Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

It’s been an amazing trip! Sad to leave, but gah, work calls, and that’s what pays for such a splurge. I’ll report on apps, dessert tomorrow, but first, some sleep. I rope-dropped HS, did Epcot (have now had all 6 GotG songs!), and then did Tron and a few other things in MK.

So…something weird is happening and apparently this will populate to all of the CLs shortly. They’ve removed the desk for the CMs here at AKL CL and now the CMs are expected to stand for the entirety of their eight hour shifts at a little raised desk with a single laptop. They look absolutely miserable. This isn’t right.

Thank you so much for all of your posts, they are always so helpful and I love to see them. Is there any possible way you could ask someone at the Grand when the main building is going to go down now that Sugar Loaf is done and if you can't, I totally understand. Just desperate at this point lol. When I was there in April they said 2 weeks after Sugar Loaf was completed would be when they would start the main building but at that time, they had just released rooms for RPC for Memorial Day weekend which I snagged up for one last trip before they close thinking there was no way they would make the rooms available if there was a chance they'd be done sooner with Sugar Loaf which of course now has happened. I keep calling signature services and they have no information. Just can't believe they still don't have any info. Our trip is in 22 days and this is REALLY stressing me out lol!

Sugar loaf is open , I can see people in there. I had friends in RPC this weekend and they asked. One was coming memorial weekend and complained about is closing 5/29. @dispro can you help here? She is busy with family stuff now so may be a bit.

Yep it’s been a hot mess. I’ve had my self moved from BWI cl due to delays, and I know many others with issues with BWI and gf as well.

Thank you for your kind words. Dd and I had a great alone day. When you don’t have cl, you mix it up! We had a great time at Geyser Point at WL at 5p. Then tonight we got back for HEA at GF, did the hot tub, then ER for one and a quick snack from Gaspies.

In bed listening to boat horns, SM and Tron view and loving this before I go home tomorrow.

They’ve removed the desk for the CMs here at AKL CL and now the CMs are expected to stand for the entirety of their eight hour shifts at a little raised desk with a single laptop. They look absolutely miserable. This isn’t right.

Hey girl! I wrote about this back in December!! I had overheard the concierge CM talking to a guest they were friendly with! Here’s what I heard them say…

I did overhear a CM tell a guest yesterday they are moving the CM desk to the hallway (along the lobby railing, outside of the elevators) to open up more space to add table seating for guests. Not sure when this is supposed to happen.

Did they actually add more tables to the space where the desk was? When we were there there, there was one CM (in addition to the desk CM) standing right outside the elevator embankment, alongside the railing, with a tablet helping guests. They had a little slide out desk when needed. I guess they’re both there now.

For Visual purposes:
This is the only picture I took in that direction, (sorry so dark!) but right by that door, in the far corner, is the CM Desk and to left of where the large pillar is, over to the left side of the picture, is where the other CM was. They already had a 2 top table right next to the desk. I can’t imagine they were able to add more than 2 more tables? Can you take a picture of the space for us, if you have time? I’m curious now! Thank you and thanks for sharing!!

Providing update on food at CR Tower Club last night and this morning. No pics, sorry - things got crowded enough here (still not v crowded, but it’s a smaller space) that I wasn’t able to get pics without people/their kids. This morning, it’s first-day-at Disney chaos for one or two families - one kid was walking on the furniture/tables where people eat, mom not saying a word (sorry, I am a little judgy about that).

Apps last night: mediterranean chicken with pasta, roasted pork and vegetables, mac and cheese/tater tots (kids), cauliflower salad, couscous salad, crudites, sushi. They have the wine out at like 3:30/3:45, which is fabulous.

Desserts last night: chocolate nut/coconut tarts (I think? They were amazing!), vanilla cupcakes, key lime tarts, cookies.

And bfast this morning, drum roll please: coddled eggs (why?? why??), nutella crepes, ham slices, avocado toast, oatmeal/hard boiled eggs/fruit/breads - everything else the same.

CMs have been great.

Room (4911) has also been great, the proximity to the lounge might bother some, but I sleep with earbuds so no issues. The one complaint I could produce is that the water pressure is sort of meh. But that’s about it.

Weather has been perfect. Crowds quite low/manageable. Lots of adults and couples, very small kids (as opposed to school aged), people from other countries. I did a walkup to CG lounge last night at 6 to get a particular glass of wine - walkup!!! And it was more than half empty! I’ll come again this time of year.

Headed home today, work emails already stacked a mile high. Happy to answer any other Q’s!

Every CL except BWI we've been in the past couple of years is doing this. I wonder if BWI will go this way too after the referb. Its just not right. I feel so bad for them having to stand all day...which also means guests have to stand while they are being helped as well. I miss being able to sit at the desk with a welcome drink while being checked in.

We stayed WL in March, and they, thankfully, still had the desks for CMs and chairs for guests to sit while asking questions. I don’t get the American ideal that workers must stand to look helpful (yes, I’m American).

Oh no! That's going to make their work much harder! Can they just swap the desk for a smaller, actual desk?
It reminds me of the Seinfeld where George takes pity on the security guard standing up and brings him a chair:

The AKL CL is small and more seating is needed. Does anyone know the number of rooms that are CL? Since they can be located anywhere (not a particular floor or building), it seems like they can have more rooms than other CLs.

It's too bad that the AKL Lounge does not have a view of the savannah. Would be nice if they converted one of the rooms closest to the lobby in the 6th floor to overflow space.

Yacht Club’s desks were gone when they reopened club level last year. CR Tower club’s desk was gone & replaced with a podium when we stayed there last year too.

I can’t believe your DD’s bachelorette has already come & gone. Seems like just a few weeks ago you posted about her engagement. Wedding time!!

That was my thought, as well. It was a great room if proximity to the lounge prep area isn’t bothersome. I have stayed in that dreaded lounge prep area-adjacent room at YC CL, and it was so bad. This room was muffled enough that I was fine with it! And the view with that balcony…

Thank you. Gosh it all worked out great! Truly was the bachelorette party that matched my dd’s likes.

ER at gf the bartender bought her a bottle of champagne, Poly’s Kona sent a dessert tray after lunch, she got complimentary dole whips in MK, Fun times.

CR has had that since reopening in 2021.

They do get to move around at least. In Atrium they can see the elevators and podium from lounge so they do tend to move where needed, Tower cl they seemed to keep someone at podium at all times. They ask for someone to cover if they have to take care of something.

Maybe it’s because it’s been this way a while but I haven’t noticed any discomfort there at least.

Hopefully it will work out . We sure do like and support our CL cm’s.

I don’t think dd is going to request her king for Honeymoon, She has had both and you get either 2 sinks or 2 showers, both are good options

I dont have any cl booked the rest of the year! I’ll be counting on y’all’s pix!

Oh that’s too bad. We’re CL at Poly & BWI Inn 4th of July. I thought I might meet some CL regulars that week.
