"They can’t b/c the definition is bigotry & they either are in denial that it is or won’t admit it."

This is the problem with society nowadays. Complete intolerance for differences of opinion.

The "If you don't agree with me, you are a bigot" mentality.

Surely you realize that there are a lot of really smart people on both sides of every political issue, and the vast majority of them are not bigots or fascists or whatever other derogatory name you want to call them.

The high cost portion should be underlined and bolded.

We'll do a Disney cruise eventually but it's a tough sell when they are more than double the cost of their competitors. I've never looked into the numbers behind it but I'm sure their margins are healthy and they have plenty of room to move prices if they ever saw a dip in bookings.
Same with the parks.

Threads and articles keep coming out about ‘Park attendance down, Is this the end of demand?’

plenty of room to move prices if they ever saw a dip

^This. If parks or cruises were struggling there’s plenty of room for better deals, as they have done historically.

Look at the definition above for “woke”. So yes some of us have no tolerance for those who proudly proclaim to be “anti-woke”. To us it’s not a difference in opinion. One “view” is morally repulsive.

As long as those posting the prohibited phrases are on the “preferred” side of the argument based on the prevailing leanings on here it will stay open, and all is well. The moment you have some of those that are deemed to engage in “wrong think” say one thing on the prohibited list the mods jump into action.
Nah, I'm proudly woke (meaning I actually care about the feelings and experiences of others) and have been scolded several times for posting something deemed political.

What a simplistic, and tiresome, point of view.

Ok, 50% of the population are immoral bigots. Yeah, that seems accurate.

Pretty much makes intelligent discussion of the issue impossible, but I'm curious about what specifically you find immoral in the opposing viewpoint?

Oh, look. Another thread derailed by the same handful of "anti-woke" posters that just can't help themselves. Oh, well. :(

It's too bad that none of them have the courage to tell us what they're actually against, though. Then, at least, the thread would be closed sooner and we could all be spared the pointless arguments.

As I said, I asked a poster how he defined the phrase and got my post deleted for being "political".

Mods can delete posts and assign points, they don't have to lock threads.

So, your statement is flat out wrong.

Tiring indeed. So if woke means staying alert to social injustice & discrimination & ppl declare themselves as “anti” that, I find that morally repulsive. Jim crow laws & segregation were also popular at the time among large portions of the population probably more than the 50% so the percentage of ppl in favor of bigotry doesn’t make it right. It just makes it that much more disturbing. I suppose obtusely oversimplifying these things as just differences of opinions help ppl justify their beliefs.

I think that is quite generous. There are surely smart people on both sides of some issues but there are also issues where the contrarian viewpoint is completely stupid and only being taken because they're partisan hacks.

You're assuming that 50% of the population is "anti-woke"? Not sure I'd agree with that

My guess is if you polled it the majority of the population doesn't even know what the word means much less has a stance regarding it. I consider myself reasonably educated on politics and I even struggle to define it 100% because it has become a bit of a catch all that is constantly evolving.

You've mentioned a couple of archaic, overtly racist policies from 60+ years ago. I think we have found common ground. We both can agree on what overt racism looks like.

I'm more interested in what present-day viewpoints you find racist or bigoted?

If they are going to close these threads, they should at least alternate who gets the last word :duck:
