't want to be on the other side of a cabin that leaves food around. It doesn't have to be room service but taking dishes back to your cabin from Cabanas or the quick serve food places. I guess I've watched too many hoarding shows!

I was on the Fantasy in Nov. Someone left a dinner plate with shrimp tails and I think jambalaya because there was rice outside my cabin door. I thought it might have been from my cruise partner. So I left it outside the door. When I got inside, I asked my friend that I was sailing with if she got room service. No she responded. I was like there is a plate outside the door. Someone then kicked the plate over in the hall so there was rice everywhere. I picked up the plate and tails brought it inside and we called guest service. Eventually someone came and got the dish and eventually someone else came and cleaned up the hallway.

We found some chicken tenders on the stairs. We saw the same ones multiple times. We finally saw a CM to tell. Someone had left a plate of fries and ketchup out. Someone before me had knocked the plate over. I didn’t see the ketchup and had unfortunately stepped in it🙄

Exactly the reason that people are asked to call room service to come pick up the plates from INSIDE the room.

I've left the sign on the door accidentally a couple of times and unfortunately for me as someone who likes room service, they didn't come. My room host told me he called his sup because he saw us leave for the evening and knew it was a mistake the sup told him he couldn't go in.
I think if you talked to your room host it wouldn't be a problem....less work for him or her. Please do tip though.

less work for him or her
DURING the cruise. But I'd imagine that means more work for that cabin on turn-around day since there hasn't been daily cleaning going on. Yes, obviously there's a deeper clean between guests - BUT if a cabin hasn't been vacuumed or dusted all the previous cruise it's going to have to be even more thorough. And that could mean unfair work for someone who wasn't even responsible for that cabin the previous cruise if they are changing areas.
