I love them! I am not a huge ice cream lover, but I love a chocolate shake. I have them rarely though—too many calories. I would never have one with a meal—too filling. They are more of a late night dessert or maybe an afternoon snack.

I think the last one I had was last June. I had taken a few girls from my youngest daughter’s volleyball team to Disney Springs while we were in Orlando for a tournament. Middle DD went along and she and I had one while we wandering around shopping and waiting for the team. It was a nice evening and a good memory.

I like a good milkshake, but I never drink them anymore since I started eating better. We have a milkshake maker from the 50s that still works and makes fabulous shakes and malteds-I miss it when everyone else is having one, I have to admit.

I don't drink them often, but I did have this bad boy at WDW last week:

Nothing like a donut floating in a milkshake to keep you going at MK!

Chocolate Milkshakes are a treat, I may have always loved. I do have a vague childhood memory of first having one after reading about Roo and Tigger's extract of malt breakfast. 🦘:tigger:At one time, I also liked Thrifty's Mint n Chip with Hershey Syrup shakes made at home. Pre Covid Wienerschnitzel's chocolate shakes were my favorite.

These days, I don't miss drinking all that sugar. I would rather have my small cup of hot chocolate. Tasty thread though especially with Summer coming :)

I like them but rarely have them. And it’s so disappointing when you finally do give in and have one and it just isn’t that good!

I have one a year, usually coffee flavored. Has to be alone as the "meal" because they're heavy. I like them a lot, but I'm fat and lactose intolerant, so it's a poor meal choice for me. Fancy coffee is the same way--I have a milkshake in the summer, and a pumpkin spice latte (or other such fru fru coffee) once a winter.

Ice cream is a favorite of mine. Generally, if I'm going to eat it, it's going to be in a cup or a cone. Once in a while I will get a milkshake from Chick Fil A.

Every now and again but they are so gigantic I just have a few sips & am done.

Seem best suited for people not feeling so great IMO. When FIL was at the end of his life not wanting to eat a milkshake brought him great joy. When we can't get MIL to eat a super sweet pink strawberry milkshake does the trick. When DD was toddler premi trying to catch up with her peers milkshakes were a great way to get more calories into meals.

I get one two or three times a year, and always alone as a snack. They are too filling for me to have with a meal.

Love milk shakes. Too much sugar and calories for my almost 66 year old diabetic body, so they are a treat, not a regular part of my diet. And my wife and I have been known to just do dessert for dinner because even the smaller senior portions are too much food for us now, no room for dessert.

Every once in a while I will get one. we have a burger place close to us that make their own ice cream and their shakes are awesome.

There is a new place local to us, that has milkshakes. My husband is a giant toddler, so he gets one each time we go. I usually have a bite or two. Over the course of the last 2 years, a bite or two of his milkshakes would probably equal a quarter of a milkshake and that is still more than I've had in the last 20 years. I love them, but I cannot justify the calories, sugar, or how they make me feel

I also added "other" because of one of my pet peeves. As a youth I loved milkshakes but that was when a milkshake didn't require the bursting of numerus tiny blood vessels in my mouth to drink them via a straw. They used to be tasty refreshing DRINKS that have morphed into assorted sized SERVINGS OF ICE CREAM (soft or otherwise) served in a milkshake cup. That is not a milkshake that is a cup of ice cream. I feel sorry for those that have never been able to find a real milkshake anywhere. So no one has to fear my taking away the last milkshake available, I lost my desire for them.

I only get them from one place by me, Shady Glen. They make their own ice cream and anything with their ice cream in it is amazing. They were featured on food network but for their cheeseburgers.

I love 'em, but like most everyone else said, it's just too much. I would normally eat it alone/as a dessert but I did have a shake with my burger at Sci-Fi Diner a few years ago. There are a couple of frozen custard places in the area and I'm sure their shakes are crazy good, but I've lived here 11 years and have managed to steer clear of them.

Haven’t had one in years. I used to like the Friendly’s Fribble, but heard they changed the recipe and they aren’t as good anymore.
