I see a updated concept art photo out there existing on Internet and also saw the logo.... these cabins... I am getting negative now. I love the idea of staying there on points and want money invested in the Fort. I even don't mind a modern style cabin but the logo alone screams they are ripping the charm out. Someone please explain to me why this is better compared to what it seems please.

I’m not sure it is better :/ Tom from WDWNT ripped the logo and concept art apart, too. I’ve never stayed at the cabins but it does seem sad to take away so much of the charm. Hopefully the concept art doesn’t do the finished product justice.

Yeah he tends to lean into a similar mindset. I am open minded to change but the Fort is just such a staple and could have been done better. But the logo alone just looks awful and can't imagine anyone putting it on a shirt to wear like other resort locations. Just looking less and less appealing. Otherwise the cabins will probably be bright, simple, nice enough and practical. Just feel like it's a room on stilts and not a cabin in the woods.

I just saw the concept art. I stayed in the cabins in November and did love the rustic feel and look, but am willing to keep an open mind on the newly designed ones. However, I don't understand in the concept art why they have a sofa sitting right in front of what appears to be a Murphy pull down bed on the wall behind it. Hope that is not the case or it will be difficult to manage those sleeping arrangements. I will probably try using some of our points to book at the cabins on occasion as it is nice to be able to bring our 2 dogs (they loved the dog park) and it was fun using a rented golf cart to get around Fort Wilderness going to the beach to see fireworks and seeing the cabin and camping site decorations. Only time will tell how it plays out.

I may be in the minority, but this doesn’t feel like the Deluxe category we are used to with DVC. I would have at least hoped for an in-unit W/D to go along with the kitchen. These all seem like a studio, but will they be valued as studios per night(?) because I don’t want to pay for 1BR units by buying in or renting points or using points to bunk with my kiddos in the closed off room with queen bed and no upgraded differential than a studio really.

I think the cabins are more a studio plus - sleeps six instead of 4-5, additional cooking capabilities - but doesn’t offer the space, privacy, or laundry of a 1BR. It will be interesting to see the points chart.
I think for this exact reason the point charts will be somewhere between the higher studios (~VGF/poly) and jumbo house value 1 bedroom.

This is just a horrible addition to the DVC system. Making a mockery of what a Deluxe Resort/accommodations DVC is suppose to be.

All 1-bedroom units. (Point hogs and will add further pressure at the 7-month window).
The bedroom has bunk beds in the same room as the queen. Why bother with having a wall?
No washer and dryer.
Reduced size kitchen.
Will have tub/showers, not a walk-in shower.
Bathroom is on opposite side of the trailer, instead of being off the bedroom.
No walk-in closet in the bedroom.
And in that reduced footprint, it will sleep six. (half the size of a normal 1-bedroom)

It is going to really depend on what they put the points at. Cause it does not have all the amenities to be at full 1 bed room price.... so if it in-between a studio and a 1 bedroom I think that is a nice little niche. There is a such a huge point jump between studies and one bedrooms. But if the price it the same as a full bedroom it will be a no go for me.

I do want to stay at for wilderness someday during either Halloween or Xmas for all the decor. So if the points do not work out for me for for wilderness cabins I will need to bug my husband some more to drive down our rv trailer so we can stay down there.
