I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

Which credit card companies should I notify that I'm going to Europe? I'm bringing a couple chase and a couple amex. Also, should I notify my bank?
When we went to Japan, I tried to put "travel notifications" on my cards (Amex, CSP, Discover), and basically none of them needed it. I even called our bank, TD, and they said there's no way they could put a travel alert on there, as I was concerned about using the debit card to withdrawal yen from an ATM. I guess this is really a thing of the past nowadays.

The only one of mine that cared was my credit union. I only bother when I'm going out of the country and know I'll be taking cash out. I don't use their travel alerts for domestic trips.

I also got all my fees back from my 3 withdrawals in Japan. Could've been 2 but I didn't know the one temple would take cards, especially for how far it is outside Osaka.

We also have no foreign atm fees, so they were all reimbursed within a few days. Made it easier that I could just withdrawal small amounts each time at 7-11 when we needed more.

Wow my homeowners premium is going up 33% in Virginia for no obvious reason. Guess I'll be shopping around. Our auto rate with the same company has been great, haven't seen the updated premium on that yet though.
Are you in a townhouse? I think I remember that maybe you are. I use Mutual Assurance Society of Virginia and their rates are unreal (I pay about 0.1% of the replacement cost) but I'm not sure if they only insure single-family homes.

Maybe this is a known thing, but here's a DP for Amex Plat airline credit. Delta is my selected airline and I was less than $100 into the $200. We're flying Delta to Vegas in December so I figured we'd hit the Sky Club and maybe some in flight purchases, realizing I may not hit my $200 this year.

When I purchased my DH's ticket (I used skymiles for mine), he had a $100 credit from last year when a hurricane postponed our WDW trip and the new tickets in January were $100 cheaper. ANYWAY, the flight was like $203 (one way, we're doing SW back) so the charge to my Amex was $103 after his voucher. Anyway, Amex covered it toward the Delta $200 allowance! Nice surprise. I've got $13 left and should be able to use that easily.
Always nice to hear AmEx incidental credit successes! Even when, or maybe especially when, it's an accident :)

I do believe this is the main way people are using it for DL (or at least the one I see most often, not being a DL flyer myself). There are some others listed in the FT thread that may make sense to DL folks
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ame...200-reimbursement-reports-dl-only-2023-a.html

FT has a thread for each airline's DPs. I believe they cross link them all in the first post wiki to make it easier to jump between.

They do insure townhomes. So my current premium is going from $969 to $1295. Your company would be $1034 annually after the first year $4700 membership charge. Don't think that works for us.

go to the flyfrontier website. look up your account and see what's there. or use confirmation number. if it's less than a 1 hr change i don't think you have to accept, it's an fyi
oh ok! thanks I'll try it

I know you track every offer too that offsets an annual fee. So are you saying you didn't offset $700 in AFs, or that you offset every AF and saved $1700 on top of AFs?
Didn't offset $700, but I also don't count the Amex Plat airline credits and dell credits. I should count the airline credits. Won't count the dell credits because I wouldn't buy those things if they weren't "free." So if you count the $600 in airline credit I didn't offset $100 of AFs.

I agree with you 100%. I only just downloaded the app because I could not see the offers on my business cards on the website. I would love it if they would become visible again on the website.

Did you check the Disney Gift Card thread? There might be some grocery/drug stores in your area with offers.
So glad I'm not the only one! And I do check the DGC thread but I will look again; tahnks!
I can still see all my Chase offers on the website, for business and personal. I currently have 78 offers on my CSR. I prefer the website also. When did they go away for you? I am concerned mine may go away too!
For me probably a month or so? I had seen others talk about it and sure enough... mine were gone and I haven't seen them since. I am very irritated.
I can still see all my Chase offers on the website but not like before. I have to click on each individual card, then click on overview again, then back to the individual card again and then I can see the offers. Once I’ve done that on each card I can see each card on the drop down menu from the offers page but it’s annoying to not be able to click to offers from the main page.
Thank you for the suggestion... unfortunately that did not work for me (just tried) and then tried refreshing too.

So P2 CIP app was 9/1. Still no answer at all, after faxing two w9. Phone status still says status is unavailable, nothing in notices on the app. Could he app for another CIU or CIC now?
No personal experience but “think” I read somewhere about the application being good for 30 days, but not sure how that works if they have asked for documents…maybe someone else knows

Just cancelled and rebooked our December flights to/from Costa Rica, to save 1,000 AA miles + 10,000 United miles. It's kind of a hassle to track the refunds of the taxes cash portion, which typically appear in 1-2 weeks, but I'm willing to do it for the point savings (even if it's minimal). I guess you can categorize this under the "too much work" section for a lot of people, though.

Noticed some Amex Offers that might be new. Holland America spend $1000 get $300. SLH spend $300 get $100.

Might have to pay cash (gasp!) for 1 night at Tabacon if no award opens up, so the SLH one will come in handy.
Not sure what dates you're looking for, but in r/awardtravel there was a post about Tabacon dates opening up. Thought it was for a specific summer month.

Anyone looking to get to Europe in January or Feb should check out Flying Blue (Air France and KLM). They have 25% off biz class fares, meaning biz for 43k pts from Chicago and Montreal to AMS and CDG. Most availability in Jan and Feb but there are other dates.

I saw and am so jealous, lol, but we're not going until May (and already booked a year out). Not enough PTO for another trip, sigh

Yeah, that's not enough of a savings:( Mine was $450 last year. I think my first payment was $1700 which was twice what I was paying but I plan to be buried in the backyard (just kidding) and broke even years ago. But the math is certainly not as favorable for you! Sorry about that.
